  • Our first time crossing into Brunei was a rained-out disaster. But this time the sun is out, Marisa is feeling better after her sickness, and we are ready to experience Brunei and its world-renowned bridge for all it’s worth.
Actually, it is up for debate of whether the Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge is the longest bridge in Southeast Asia (more about that in the video), but it’s certainly a spectacle to behold! Brunei might be a tiny country, but it has made a bold statement to the world with its engineering feats and impressive construction. This bridge is not only long, but it’s gorgeous, and riding along it, and passing through its stunning archways is like being transported into another world…

This is a way to get around all of Southeast Asia So if you want to go to the Philippines you have to cross and there you also have to take several ferries to get to Manila and when you arrive in Manila you have to cross to Cebu on the island of Luzon and you will return to Indonesia either in Kalimantan or Sulawesi If you land in Kalimantan after returning from the Philippines you have to walk along East Kalimantan and stop in the city of Balikpapan because that is where you will take the luxury ferry to Java The same thing applies if you land in Sulawesi, but the difference is that you will go along the main road on the island and you have to stop in Makassar or Palu. because in the city of Makassar you will ride a luxury ferry as well as in Palu and the ferry that serves the crossing from Palu is the newest DHARMA KENCANA 5 ferry from DLU the interior is very artistic, full of art. If you stop in Makasar you will be served by the sister ship of this ship (KM. Dharma Ferry 5) and KM. Dharma Kencana 7 The sistership of KM.DHARMA KENCANA 7, namely DHARMA FERRY 7, also serves the Balikpapan route

70% of Brunei is still covered with pristine rainforest, and intend to keep it that way. And by the way, that SHOASH bridge is not fully completed yet, it is supposed to cut through a hill and exit to another side of the city.

@@keangwooichoo6138 well Brunei can afford it....they got loads of oil money and less people. Sarawak and Sabah do not, not to mention a lot more people and scattered all over the state. Not to mention people of Brunei are not agrarian or farmers like many native in Sabah and Sarawak. The Bruneian Malay and Kedayan of Brunei has never been a farmer or have huge farm lands, even the Melanau only farms sago that only grow along the river not in the forest. They are always traders, sea voyagers and fisherman and in old tmes pirate and mercenaries for other states. But the Dayak in Sarawak like Iban for example are paddy and pepper farmer and to plant paddy and peppers you need to cut forest. The Dusun of Sabah are known to be paddy cultivator and vegs farmers, also need to cut forest, and now many of them are palm oil farmers. Yes Sarawak have some oil but its not as much as Brunei and you have a lot more people to feed. In Brunei almost everything is free for citizen, you dint even have to pay tax because the money from the oil. Not to mention the Brunei Malay and Kedayan of Brunei mostly live on the shores or on Kampung air which is on the sea...so they don't need to cut more forest. Can Sabah Sarawak Iban and Dusun live on the sea like them and stop farming paddy and pepper or palm oil and be fisherman instead? NOPE.

do you know the UK consists of 4 countries, that is what almost happens to Malaysia. That's why you have to go thru all of that immigration. hahahaha Sabah and Sarawak was once an independent country for 2-3 weeks before forming the federation of Malaysia with Malaya and Singapore as an Equal partners. both Sabah Sarawak handle their own immigration, even if you are Malaysian from either side and malaya to enter both state, you only get 90 days. But Sabahan and Sarawakian can stay in Malaya as long as they want without worrying about anything.

The bridge is 14 km over water (the Brunei Bay) and 13 km over "land" (through the mangrove jungle) so "longest bridge" is subjective. A mangrove jungle is made up of trees growing in brackish water so... also not-land? You decide.
I've been over that bridge many times, but only twice (once both ways) by bike, because of the _incredible,_ cross-winds.

13:40 Good morning everyone. I want to update everyone how I feel. ( Looking at how Marisa looks at that moment and hearing her uninspired tone in her voice, I was telling myself, not again. She must be still very sick. Then all a sudden she said I feel better and with a big smile on her face. ) Next time when anybody is sick, remember to take chicken soup 🥣 🐔 and rambutan for instant cure recommend by Dr Tim 😂 💉 💊
