yeah that really sux. sometimes I really hate the Grammys. Beyonce and Alicia Keys are over awarded and so many great artists don't have any or one: Diana Ross, ABBA, Queen, SIA, Katy Perry, Janis Joplin, Brian McKnight, Journey, Charlie Puth, etc. Shame. Shame. Shame.
Grammys is mostly for USA mainstream acts. I remember during electronic years there were many European acts in that category, as Swedish House Mafia, and the only American one was Skrillex... Do you know who won? Yeah Skrillex, the American one... Even that the other ones were better in every sense ...

D timing each shot perfectly in pre production so that they walked perfectly in frame whilst saying the same thing at the same time is.. really impressive. The more you look at it as an editor the more impressive it is .. like how did one of the "kylies" pick up one of the bags that the other dropped so seemlessly if it was rotoscoped?

For those of you who don't know. This videoclip was made by Michel Gondry. Same director as "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind". Amazing videoclip, amazing director 👏
And "Where the wild things are" and the amazing "Be kind: rewind". Gondry also made tons and tons of amazing videoclips with Björk and The With Stripes. But my favs one are "The sugar water" by Cibo Mato and "La tour de Pise" by Jean-François Coen.
A year ago, it was written in the description of this video and also written by Cathy Dennis (many hits) Album: Fever. I don't know why they changed it.
Stiglitz it's German isn't it? I ask cause my avatar (movie villain, oscar winning like The Joker) comes from a Tarantino movie. There's a character "Sergeant Stiglitz" he's German. He kills nazis. I'm not German, I'm Canadian.
I still can't fathom how much time, planning, money, energy, care and Editing it must take to pull this off. My heart goes to the director, producer and editors to make this masterpiece thankyou for one unforgettable childhood.
If Kylie could really reproduce herself at the rate of approximately 1 per minute, there would be over 11 million Kylie's walking around since this song was released. Maybe I would have a chance of getting one.

One of the best female performers of all-time. Hands down. She doesn't get enough credit, in my opinion. Sending love all the way from Nowy Sącz to Las Vegas.
Filmado en una sola toma, con el timing perfecto, y duplicando no solo a Kylie sino a todas las demás personas, es un perfecto caos este video y es por eso uno de los mejores de toda la historia, insuperable
I’ve had the biggest girl crush on Kylie since I was 8 years old, she’s just so beautiful. Even today she still looks incredible. Love this video and song. She won a Grammy for this video been trying To find the footage of her winning the award but can never seem to find it x
If I remember correctly, I think this award was given during the Pre-Show, so it would’ve never been announced during the actual airing of the Grammys that year😊
This video is amazing. Not matter how many times I watch it, I'm flawed. The 'Fever' era in general was one of Kylie's best both musically and visually. Every video she released from this era looked great.
I was in the 9th grade and obsessed with Fever by Kylie Minogue. This song was my favourite from the entire album. Yahoo Music releases the video and I remember listening to it at the school library in excitement. I was thrilled this became the final single from Fever. Iconic
This song was part of my morning playlist back when I was a sophomore in college. I remember playing this every morning in my dorm. Love the fever album the most. 💕

Did anyone notice she was still happy and was singing about lifting her up even tho the world was getting crazier with each loop? She was still unaffected by it. She didn't let the bad things around her get to her. I think that's a very good message hidden in this awesome video.
A lot of choreography timing, and rotoscoping in stacks, most likely. The camera is likely on a track and computer motion controlled to loop around on itself. Notice the background is always the same distance from camera. Notice how first Kylie is further in the background and they start to stack towards camera. Also, once first Kylie drops the purse, she never has one again. Thats how you can track first Kylie. The Kylie's do ebb and flow foreground and back, but she knew each time around to not walk on exactly the same path, or to slow her pace by a step or two (like when they all duck the ladder and run under.) The music playback i'm sure was part of her knowing how to wait a beat to let her previous self have some space. Also notice how each new Kylie is lip syncing to the current verse, but the previous Kylie's are lip syncing to the earlier verses. Also, the background characters are multiplying. Notice how the person gluing up the poster on the wall moves down a space on the wall. One near miss to look out for: at :40 second Kylie almost gets smacked in the head by the kid who's balancing on the post from the earlier loop. The arm and kid seem to get a weird blur effect as his hand passes by her hair. Tight squeeze. I wonder how many takes it took them to get it right. Or how much they rehearsed it before shooting. Amazing humans, they are. Here's a video from the 80's ruclips.net/video/tytPcvyJASc/видео.html that used a similar idea (stacked video, multiple clones of the performers) But here, director zbigniew rybczyński used green screen to avoid the background and rotoscoping. Just spaced the band and shot to the timing and choreography, then stacked video passes on top of each other, somehow. Also, sorry if I just ruined the magic trick.
Here , ruclips.net/video/3JPZm1vM3gU/видео.html Zbig used film, cut out the characters, and then probably shot the animation on an oxberry camera set up. 1980
@@ccameron894 Exactly. It definately is a loop - that ladder is already there twice on the first loop around right before the second Kylie walks out the door. That is the dead giveaway they are looping it. It, as you said, was a lot of effort and I am sure after each loop was completed they stopped and checked where the Kylie before was located so she was sure not to overlap with it. Note on the second loop the first Kylie disappears at times when there is a green car in the background passing down the street - as they did not want to show her walking through a moving car. This happens on every loop thereafter for the "second" Kylie. It was creative timing and editing to make it all the choreography work.
That's what is consistent with all music legends! Even others like Michael Jackson, Rick Astley, Usher, Bruno Mars etc. They always perk up our spirits and have such great talent! 😆❤️
I absolutely agree. This is the best music video ever. Four Kylies in the same place at the same time, interacting with each other. At the last second, even a fifth comes out the door. She was such adorable!
Don't forget there are multiple of others in this video as well, more janitors, people putting up posters, more ladders, more girls throwing things at more guys below etc etc. So I doubt that there is enough of her around for all the single guys cos everyone else is also multiplying :p

I completely forgot about this classic. Lately, only when I'm grocery shopping do I find a lot songs of my youth lol. 23 when it came out. Her voice is the most memorable of any female artist. Like she's whispering as she's singing. Brilliant. There still hasn't been a video since of this quality.
I listened to this song when I was just a kid and was still not fully aware of myself (wasn't fully self-conscious). I've been looking for this like forever. I kept asking my sister about this song saying what's the song where clones of the woman keep appearing in the streets while she's walking. But sadly she never got what I was referring to. I've seen this song when my elder siblings were listening to it. I hope you know the joy of finally finding a song you've been looking for ages! 😭❤️

@m_marmalade yeah, definitely right. The video + song vibe creates a nice feeling of joy and a profound sense of satisfaction. Your welcome and thank god, at least we made it. I am from Libya and my mother tongue language is Arabic.
My favorite Kylie song, beautiful lyrics, melody and simply the smartest Music Video i have ever seen, the director is a genius as we can't even notice the cuts, that's quite formidable, visually stunning from replicating the environment elements to the outfit colors. Perfect!
Ayrton Neves Notice the cuts? The video was filmed in a single take using a control rig which did a four or five passes around the crossing, each time recreating the first pass for the camera angle to match up perfectly. Every pass was overlaid on top of the previous one in editing to get the 'multiplication' effect. It's actually a pretty genius idea, made possible thanks to the control rig device.
What's the story in this video? Where does each Kylie think she's going? If I walked round and round in circles, people would look at me quizzically and I couldn't blame them. Great video technically, though.
This is still, to me, one of the best music videos ever made.
Absolutely.
Truth must be told.

No matter what happens around Kylie, you keep yourself looking at her.

This is a masterpiece that is one of my favourites since day one.
I’ve had the biggest girl crush on Kylie since I was 8 years old, she’s just so beautiful. Even today she still looks incredible. Love this video and song. She won a Grammy for this video been trying
To find the footage of her winning the award but can never seem to find it x

Iconic
I was too in 9th grade when i first listened this song. I heard this song on Mtv and Channel V. This song brought so many memories. 😍
8th grade here lol, but yeah I remember I spent full days listening to it or watching the video every time I could.

Yes, very true. Like she's saying "come into my world where there's peace from what's going on around you"

Here's to 2024 and beyond... Kylie, goddess of dance pop and pure joy 😊
nearly 20 years later and i still can't figure out how they managed this incredible feat of video editing
Also, sorry if I just ruined the magic trick.
actually balancing kid might be on the third pass, almost hitting second Kylie
The cut is she crosses behind the traffic light I front of the blue building
she has such astonishing charisma, always catch my self smiling like a fool when i see Kylie

Legend says she's still turning around to this day replicating herself so any single man can be with his own Kylie.
Don't forget there are multiple of others in this video as well, more janitors, people putting up posters, more ladders, more girls throwing things at more guys below etc etc.
So I doubt that there is enough of her around for all the single guys cos everyone else is also multiplying :p

I listened to this song when I was just a kid and was still not fully aware of myself (wasn't fully self-conscious). I've been looking for this like forever.
