- I was listening to this song the other day and realized it was perfect for my favorite white-haired gunslinger, so I made this in a couple days instead of working on the Jinx AMV I had already started on. Oops. Anyways, I played more with editing audio this time, hopefully it paid off!

In the beginning, Percy was an evil character. Purely driven by vengeance, he did virtually anything to get what he wanted.

Dude, I don’t know why, but I always get chills at 1:16 when Percy says the line and it only amplifies with the high note and beat drop.
His name is Percival Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski De Rolo III. If you look at the roots of each part of his name, you may find it kinda tells the story of his life.

So, essentially, Percy's long name is made of a lot of foreign names that each have a meaning in another language. I can't remember all of them, and some are a bit of a stretch (you might have to be a bit generous in your translation), but for example.... I think Fredrickstein might mean "Whitestone" and I (erroneously thought) Klossowski means something along the lines of "beloved by the people." Von usually means "from" and De usually means "the," but it can vary language to language. I didn't do the breakdown myself, but someone had pointed out that if you translate all his names from varying languages, it basically describes him. Something like Outcast of Whitestone who is a ruler beloved by his people, or something like that.
MAJOR EDIT: My attempts at translations here are quite incorrect, as have been pointed out below. I am by no means fluent in the languages these names come from. I know some passing conversational German but for the most part I was just guessing and am editing the wording to better reflect that.

@@dragonwithamonocle What? If Klossowski is meant to come from polish surname Kłossowski then it does not mean "beloved by the people". It comes from word "kłos" which means ear of grain. "-owski" is a sufix that is added to many polish surnames to make them surnames and not just random words. I think the idea for Percys name was just to make it sound as middle-east european as possible. Long, with german and slavic surnames.

Best thing about this = IT TELLS ME NOTHING!! 😁 and before you get angry, I dared to watch this before I even knew what Vox Machina was and all this video did was make me MEGA hyped for the actual series. It’s like a perfectly edited trailer!

I can't remember which version they used in Arcane- I REALLY like the visuals in the music video for the rap portion but imo this bridge works better to fit the characters. "Love is embracement" is literally Jinx's whole thing. Anyways mini Arcane rant over

I love how edgy Percy is. Watching the serie, I didn't even know it was from a dnd campagn, but I already had the feeling he was someone's edgy oc and I love him for it
why does 2:04-2:05 give me such chills every time I hear it? "Love is embracement, Love is a constant, Love is the basis." It has to because of the rhyme pattern. I don't typically care for the relationships of fictional nor real-life people.

the art style really reminds me of young justice, but also with more perspective shots.
Both shows actually have the same character designer so that’s probably where the similarities come from.

I'm assuming because it's Latin and the words for 'voice' and 'machine' respectively.

This AMV is really good from a technical standpoint, but imo the only thing the song and the character have in common are edginess and the fact that they were both super popular at the same time.

What is a basic summary on the legend of vox machina? Just curious because the show has got my interest.
Based on a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, Vox Machina follows a scrappy group of adventures who find themselves broke after yet another night of drunken revelry. They take a job from the King/ruling council to face a mysterious beast that is terrorising the nearby villages.
That's just the first two episodes, which are a bit of a fast paced mess as the show tries to introduce the world and group as a whole, sharing screentime among each of the 7 main cast.
The rest of the season slows down as it retells an arc focusing on just one character, Percival de Rolo from the video above, as he confronts the trauma of his past and the darkness growing inside himself.
More detailed story/spoilery summary for the start of the Percy section:
Born a nobleman to a family who ruled the city of Whitestone on the other side of the continent, 5 years ago his whole family was murdered in a coup orchestrated by two friendly strangers who just showed up one day; Lord and Lady Briarwood. In the present after the events of the first two episodes, Vox Machina are invited to a feast at the palace where the Briarwoods, now apparently the legitimate rulers of Whitestone, are also attending. There is a confrontation with the party, who discover their enemies are weilders of monstrous abilities and dark magic. They flee, and Vox purses them back to Whitestone, now a derelict place with the remaining population keep in check by the Briarwoods' brutal henchmen and undead prowling the streets. The group work towards liberating the city, while concern grows over Percys pursuit of vengence.

@@SgtHeroi Incorrect. He's a pathfinder gunslinger, ported to 5e and heavily altered. There's a couple versions online, some are correct.
@@HeroKiro I believe he's a fighter with Matt's homebrew fighter archetype. Since DND didn't have a gunslinger they had to make one when they moved into 5e.
@@TheCatgirlGaymer he is yeah. But the archetype is from pathfinder gunslinger, which is what I was saying. But yes he gets all the funny fighter things, like action surge.
