Ms. Florida is a treasure. A wonderful example of a teacher. I love how she teaches history with documented facts and is positive. Glad we have her videos. Thank you Ms. Florida RIP.
My Mother lived nearby and went to many lectures nearby. Learning all about the history of the state of SC in her retirement. We often went to Brooke Green Gardens. I'm probably sure she attended Florida's classes at some point. SC has available to it's citizens, many opportunities to continue to learn about history.

I thoroughly Enjoy hearing you talk Ms. Florida. You remind me of all the graceful wholesome mothers I grew up around. Your voice immediately transports me back home to the good ole days when you hear wisdom and full sentences from every word those beautiful people spoke out of their mouths. How I miss those days but I cherish my upbringing and the warmth of love I feel inside when I think about it. Thank you Ms. Florida for your life experiences and your story. Love It!!!!

I had never heard of Mrs. Florida and I didn't know much about Georgetown, SC.
I was amazed to hear of the educational opportunities she & her family & community had.
My Dad was born in Woodville, MS & my Mom, Batchelor, LA in 1923 & NO Black child in those places back then were allowed to go to school past grade 6.
Had to move away, if wanted to further your education.

I don’t know if you know it, But you are not only a natural treasure, you’re a blessing.I caught your presentation about our History with your Male assistant. you remind me of my favorite Teacher when I was a young “colored Student” in the Southern segregated school System. I intend to follow you & your asst. to the end of your series, you’re “cool, calm& very confident in your presentations, You have solved the problem(excuse) for those parents who complaining about not teaching our History; you’ve shown that we have competent Researchers/Edicators that have the experience, knowledge of our history, if they’re serious, get ready because I’m about to spread the word about you. God Nless you, you’re our natural Treasure, Keep up the excellent work you’re doing.

Life experiences like this need to be told and received as the norm for black families. Our narrative needs to change. More stories like this of family, love, discipline, rules, hard work, life, education, and goals, will change mindsets of our people and others who never viewed us to have experiences like this. Well done and I pray she is still with us.

She was definitely a woman who embraced new experiences. That generation typically stayed with one opportunity for their entire career, she was open to new experiences. Her journey is refreshing!
