Hey everyone. The video turned out great! I had a great time with TriFecta shooting the gun and the video. It had around 3,000 bbs fired before that bucking issue came up. I'm getting a new bucking and will work on fixing the issue. The RDS was sighted too low and made hitting the targets a little harder than it should have been. Also, I had not yet tuned the sear set screws on the Kythera. I'm working on that and perfecting the airseal to improve consistency.
With this gun build being custom, I would have stayed away from Ares had I known the differences with TM V2. I did get the other gearbox and lower to work, but it was not 100% fitting so I went back to the Ares.
Welcome to HPA ownership, hopefully since the Kythera is mechanical it won't break every few game days if it does then do what I did when I got tired of the P* problems and buy a Wolverine Inferno Gen2 or if you like the mechanical aspect the Reaper Gen2 but I like the Spartan trigger board because you can program 3 or 5 round burst or semi lock it and it is the quietest HPA kit by far mine is quieter than my buddies Novritsch MK23 with the can on and mine without a foam filled can
Like Todd said, its all about the fine tuning with these engines. I used mine at a game for the first time today and while it was OK, right after I finished building it the night before, there was still a lot of tuning and adjustments that I needed to do. Alignment of the engine in the gearbox shell is the single biggest thing beyond getting the trigger sorted. that's just the first step. Aligning the body of the engine in the shell is another matter. A few layers of tape on the bottom of the Kythera was what did it for me. Getting that nozzle squarely in the hop unit is key! A standard AEG build is actually a sloppy thing when compared to a Kythera engine build.
All my shots are diving down pretty hard on my kythera, original hop up unit is still installed, psi between 80-100 doesn’t change anything, any thoughts?
You probably don’t need this info anymore, but it can be tuned to shoot pretty well stock, but if tuned improperly it’s kinda trash and will probably just stop working mid game.
Putting fiber glass and chicken wire in the suppressor, even if it's for airsoft can get you in a lot of trouble with the ATF. I would highly advise against it if you have dogs that you want to keep.
@@aden4149 In the US anything that lowers the volume of muzzle report by 1dB is considered by law a suppressor. That requires you have the tax stamp required for it to legally own and use it. Doesn't matter if it's a suppressor, oilcan or and airsoft mock suppressor.
@@Some.Canadian ummm. Then explain .177 caliber air rifles with suppressors from the factory? Airsoft suppressors are -14mm thread and inferior material. 5.56 are 1/2x28. You’re in no danger from the ATF with an airsoft suppressor.
The large tank in the backpack is compressed air, however check out the polarstar UGS which can use small compressed air bottles or co2 bottles in the stock of the gun.
ares guts, and as soon as he said 'maple leaf macaron' i cringed. the feedlip issue is always a result of the ares hop and macaron. Prommy purple bucking fits the ares hop chamber perfectly if you're looking at alternatives
I love the noise the targets make in slow motion. Thanks Todd for letting the guys review the Kythera!

Great video guys
Nice gun. How much do those gun cost?
Kythera alone is $275. The gun as shown in the video...lots more than a stock gun. Join Patreon to see details.
Ares guns are different shape gearbox. But you the gearbox in different receivers like apex elite forcé ect.
I have a gen1 ares m4a1 for ten years.

You guys should look at the Wolverine mtw
I've heard good things about wolverine
Colton Scalf I enjoy mine

Hmmmmm.... making me think about putting a hpa system in emg recce...
Same dude same!
Do it!!!!
Awesome vid. Hearing Good and Bad about the new Kythera. Looks like Todd got a good one.
Thanks. I think it turned out well. With custom building anything, it takes time and patience to workout the issues and fine tune it.

Look up the Polarstar facebook group. Post you question there. Will get plenty of opinions of what you did wrong.

How good is the engine complete stock? I just don’t trust myself enough to make modifications to it

I love my Kythera!!
How is the longer range accuracy? Is it very consistent
@@JoeMaxFpv With higher PSI, heavy BBs, good airseal - people have made great dmr builds. look at the P* FB page
It’s very consistent. I have mine in a krytac PDW. I need to tweak mine some more.

Not stock. I have a Maxx hopup with an rhop’d zci tight bore barrel. And a Speed trigger

just curious but why is it a bad thing in airsoft i can understand a real firearm but not airsoft

thanks for the info brother!
I really love this engine. I would totally get it but I'm broke 💀.
Kythera sucks you would think is a easy setup but hell no this things are so bad to setup you better off buying a F2 or a jack
yeah, i'm surprised that there's not a gun that makes it easier to install this thing.
