nekoscore isn't the best skill judgement, but I was really surprised I was in the professor tier which is top 1%. I guess this would explain my freaking long queue times. I'm really excited to play in teams for deadlock so ty for this vid
I’ve never really been into mobas before, what would you say is optimal in terms of number of heroes to play? Do you think playing a bit of everyone is beneficial? Main 1 and have a few in reserve in case of big nerfs? Try to main 2-3 and have a couple more in reserve because of pick-ban system?
There's a 1000$ tournament: liquipedia.net/deadlock/Gdolphn/IQON_Cup Seems kinda scuffed though, very little info to be found anywhere, and we registered but haven't heard anything back, so I guess we won't be playing in it
Yeah OCE scene needs some love!! Any TOs watching this, create some tournaments, even small prize pools (like 100$) create life. Let's get the scene popping!
My reaction to the fact that Deadlock has a competitive scene is “damn it’s crazy that people love this game this much,” “y’all know the game’s not out yet, right?” and “Valve better have some immaculate MMR and keep y’all out of weaker players’ lobbies or this game is gonna die hard.” Not meant as shade on people for going hard on the game but the fact that there’s gonna be so many people so good at the game by the time it comes out will absolutely murder the newcomer flow if Valve isn’t on top of it from the word go. It’ll be the problem with Apex Legendary matchmaking on steroids.
yeah you are absolutely right, the downside of "releasing" the game this way as a "closed but not closed beta" means that sweaties will get in and get hundreds or even thousands of hours of practice and minmaxing -- while general playerbase (who wont touch the game until its 'actually out') will be extremely far behind and held down into bronze rank/mmr for a long time.
Nah, when this game comes out new players will play against new players. Good players will be in higher MMRs. I think it will be actually better, a lot of experienced MOBA players started at once with new players and the experience was terrible. I was winning a huge majority of my games. It probably wasn't fun for the enemy team. Now at least it will even out at release.
@@theSato It will be the other way around, because good players will already have proper MMR. MMR is there to match people around their skill level, it's not a leveling system, I have a feeling you don't understand that. General players base will be in low MMR, because that's the whole reason for low MMR!
@@albinouwak4363 yeah mmr is built into the game but has been hidden by devs for the alpha, nekoscore is a fanmade scoring system based on scraping the Watch tab in-game, so it only counts a fraction of the matches being played
Nekoscore doesnt seem to take into account individual performance at all. So far I've just been playing with some friends that are really bad but its fun to play with friends anyway. We win 50% of the time but I am regularly dropping 20+kills and single digit deaths and being top3 in total soul count. I am not a top1% gamer at anything, But I am usually around the top 10% mark in most games. But Neko is just looking at our average game MMR so my Nekoscore is only like 370 right now.
Great vid. I did 3 hr scrim blocks, 5 days a week on an asc/immt team for valorant. All the advice here is pretty sound. I’d add that when you’re working on VOD reviews with your team, don’t be afraid to express your opinions on what went wrong in scrims. Be constructive about your feedback to your teammates and you’ll find more success for sure.
nekoscore is shit because im a mo and krill one trick and im trying to play a different characters but that makes me basically new player a tanks my score so iv stopped caring as much
to be fair, competitive (which this video is about) just doesnt work as a one-trick. so you need to be a bad player at other characters till you improve or you arent of much use competitively
@@kcbsuiejd im starting to play more characters, im saying if i play/learn characters and do bad (which is a given) my nekoscore will go down which really doesnt mean anything. If i or anyone in my boat wants to keep a high nekoscore it deters them from venturing out, so the neko doesnt really matter all that much, in my opinion.
honestly not gonna touch competitive till they add an actual ranked mode, nekoscore is ass and people keep asking for it for teams, most of my games dont even get registered on that tracklock site

i asked about this kinda stuff in the deadlock discord and got no answers. i really appreciate the info deathy!
I imagine most "pros" wouldnt want to tell people this stuff because to them people wanting to go pro are just competition to their spot
how do u do that at 0:29 ??
Do you mean the sideways dash? Hold down a side directional key (A/D) and dash while in the air

Are all the pros in the top .1% of neko tracking? OR basically when ranked comes out, get to top rank and you pretty much become a pro?

You need to have more than one cuz if your one character is picked by the other team first or banned out you don't want to be useless.
Oh my God, Liquipedia still exists? I remember looking up SC2 builds there when I was a kid...
you're on the team tf2 boomers, right? What div did y'all play in tf2?
