Will you be covering the CD versions? I'm interested in hearing what you think of the home PC (Windows) version
Yes, the 32-bit version of the game will get its own video, followed by the rest of the 3d era later on, then a separate episode dedicated to spiritual successors.
Road Rash is a good example of as long as the frame rate is consistent, you can get away with a pretty low one.
and the music in Road Rash 2 on Genesis is great.
4:30 Model 1 Genesis have a low-pass filter that makes audio sound less Genesis-y and more like what you would expect to come out of an AM radio
Thats the problem when you are to young to remember the games when they first came out.
Road Rash 2 had bikes with Nitros, you could attack the police, chain as a new weapon and the 2 players split screen.
The graphics were also improved over the original and AI was improved.
Thank you!
Road Rash 2's big thing over the original was it was 2 player. Great fun trying to screw over a friend >:)
But you must take a look at Road Rash's Genesis spin-off, Skitchin' sometime too!
Hey Larry What r u doing here buddy???
Dont forget about the N64 game! That for me is peak Road Rash
we'll get there!
My girlfriend and love 64 and the headbanging to Mean Machine haha
@@Under10Hours Living Life in my case lol
@@FranciscoFJM nice!!

Road Rash fans: I love this song!
Sir, you ears are not accustomed to the PCM Synth based goodness of the Genesis/Megadrive. The composition is good and the synth could be worse, if you don't like the Genesis renditions... May I recommend online fanmade covers? There's some great stuff out there
Oh man, I thought this game was a childhood fever dream!
_Franchises to consider next:_
WipeOut
Destruction Derby
NASCAR
Flatout
TrackMania
TOCA Race Driver / GRID
Colin McRae Rally / DiRT
Always great content on this channel👍
GRID and NASCAR are both on my radar to cover :)
I grew up with the mega drive and even though the console came out before I was born I have really fond memories of playing road rash, lotus challenge and sonic the hedgehog 2.
I’ve got Road Rash 2 as part of my Mega Drive collection and it is pretty good, I enjoy it and it’s fun to play with my brother in multiplayer, and I expect I’d enjoy getting into the singleplayer. I do like the graphics and the rough art is still pretty alright, and the music is pretty good but can get annoying, it’s no masterpiece. The biggest problem for me though is just the frame rate, it’s still “playable” but it looks super choppy and it can be really hard to play sometimes. I almost wish they’d gone for a system closer to Super Hang On (another game I own which plays great) and got at least 30fps rather than 12. I’d definitely like to collect the rest of the series some day, and I must say this video was super entertaining and actually introduced me to a bunch of road rash games I didn’t know existed!
Even after I have played and loved the PC version of Road Rash '95, I still wish Tour de Force got a PC port.
The amount of weapons featured in that game was crazy, and some of the more powerful ones, like the cattle prod, are in the hands of the top podium rashers. To this day, I still remember Lucky Luc and his oil can, often ruining my race as I can't outboost him.
Loved Road Rash. The racing was fab and the transition screens gave it an extra layer of atmosphere that other games made of “just” menus and action definitely missed. And those passwords were a lot easier to input when playing on Amiga 😉
Purple Panda 600 ftw btw 🏍
Oh my god the game boy port is so compromised but somehow still impressive, the flickering trees and stuff might be a trick done by some game boy games, on the original screen the ghosting was so bad that it looked solid just partially transparent, or a lighter green. It also could increase the frame rate as it only had to draw half as many sprites per frame as they could alternate sprites.
Great video as always!! Tbh even being a 90s kid I've never play any road rash game but now I feel like playing it.
holy crap, i didn't realize that had a place in my brain where the brazil song resides
if Burnout Paradise bikes had Road Rash style takedowns
more on this later :P
I'm just here waiting for that elusive TXR review on the Dreamcast
Are you ever going to make a video on the first few Test Drives and other really early 3d racers?
The hard thing about that is that absolutely whenever possible, I want to use real hardware. Don't really have the space or money for an amiga at this moment (though I am selling a Vic-20 so maybe at some point) but I would loooove to play Test Drive 1 - 3.
Race Drivin' is one i'm interested in doing, though.
another great vid Kacey! also nice nails💅
I always saw Road Rash as a 3DO-era series, I didn't realize it went as far back as the Genesis.
Love your vids man, also loving the painted nails
There's an SRAM upgrade for Road Rash 1 and 2. It adds a pseudo save system to both games.
I know I'm kinda late to this but still, great video. The old Road Rash games on the genesis where some of my favorite games while growing up, together with the Strike series (Desert Strike, Jungle Strike and Urban Strike), as well as games like Rings of Power and Starflight. Also, there are actually three different attacks on the old Roadrash games, simply pressing C will punch, pressing Up on the D-Pad and C will do an Elbow Attack and pressing Down on the D-Pad and C will do a Kick Attack.
I like the evolution of names.
KAC
KACEY
KACEY?
KACEY!
KACEY?!?
NOT KACEY
I’m glad someone finally noticed
I used to love playing Road Rash on the PC and I was actually pretty decent at it.
I’ve never played a road rash game but that og road rash track slapped
My first experience of this series came from EA Replay on psp. The first 2 games were ok but the 3rd game is the peak of this series imo. Not just because of the graphics but the variety of objects that can affect the whole race and the fighting is more insane than the previous games. Also the best thing is that the engine sound of the bikes were disabled by default (never heard the sound and glad I never did because its awful lol). The music used in this version (on EA Replay ofcourse) is much better imo and suits the game quite well. The music used on Germany and UK (or Ireland, forgot which one) in RR3 are my favourite.
Do you take vid requests? Will you do a vid on the Driver series?
Also, great video as always sis!
EA also had Formula One, NASCAR, World Superbike championship and even AMA Supercross. At one point, before EA Superbikes was a thing, they released a game that nobody remembers and I'd love someone to find and make a deep dive: EA AMA Superbikes.
Road rash was my favourite game series on genesis bar none
Road Rash on the PS1 was my childhood and in my opinion, had way better music than the Genesis version.
WOAH WOAH YEAH!
Road Rash jailbreak is such good fun
It had Soungarden! Need I say more?
Oh, how many hours i spend in road rash 2 and 3 on my mega drive 2) and rr 3 had 7 stages including night track in japan opened on 3rd level.
I know you've looked at test drive 6, but can you do a review on test drive (2002) on ps2?
Am I remembering wrong or did you have to pause then press ABC together to export back to the menu?
Am I remembering it wrong or could you pause it and then press A+B+C together to quit the level.
I guess you can try the soft reset method of Start+A+B+C together?
hang on... in EA Replay, they replaced the music for Road Rash to... music from NFS 2? the track you showed off at 14:30 is Feta Cheese by the late, legendary Saki Kaskas which is one of two tracks that plays during the Mediterraneo level. instantly recognizable to me since NFS 2 was the first video game i ever truly fell in love with. good lord it would feel so, so wrong to play Road Rash with iconic NFS tracks coming through the speakers. such a strange, strange choice EA made on that one.
14:40 bruh thats the song Feta Cheese from Need For Speed II
The 1997 windows 95 version was the goods
What is the closing music from? I know I've heard it before, but I just can't place it at all!
Gran Turismo PSP dealership music
@@aaryeshg.6526 Oh my god I commented this a year ago! Thank you so much!
Where did you even come from??
@@siddarthgandubilli2786 No problem. My first GT game was the psp (I only had a psp and GBA back then) and still play it sometimes on ppsspp emulator when current mobile games get a bit boring (like real racing 3 🤣).
As for Road Rash, my first experience of playing all 3 was because of EA Replay collection. It was collection of EA's genesis era games all ported and adapted for the psp. Road Rash 3 being my favourite of the 3.
Great review! You need to review the 32 bit games. I think that are flawed but decent.. especially Jailbreak.
I like the music of the original game. It’s not the best music, though it is nostalgic to me.
The Amiga was not more powerful than a Genesis. As far as it being more expensive...it was a microcomputer that was first introduced in 1985 for over 3 hundred bucks, but by 1991, it was long in the tooth.
Does anyone remember Jacked?
no mention of Road Rash 64 wtf
dude, please take more time to properly apply the nailpolish. 😁
Andreas hahaha I have really unsteady hands and I just overspray it and let the excess come off when I wash my hands. + my top coat went bad so I wasn’t too worried about being perfect as it’s gonna chip off in a couple days anyways

rr3 looks so bad even if it is a better game I cant stand it. master system port appreciation come from knowledge of other master system ports 😀 this looks and plays so great!!
Német Attila right, I was impressed at RR for master system being so faithful given the hardware. I personally like RR3’s visual style but that’s just me
The PS1/PC/3DO version is best and I will not hear otherwise.
you are 1000% correct.
Uhh, so you can download Road Rash 2 for free yet this bigmouth on youtube has a patreon link in the description? Get off of my internet right now dude. You do not understand this place.
Lmao okay go ahead and strike literally any creator with Patreon off RUclips and see how many you have left. Fuck off punk

It must 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 suck being you. I can tell no one likes you, and that must be really hard :(
My advice to you is that you change your attitude about life.
People literally work countless hours to make you 𝙁𝙍𝙀𝙀 content, yet you choose to be a little bitch about it.

Also, maybe one day a woman will talk to you, but probably not :)
