Fought this guy DIRECTLY after a really tough leviathan fight with hellion, hwm, occ, pd. Killed him with anamesis and let out the BIGGEST sigh of relief. Fought him again in the next region, got both dismas and barristan heads and cried to sleep because of crit combo collected hwm.
Ive logged in 220+ hours and finally beaten this game. Strangely I have yet to see The Collector or even Wilbur. Chirurgeon is a bastard though, should I kill the dudes with him first before I kill him even though hes always healing them? Fought death a few times. Messed up my latest run but I usually win against her.
Collector is very common as of the latest patch, I have encountered the collector at least once every single run I've done, if you want to force an encounter just fight every boss you can, he has an increased chance per trophy in your inventory. I was in a similar boat with Wilbur, actually. fought him once, in the beta, then practically never saw him again, starting thinking I imagined the fight, lmao. Also, with the Chirurgeon, ya gotta kill the minions before him for sure. The little dudes exist to apply disease and debuffs, in which he will then remove in an attack for huge damage. Getting rid of them means removing the moves the Chirurgeon can do. And yeah, death is a bit of a chump. I have a video on my channel of me beating her in about 1 and a half turns.
the ocllector had no positive tokens, my characters no debuff tokens- collector does 32 crit damage 3 times in the same battle i have playerd DD1 and know about how unfair it can get but that was bullshit
@@Deathtizity I feel that. I got a clip on my channel where I fight an Exemplar that 100%-0%'s my Dismas in only 3 turns. Wasn't running any torches that decrease death blow resistance; the exemplar just lucked out. DD2 is definitely more chance than DD1
Afraid not, I use my GFs laptop occasionally when out on the road and it struggles with DD2. There are unofficial patches to lessen the load on your computer, though they take away a lot of the animations so the essence is sorta lost.
It's tricky. It's never really explained canonically. However in DD2, the Academic does give some extra information in passing quotes. Such as implied royalty prior to his transformation.
Yeah but The King in Yellow, the novel, talks about the cursed play and the actual King in extra vague terms - fitting as to read the play fully is to lose your mind - but it gives no insight about this fella.
About the only thigns known about the Collector are that he's an entirely seperate entity from the Heart of Darkness, the Comet and the Iron Crown in general. Otherwise he's a complete enigma. The Ancestor by all accounts has no idea who or what he is, either. Even the part about the Academic calling him a king may more be just an allusion to the robes and the way his head cage resembles a crown.
Grave robber with throwing damage trait, plague doctor surgeon trait, vestal with defense/melee trait, and helion with rank 1 damage trait. Super strong team comp that melts front line and has backline attacks and sustain from plague doctor and defense/guarding from vestal while buffing helion damage. I'd also highly recommend starting grave robber in rank 2 and pirouette at the start to crit enemy rank 1 and 2 and get her to rank 4 so she can toss darts and this moves plague to 3 where she can heal and use incision :)
Ah yeah, sometimes with this particular build, once I start getting consistent crits or crit tokens, I'll take it off. It's good fun, but probably not a great idea, lmao

Listen I don't care enough to argue, I already have my opinion about darkest carriage 2, and seeing this champion fight randomly appear on my recommended tab (I wasn't actively looking for this) that's literally from the first game but in 3D is not helping it's case.

Girl boss parties are very feasible. Had one with PD, GR, Runaway, Hellion that was pretty good
