Nothing makes me happier that the character genius of Percy is reaching a wider audience. One of my favorite characters of all time especially in the real campaign
I feel like they did his story too quick and that demon not gone just because he throw his gun in some acid
2:06 is SO good the sound effects ON BEAT and then Percy's "Son of a bitch!" at the drop is INCREDIBLE
As well as 0:46 when the beat lines up with the gunshots. That sort of stuff is just *chef‘s kiss*

Percy's story & background are giving me so many ideas for a "FIEND patron" Warlock character, who's made deal with a "fiend" (devil) for power to fuel her/his vengeance towards the people who wronged/hurted/betrayed them, such a good character!!!
it does not even have to be a warlock, people often forget that you can be powered by/ trapped by a "fiend" of some sort with out being a warlock, the warlock part only comes if they grant you magic powers, in this case Percy's fiend grants him more of a technological iginuity type of gift, no to day your idea was bad or anything, i have had some charicters based of simular ideas
honestly editing the beats of the song with the timings/sounds of the pepperbox being pointed at the camera or a person is so good *chefs kiss* MWA

The "dark" bits being paired with List's gunshots or being aimed at someone is so amazing and I love the timing of the frames. "My devils they whisper in my ear" and Orthax is at Percy's side, "Deafening me with all my fears" and it's his family dying, oh my god it's wonderful!!!

Supposedly he will appear. I think that holds water, actually. Probably a hell of a lot easier than social media.

This is my first time hearing this song, and I know if I hear it outside of this video it'll sound incomplete without the perfectly timed gunshots and Percy's voice lines. This video is pure perfection!

This is quite possibly the best Percy edit out there, it’s my favourite for sure. The synchronicity with the lyrics and how they connect seemingly perfectly to each scene just drives me crazy. The video’s an absolute masterpiece and perfectly symbolizes Percy’s gradual pursuit into madness in the twelfth episode, with everything leading up to it. You can see how torn he is already, but the reinforcement of the song just speaks to the audience on a whole new level. I even experimented with this video, muting the original audio and playing “Warriors” by Imagine Dragons over it just out of curiosity, and that song works perfectly with the video too. The craftsmanship of each scene is just amazing. It will satisfy any listener and the only flaw is that it’s just not long enough. Perfect song choice and superb editing skills, very impressive.
Honesty, the sound of pepper box and percys dialogue over the song makes me like it more than the original.
Yep, this is one of those transformative works that allows an artist use a song without buying the lisence to the song.
what i love most about him is i remember someone mentioning i think having made a campain set in the vox machina world where percy wasnt saved by his friends and fell to the corruption of orthax completly becoming orthax's disciple and starting a cult based around orthax who through said cult gained enough power under a name chosen by himself that he became a god like the traveler as he became known as the collector and percy and the other disciples made it their goal to collect souls for him.
The part where the video rotates in like the rotation of the barrels in his gun is fucking genius and something I missed on my first 10 times through. This is fucking excellence!!!
This is my favorite edit in the whole video, I never would have thought to do that in a million years and it works SO well.

I was already massively in love with this video before having watched TLOVM and now after seeing it I love it EVEN MORE!!! Hnnnggg Stacy your lyric and beat matching only improves!!! This song so perfectly captures the madness inside of Percy and how deeply he seems to struggle with it, and you just emphasize it so freaking well. Need to point out my favorite bits:
0:20 Having faded versions of his family and the Briarwoods beside him with "shadows that dance in my headspace". I know you masked out Percy and put the scenes behind him and it looks SO CLEAN!!!
0:25 Zooming in on the gun and having the background burn away from Percy and the Briarwoods. That effect is so good I legit thought that was real until watching the show like holy shit the absolute dedication you did fro the visuals in this???
Of course the sound effects on the beats is to be noted! Always using those gunshots to your advantage!
0:47 LOVING the black saber effect on the "Darkside" text, blends in really nicely with the smoke coming off of him. Makes it feel like it's apart of the environment!
1:10 "The devils, they whisper in my ear; deafening me with all my fears" I mean just....dude? Dude???? The MASTERCLASS lyric matching on that.
1:33 Text looks EXCELLENT
1:46 my FAVORITE use of "dark-dark-darkside" with the parallels of him pointing the gun and the sound effect to match it!
The whole final act of the song escalating and the matching of that to the climax of Percy fighting Orthrax is so well done! You can just _feel_ the intensity of it all. Favorite part has to be 2:16 when the beat matches cutting to the smoke on him to his face, and then cutting to Keyleth being absolutely terrified. Just sends chills down my spine its great.
I truly can't praise this video enough. It's COMPETING with my love for "Incomplete" as new fave canon vid from ya. You've improved so much as a canon editor these past few years and its incredible to witness! I just love it, I love it so so so much

Holy shit the editing in this is incredible. The way the beata synchronized with the percussion of the gun, the way the visuals moved to the beat perfectly, the small graphics added in for the lyrics, the pacing, the sound design (particularly the parts that were muted versus the ones that were kept in) oh it gave me chills. This is the best example of how to edit to music it's so good

I don't normally comment on videos but this is such a good edit that I had to let you know. I love the audio overlays, the masking, the effects and timing. Here are some of my favorite parts: 0:43 (timing of the shots), 1:08 (timing of the glowing eyes with the music), 1:15 (the increasing scream), 1:36 (the great masking), 1:41 (the timing of the transition effect) and 2:21 (masking again). You earned a sub, thank you very much for the great video. I've watched it multiple times now and downloaded it.

This shit is fucking epic man. The amount of effort and time this must of taken. The music fits so well and the way you blend the guns noises with the music is just incredible
Also Percy's bird mask just looks so fucking cool and I wish they had found a way to keep it even after Orthax is defeated. Like I get that it literally symbolizes Orthax so it would be hard to have percy wear it otherwise, but man its just so cool.
I feel like Percy got downgrade after the first season while everyone else gets new thing he lost his smoke and mask it was sad man
@@V-Achaius yeah. I think it'd be neat if they updated his design a bit. His simplistic outfit worked really well with the bird mask but now that that's missing it could do with something else. Idk what that'd be though.

this is aboslute perfection! i've been binging the song Darkside for some time now and kept thinking about Percy before I finally went to go see if anyone married the two. And you did a PHENOMENAL job. The timing and the edits are perfect. I can keep rewatching this over and over again plus you even included actual sound from the show. The lciks of the pepperbox as well as Percy's anger and shouts are all so well done. I adore this. And even your ending of who supported you and and your pages, you did an exceptional job of keeping the song but muffling it and it all just is amazing and beautiful!!

I have to say this is amazingly put together.
My favourite part is the transition at 1:37 They way Percy steps into frame and the flash changes the scene is perfectly timed. I literally had to check if it's from the show, because I couldn't tell if it's post work or the original.

Wow... just wow. This edit... I'm blown away what the hell. I just became a new critter after watching this show and it's all thanks to Percy, this edit will keep playing on repeat in my head (and on my screen) for weeks to come. It's incredible!
Just to add some specific timestamps that give me goosebumps that others haven't already said, 1:08 with the glasses flair at "embracing the madness", 1:21 with the mask removal at the "parts of me I cannot hide", the entire sequence at 1:34-1:49 because oml that editing and the eye flash and anders death flashing with the eye as well, 2:01 with that evil smirk, and then of course the "son of a bitch" at that beat drop! (and then the parts everyone else is saying too!)
