I stumbled across this video and am sad to hear that you have passed. I am sure you wouldn't have remembered me, but know that you spared some time for me and that simple act of kindness to a kid from the ghetto sparked a wonderfully lived life. I always figured I would get to thank you in person but I see the time for that has passed. So if there is a heaven, I hope you get to look down upon my words and know that your words helped saved a life from poverty and disrepair. I didn't go on to be the DJ that I said I would be, but I did get to see the world, have kids and now in the 51st year of my life, am happily married and living a life I never thought possible. Thank you brother, god bless and may we meet in the next life.

No effects, no scratching, no unnecessary knob-adjusting, no jumping around like he's having convulsions, not even any engagement with the crowd. He just lets the music speak for itself. RIP.
Exactly DJing like it should be done, Tired of watching dj's faking stuff turning knobs for what, and screaming everybody jump just to get some crowd reaction, because they bore the hell out of people, instead of focusing on their craft and playing top music, they focus on being a star, and look at this room has more life then those dj's playing at 50,000 crowd festivals, where they need to scream at the crowd and wear halloween costumes to get them to do something, Pathetic!!!!!!! This set is absolute perfection. If you understand what this is about you understand the power of how house music can bring pure freedom and joy to you. In even the toughest times, listening to this, you can just let go to all of the stresses of the world around you. It's like medicine for the brain, a cure from stress, anxiety, fear. There will never be another human being like FK and I hope his music will continue to be cherished for years and generations to come. Blessings to all those listening to this who get made to feel so special, just like I do, when vibing to this.
I keep coming back to this set over and over again, it's now 2022 ans it still makes me jam out. Frankie's one of my bigger inspirations when it comes to DJing. I just wish I was able to see him live before he passed away. RIP!
this entire mix is playing at a house party in Brooklyn and its pumping hard! 1000 watt sound system 80" 4K screen- its like being there live this is so amazing about 78 altogether!!!!!!!! Thank you Frankie for the mix RIP!

15:10 “God has a place on the dancefloor. We wouldn’t have all the things we have if it wasn’t for God. We wouldn’t have the one thing that keeps us sane - music. It’s the one thing that calms people down." - Frankie Knuckles :') RIP.
Call me old. Whatever. But I am so glad we didn’t have cell phones back in the day. Just 100% in the moment. I’m thankful for all the fuzzy, cloudy memories. RIP Frankie.
For those who don't know, he invented House music. He's also known as "The Godfather of House". Bless him for making such a beautiful genre! Without him, we wouldn't have electronic music.
Look at the guy in the middle of that room, humble as shit, just sitting there throwing tunes as if nothing special is happening. Just tunes for the people to dance. Like he's not really playing a very important part in it. Only a truly special person could behave like that.
i discovered this guy very recently, appears he's the godfather of house music, and he past away last year... seriously i'm so sad right now..... he left one of the greatest legacy ever .... House music ... Rip
Funny thing is i used to go to clubs where he was doing a set and had no idea i was a few feet from a legend, what i did know was the music took me on a journey.....
i used to go see him all the time in chicago, and he never dissappointed. you're right, they are lucky, and i'm sure they had as much as i always did. *knucks*
Frankie Knuckles is the House music equivalent of what DJ Kool Herc or Afrika Bambatta is to Hip-Hop - one of the founding fathers who defined and helped build this genre!! RIP DJ Frankie Knuckles

RIP frankie , only 12 months before he died and here he is suffering from diabetes and all the health issues that brings with it and he is still totally holding this crowd in the palm of his hand.
Amazing. Four-On-tha-Floor non-stop. How can anybody say anything bad about this set/crowd/dancers/vibe!? Everybody dancing was smooth, happy, grooving with the beat, having fun, Frankie was happy....just beautiful. Wish I was there. Reminds me of midwest chicago house parties in the early 90s. Thanks for sharing, and thank you Frankie for creating, pushing, sharing, and all the countless things you did for House music. You left your mark on so many people, helped open minds, and changed lives. Thank You.
So many Boiler Rooms where people are not dancing. This one is just filled with love, people are jumping everywhere because, you know it, this is Frankie.
Oh man..... Watching this during Feb 2021, Pandemic in full force. There's a lot of things I miss. Dancing for hours to house music, I miss the most!!!! Thank you for posting this!!! RIP
Magic Man. I love that he always kept it true to his origins in disco/soul/funk. Getting harder and harder to find anyone spinning disco house/funky house/Chicago house (at least out here in Cali)...seems like it's all dubsetp and garbage "EDM" these days. Long live the Godfather.
Enjoy a true master at work! Frankie, thanks for all the love and joy! You showed the world that music has no hue or religion. You improved the lives of millions--from the Paradise Garage to the Warehouse, Power Plant , Loft, Underground, Et Al. Thanks brother! God bless you!!
Spent many nights of bliss dancing to his music at the Sound Factory. The Whistle Song was especially sublime, played early morning, when the dream of meeting someone had long past and all that consoled you was the groove. Rest in Peace Frankie Knuckles, Godfather of House Music. Feeling like crying, that's how much his music mattered to me on some nights.
that's what it's all about with house....having fun....don't matter if you look dumb or not as long as you are having a good time....we'll miss you Frankie....God needed a DJ for his events so he took Frankie. :) but we'll still miss the guy.
I don't think I've seen a bunch of people dance and genuinely get down like this in a long time and no phones horray... Frankie delivered a nice vibe..
As a DJ myself for a few years... this is one of the most fluid sets I have heard in a long time. The pacing of the vibe is second to none! ~ RIP Frankie Knuckles.
When I read about Frankie Knuckles death and asked 'Who was he", now that I listened to this I feel like an idiot because I realize I've been listening to his mixes for over 20 years.
Haha me too. I use to be a bartender back in collage 10 years ago. Bartenders go to after hours to unwind and this was the scene. I miss those days. Listening to his music gives me memories i didn't even know i had.
Frankie you are still me hero your sounds / (re)mixes back in the early 90's and later on ... has fired up my love for garage house and I cannot thank you enough for all the joy you gave me when listening to and dancing on your beats, I will always love you and keep your positive vibes in my heart much respct, love and kisses from Amsterdam to wherever you are now (it must be in a good and VERY groovy place), Francis
Nice set! Thank you Frankie! The night I found MJ had left us I saw a girl dancing to Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough, in the zone, right in front of the speaker, in her own little world .. celebrating MJ .. like we're celebrating Frankie here, right now, all of us, all around the world .. blissing out on Frankie's genius, just like all the folk in the room are here .. so many happy people .. and there's Frankie smiling, grinning, playing his tracks .. building us up, making us all feel .. GOOD .. thanks 4 all the joy Frankie !!!

The music speaks for itself, no showboating necessary right here. Still relevant in the year 2020. This music is a way of life not just a great sound my friends as most of you may know.
Mr. Frankie Knuckles pure genius! My life has been enriched by your skills! Perfect intros, perfect breaks, perfect beats! Thank you Godfather of House Music!
This is and always will be my number #1 House Music set. You are truly missed down here Frankie. Idk where I’d be with house music. Thank you. Thank you. Thank You. RIP.
You know what, people tend to post in every video "This is the best boiler room set". No, this totally is the one, and I've seen a whole fucking lot of them, not because of anything in particular but the event as a total experience. I can bet the people had a blast there.
Greatest House DJ ever - Rest in Peace. You've giving me so much Pleasure,I hope I see you there, still DJing.Bye,Frankie!Still turning the best House Vinyls ever spinning.See ya.....Der Marlon.....
Such good vibes, no phones just Frankie and music and people and LOVE! Pure JOY ! May you rest in peace Frankie YOU inspired many many people and made use of your gifts fully !!
What a surprise! One of the few videos where people actually dance! And you know why? It's cause Frankie Knuckles is the best! A legend! Of course everybody would be dancing to him. Either that or the crowd is different from the usual ecstasy-filled teenage audience the DJ sets usually have.
Yes! Because these are true Soul People who understand the importance of this wonderful human being and his contribution to a whole new culture. It's wonderful to see people celebrate Frankie Knuckles, one of the founding fathers of House. People of all ages belong in this scene. With the sheer amount of technology and communications we have there is no excuse for teenagers not to be a part of this revolution. House is eternal, and these people know it.
Frankie Knuckles shows he is a thoughtful house music deejay as well as being one of the great legends of house music, a wonderful genre for creating warm vibes
Frankie is one in the group of OLD SCHOOL BROTHERS that HOUSED ME SO HARD AND SO DEEP.......I KNEW WHAT IT MEANT TO BE TRULY HOUSED AND HAVE AN ORGASM OF THE MOST INTENSE KIND..........THE ONE ONLY MUSIC CAN GIVE YOU, WELL, THAT'S HOW IT WAS FOR ME THEN AND TO THIS DAY STILL IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE.......THANX TO ALL YOU BROTHERS IN DETROIT AND AROUND THE WORLD WHO HAD THE DRIVE AND PASSION TO SHOW THE WORLD SUCH AN INCREDIBLE WAY TO FEEL THE SPIRIT AND EXCEL TO ANOTHER LEVEL ENTIRELY!
Just now found out he died, didn't know. This man is a legend and i was about to say that it breaks my heart to see all these legends going to decks that do everything for you, it even matches your beats. These guys are very talented and should be on the wheels of steel with vinyl and not that crap. I am old school and vinyl and turntables will always live in me and be my preference. I don't mind using one of them cd decks for music i can't find on vinyl and can only get in digital. It's a lot more work to lug around your vinyl collection but hey, YA GOTTA LOVE IT to wanna do it. Today you have a lot of people spinning cd decks and mixers that do all the work for them and then call themselves DJ's. These type of people wouldn't earn the respect of the DJ community. It's like a cheap shot in instead of earning it the hard way. R.I.P frankly!, ya made my Friday and Saturday nights back in the day! on the radio!.
What a king 👑.... absolutely class, and forever one the best jocks with “House Music “ around in the 🌍 He is sadly missed but his sounds will always be played in difficult times - now 2021.... we think 💭 of u all the time..(Frankie Knuckles )🎧🥇💓 Some day we will hopefully get back to boogie 💃🏻🕺on down in the clubs to the great rythem of *house *.........🇮🇪 🌹Rip...F.K.
This!!! When I was a kid this is what I would stay up late at night in Philly when my parents were asleep to tape record off of our radio station. House Head For Life!!!💃💃💃💃💃

***** where I can find it?
I always said that a night on the dance floor with Frankie Knuckles was like a day in church.....the Gospel According to Frankie.
Call me old. Whatever. But I am so glad we didn’t have cell phones back in the day. Just 100% in the moment. I’m thankful for all the fuzzy, cloudy memories. RIP Frankie.
Exactly, with ya (and I'm 52, so saw all this evolve since I started spinning in '86)
Right!
ok boomer
Concordo
On my way to work, I literally dance to the subway no kidding. Full of peace and joy. Better than meditation ❤
For those who don't know, he invented House music. He's also known as "The Godfather of House". Bless him for making such a beautiful genre! Without him, we wouldn't have electronic music.
FRANKIE KNUCKLES!! gone, but never ever forgotten...
Look at the guy in the middle of that room, humble as shit, just sitting there throwing tunes as if nothing special is happening. Just tunes for the people to dance. Like he's not really playing a very important part in it. Only a truly special person could behave like that.
Rest in peace, Frankie. I hope you're making the angels dance up there. Thanks for giving us this colorful music. You'll be missed, Godfather!
i discovered this guy very recently, appears he's the godfather of house music, and he past away last year... seriously i'm so sad right now..... he left one of the greatest legacy ever .... House music ... Rip
Thanks for coming here, Frankie
You made it a better place.
Funny thing is i used to go to clubs where he was doing a set and had no idea i was a few feet from a legend, what i did know was the music took me on a journey.....
that crowd as no idea how lucky they are
haha ;) yes right... the old is the best crowd :)
Im not old ffs..... 23 -.-
HAHA :D NOT YOU ^_^I
BUT ME ~31~
SORRY JOAO :D
i used to go see him all the time in chicago, and he never dissappointed. you're right, they are lucky, and i'm sure they had as much as i always did. *knucks*
He has a residency at SmartBar in Chicago. See him if you stop by.
Frankie Knuckles is the House music equivalent of what DJ Kool
Herc or Afrika Bambatta is to Hip-Hop - one of the founding fathers who defined and helped build this genre!! RIP DJ Frankie Knuckles

Imagine the experiences Frankie Knuckles has had in the clubs... Lol. I would say Rest in Peace, but this guy will never die.
True indeed
He is listed in Wikipedia as "The Godfather of House Music". Solid gold forever. We still have Little Louie Vega.
Thank You.
You are so right, and as a Eddie says: “Not everyone understands house music…It’s spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing…”
People dancing and being happy. Watching this after 8 months of Covid ....wish we can go back. RIP Frankie
This is the first Boiler Room I've seen where the crowd gives the DJ a respectable amount of space. Deffinitly the respect he deserves.
I have got over the sad news and now ya music just makes me smile and feel good from my heart and bones. Rip buddy . Loves ya
RIP
Same here man.
Same boat, buddy!
Same
It aint right we can't dance....we will though
For hours and hours
listening now this podcast for the 15th times ... This is House, Real House Music... Frankie we missing you man... So much Respect for THE Godfather !
Showing my respects
R.I.P Frankie music wouldn't be where it is today without you.
Magic Man. I love that he always kept it true to his origins in disco/soul/funk. Getting harder and harder to find anyone spinning disco house/funky house/Chicago house (at least out here in Cali)...seems like it's all dubsetp and garbage "EDM" these days. Long live the Godfather.
jason starek amen
At least you acknowledge the origin of house--its true--a Humboldt Park survivor from Chicago.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
I play House, Chi House, Soul, Funk etc, at South Padre Island, TX. However, the crowds over here don't really dig it 🤷 I need a House crowd ☹️
@@djblack_eagle you must learn how to deliver the music to them. find out what it is that crowd wants and sneak your style in. it is possible.
We bought 1200s from a store called Matroy electronics on 63 Rd and Kedzie in Chicago IL. In 1982 And never looked back . Real deal Djs.
Frankie Knuckles IS AND FOREVER WILL BE House Music
I don't think I've seen a bunch of people dance and genuinely get down like this in a long time and no phones horray...
Frankie delivered a nice vibe..
R.I.P Frankie....You have inspired a lot of us and i hope ur music keeps doing that for generations to come...
Perfect mix !

thanks a bunch i was waiting for someone to list these classy tunes ;)
I have a crush on the lady with the white top. Dancing Queen! She’s the unexpected star of this broadcast. RIP Frankie Knuckles. this set is timeless.
I was fortunate enough to attend one of Frankie Knuckles dance parties in Chicago at the 'House of Blues' about 10 years ago.
This is Music Royalty. RIP Frankie, We miss you!
Is he dead for real
@@nedimkolecic295 Yes
We used to call it twirling.... This dude would play and we would get our lives... Luv ya dude... R.I.P. u made the world a more colorful place.
As a DJ myself for a few years... this is one of the most fluid sets I have heard in a long time. The pacing of the vibe is second to none! ~ RIP Frankie Knuckles.
The man who changed it ALL FOR THE BETTER! RIP Frankie K.!
Thank you for the music Frankie. One of the fathers of house music. Respect from the UK.
Rest In p̶e̶a̶c̶e̶ Music Frankie!!

These tracks paint images of beautiful days! Such a great mix!
Nov 2024!!! Still Listening!!!
The only DJ I'll ever accept to mix sitting down. HE earned it!
Anyone else in love with Black Dress Girl?? :-)..........R.I.P Frankie from England.

Mr. Frankie Knuckles pure genius! My life has been enriched by your skills!
Perfect intros, perfect breaks, perfect beats!
Thank you Godfather of House Music!
I'll always regret missing this set. rip frankie, thanks for the music
This is and always will be my number #1 House Music set. You are truly missed down here Frankie. Idk where I’d be with house music. Thank you. Thank you. Thank You. RIP.
I was around Frankie several times and he was much nicer than the less accomplished pricks who surrounded him . Great guy and legendary artist !
You know what, people tend to post in every video "This is the best boiler room set". No, this totally is the one, and I've seen a whole fucking lot of them, not because of anything in particular but the event as a total experience. I can bet the people had a blast there.
7 años ya, Frankie el mas influyente y mejor productor de música House de todos los tiempos.
Greatest House DJ ever - Rest in Peace. You've giving me so much Pleasure,I hope I see you there, still DJing.Bye,Frankie!Still turning the best House Vinyls ever spinning.See ya.....Der Marlon.....
Living proof of what the man said ... "Ill keep DJing until the day I die." Bless this guy
Wow, I haven´t seen a Dj beatmatching for a long time especially using the pitch faders only. He was a real artist!
I will always miss him, but this year I'm going to the CHOSEN FEW in Chicago. 2 days of HOUSE MUSIC.
clavon jackson Ok you posted this 2 years ago, how was it? Did they play any Frankie Knuckles songs?? :)
First of all RIP to this man one of the Greatest, 2nd You know you're a BOSS, when you get a chair pulled up to you to sit down for your set...
I was looking for this comment
He lost part of his leg due to diabetes, which is why he was sitting.
New Years Eve 2020, dancing round the house to thus with a big glass of vodka and a spliff. Happy new year everyone x
Cox!
Laura L just liking your comment isn't enough. I really like your positive view and i agree :)
Frankie Knuckles shows he is a thoughtful house music deejay as well as being one of the great legends of house music, a wonderful genre for creating warm vibes
You HONESTLY believe the crowds are ecstasy filled these days? GOT to be fucking kidding me, right?
Deeper sounds London
its bath salt labeled as molly filled crowds
Why are house parties so civilized compared to other music parties
Because the OG House music is a feeling,no egos, just vibes.✌️🔥
Im in tears because I will never get the chance to witness the legend live.
RIP Frankie, thanks for the Music and for the memories, House Music Forever, One Love
R.I.P. FRANKIE KNUCKLES
:-(
so fucking sad saw him here in chicago in oct 13 :-(
:(
What a king 👑.... absolutely class, and forever one the best jocks with “House Music “ around in the 🌍 He is sadly missed but his sounds will always be played in difficult times - now 2021.... we think 💭 of u all the time..(Frankie Knuckles )🎧🥇💓 Some day we will hopefully get back to boogie 💃🏻🕺on down in the clubs to the great rythem of *house *.........🇮🇪 🌹Rip...F.K.
This!!! When I was a kid this is what I would stay up late at night in Philly when my parents were asleep to tape record off of our radio station. House Head For Life!!!💃💃💃💃💃
RIP master knuckles.....Your music and spirit will live on 4ever and ever!
Oh the sweet sounds of the real thing!!! one of my first live shows and have seen this deity of house at least 15 times live... never disappointed... and a privilege to watch THE realest turn table artist at work!!!
"let's just stay home today" quite appropriate these days
The energy from this set is uplifting
it's depressing to watch old boiler room sets and see people lol
