- I really liked the voices of the judges doing this song as they blended very well with this song..unfortunately i don't think home free's voices fit with this type of song but they did their back up very well lol.

It's a fairly good technique. It gives him the full support for those strong and piercing notes. Notice there isn't a lot of strain in his throat and that's a good sign. Jewel was using improper techique with lots of strain in her throat and that's why her tone came off weird. Always remember you gotta support from the chest and not the throat.

+Nirvana Climo He doesnt even sing harmony. Him and Jewel cant blend with the sound, so they dont. Nick and Shaun do sing because they know how to blend to the group's sound (as they have been in acappella groups). Also, Patrick isnt as good at singing something other than lead, whereas Rob or Chris can sing lead, as Austin sings harmony. He isnt as diverse as the Home Free guys are.

+Nirvana Climo I appreciate that, however, and not to sound rude, but I dont think its opinion: The guys of Home Free, all of them, have more to offer with their voices, like:
Better understanding of singing harmonies (therefore, the ability to sing jumpy or difficult intervals, especially in the bass line, where wierd intervals are very common, like minor 6ths, 9ths, 11th, 13ths. Their arrangement of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" has a perfect example of this.) Overall, better voice control.
Larger range. Based only on songs from youtube: Austin: Bb2 - E6. Rob: A2 - C#6. Chris: Eb2 - B5. Lastly, Including falsetto and non-chest voice techniques, Tim has a range of nearly 5 octaves (minus a whole step), B0 - A.
Ability to blend and mix well with anyone (The Sing Off!, having the blend with the other groups in the opening numbers
Now, trying not to be so one-sided, I definately give Patrick IMMENSE points for his soul and passion in sound. I just think that from a technical standpoint, which is honestly a majority of what makes a good singer, that the Home Free guys top it.
This is why the Sing Off is so special. It's the only show where all the judges AND the host can actually sing and know what they're talking about. Man, all of them were great. Home Free is always awesome, but Shawn's and Patrick's voices are really powerful and beautiful as well.

Music genre and do it with flying colors. Each member of the band is more talented than most. And don’t have a problem keeping up with the judges. This was years ago and they are still going strong and not just in the USA but also as they travel around the world.
