When I was about 12 years old, my dad and I were in my back garden planting, and (for some gd reason????) there was an old anandoned oven that a bunch of yellow jackets had made their home in. I kept telling my dad I didn't want to garden because I knew I'd get stung, but he kept telling me it'd be fine. I got stung the MOMENT he said it. Right on my hand on the fleshy part between my pointer and thumb. I cried my eyes out obviously. Dad told me to go inside and have mom fix me up. Then I came out later and saw he'd absolutely DOUSED the machine in gasoline and set it on fire, killing all the yellow jackets. Thanks dad. 💖

I know the feeling. A couple years ago I was cutting grass near a hole that voles made in the lawn during winter. Didn't think much of it until the lawnmower was above the hole then I felt the shots in my inner thigh and ankles. I think I must have been stung at least 20 times. The sting sites turned an angry red then several days later the skin started to peel off. Thankfully I'm not allergic to these little bastards. Needless to say the entire nest was not long for this world. So satisfying watching them get some.

I like the idea of making that napalm from Styrofoam. We had the same thing in the garden and seem to have multiple entrance holes - I waited till night time as there was a lot of wasp activity during the day. I pored about 1/2 gallon of petrol down the holes I could find and lit it up. It burned for about 2 hours and I dug the nest out a few days later when I was sure there was no further activity. The nest was about the size of a shoe box and had formed in a cavity left by a buried rotten tree root.

why? 1: it's not napalm that he used. napalm is soap + diesel fuel. 2. all he did was dissolve styrofoam, which is a long chain carbon, into gasoline. it's not like this is rocket science. hell, it's one of the first things they showed us in Organic chemistry lab, which is possibly where this guy learned how to do this as well. ANY long chain hydrophobic carbon added to petrol can have a similar effect on consistency btw. 3. even if it WAS napalm, again, it's not exactly like building a nuke or something like that. this is just basic chemistry. why would YT ban it?

Meat Tenderizer is even better. 1 part meat tenderizer to 4 parts water. The active ingredient in meat tenderizer breaks down certain protein bonds and works against bee venom. I've never tested it against wasps, but their venom causes the same allergy response so I assume they are related enough for this to work.

Looks like your idea worked but my way is more spectacular. Sprinkle a bunch flash powder in the wasp hole at night when they're asleep and cover the hole with a round metal paint can lid. Flash powder is what's used in M80's and other loud fireworks. Stamp on the ground around the hole to wake up the wasps. This will really piss them off and as they stir around they will get coated with the flash powder. In the morning set up and ignite a propane torch so the flame is pointing about 12 inches above the hole. Remove the lid and sit back and watch the fun. As the wasps come flying out of the hole the torch will ignite them and blow them up like firecrackers.

Nasty little buggers! Good job you fried them out, don't need them in the garden. If you had some gunpowder or similar, pour a quantity into the entrance and leave it a while to allow the wasps to spread it deep into their chambers as they come and go. Then add some more and light it up. I tried that trick on a Bull ant nest and got a decent explosion which was great fun! Hope the stings get better Ray.

I used an entire can of fly spray and they ended up belly up for about 30 minutes, then shook themselves off and went about their business. I was gobsmacked, it was scary. Waited until night time and sealed the two access points after putting a a cloth soaked in petrol into the nest. No more wasps have been seen.

This was the first time I made napalm. Looked on the internet for it. There are different products which work but the styrofoam was easiest as I had lots of it.

How, in any way, do you think this warrants being on a watchlist? He put styrofoam in gasoline, that's not exactly some super dangerous top secret thing.

The name "Napalm" comes from NAphthenic and PALMitic. In World War II napalm was made by combining aluminium salts of naphthenic and palmitic acids.

While this is true, it was also made by mixing polystyrene (Styrofoam is a trademark) and benzene (found in petrol) and marketed as Napalm-B.

also... we had a HUGE 4 foot diameter ants nest in our property in town when we bought it. we do a LOT of mechanic work.... were too poor to buy new cars every 3 years, so we gotta fix our old 90's cars and 1977/1980 chevy pick up trucks.....
anyway, laying in the drive way 3 feet from that ant nest wasnt fun..... so we poured some VERY old varnished gas and like half a quart of oil down it and set it on fire....
their are still no ants even to today....7 years later

I loved the how to I will remember it for future use. In the past I have had trouble with Yellow Jacket nests in the ground and I have been attacked several times (consecutive summers) while mowing. I eliminated the nests by pouring gas down into the nest at night but did not light the gas because I thought it might explode. The next morning no Yellow Jackets.
