I do the label thing, too, with the younger students- only I use a dotted line font for them to trace their names. I have a class code like 2E=2nd grade Ellis. My drying racks are numbered with their seat number and it keeps the papers in order for me. Just another way of organizing! I love hearing how others organize their classrooms! Thanks for sharing!

Great ideas!! I might need to try labeling my drying rack like that this year. I have several classes back to back. Thank you so much for watching! 🙂

I liked the tip of writing an “a” on the back of the project as well as the seating chart. The tricky part, though, is when they miss the first day of a project. 😮

Good point! I use a ketchup and pickle day to catch up students at the end of the quarter that work slower or were absent. I’ll be making a video about it soon!

The name label idea is brilliant! Easy enough to do and will save me a lot of time running to IC to figure out what class a student is in.The "A" label idea is great too. Thank you for doing this channel! Art teachers are a lonely bunch - no one in our school understands the challenge. They think teaching art is easy.

I think my teachers prefer the labels. The home room teacher pass out the work and send it home. The labels are clear and consistently placed in the same spot on the artwork so it can easily be found. I think you can set up your own role within the school. Classroom teachers do expect you to handle your own behavior issues but will work with you if you are speaking to parents or administrators about issues. I don’t often lend out art supplies or have people ask bc I set that up when I started. A supportive admin helps for sure! In my experience if you are a hard worker,do what is best for kids, and hang up artwork they will support you and your program in many ways. Good luck this year and thank you for watching!
