Because Whoopi has supported and inspired a lot of people over the years: actors, comedians, etc. Not the least bit surprised that when they come on the show they’d like to take the opportunity to give Whoopi her flowers. It may be a little tiresome for some viewers to see it happen so frequently, but that just speaks to how many lives she has been apart of. If someone supported you in your career that you admired you would want to thank them, or share stories if given the opportunity.
