2:50 Actually it's kind of a good idea for extra armor (the Swedes and Israelis figured out that fuel almost completely negates the effects of HEATFS munitions), just the Italians were a few decades early
it is a good idea
*if they aren't filled with gasoline*
no like, if they emptied them then it is fine
Sure, the fuel negates the effects of HEAT on a tank, but on an armored car the explosive component would just destroy the car.

I think the BMP 1 even had this on the door. If diesel, less chance of catching on fire.
I once read that telephone operators no longer exists because there was a man with a funeral home and he was losing business because the wife of another man with a funeral home was sending everyone to her husband’s funeral home.
The first guy invented the automatic phone operator and put a whole workforce without a job because of this.
according to wikipedia, the inventor Almon Brown Strowger was indeed a funeral director, but the reason for the invention is not known for sure, but your story is told anectodelly.

7:14 fairly sure the English were being oppressed at the same time as Welsh because the Normans were the ruling class at that time period
They have been the whole time, they just stopped speaking french and pursuaded the English to suppor their own oppressionby telling them they're smarter than the others.
@@duckwhistle Actually they didn't really stopped speaking French ,since 60% of the English vocabulary have a French and Normand origin (Normand is a French dialecte) .
Also Fun Fact :
English is the 4th closest langage to French (If we don't count the other 2 Gallo-Romance langage) with 70% of lexical similiraties (It's the share of words with the same origin between the 2 langage.
Right behind Italian (89%) ,Spanish and Portuguese (Both at 75%) and ahead of Germany ,Dutch and Romanian
Basically :
1-Italian (89%)
2-Spanish and Portuguese (75%)
4-English (70%)
5-German

The V-2 is thought to be the first object to reach low-orbit, but there's a very real possibility that the first man-made object to escape the Earth's orbit was a Las Vegas manhole cover used to cover the entrance to an underground nuclear test. Look it up, the math checks out.

7:50 Qin Shi Huangdi built an enormous tomb for himself, and buried all the workers inside so that they wouldn't leak information about where he was located.
In regards to your Polish axe-gun confusion: a black powder pistol is really only good for 1 shot in CQB, because of how long it takes to reload. So, the axe allows you to blast someone and then use the weight of the weapon to assist the cleaving action of the axe (using weight to enhance the axe is better than trying to use length, as bayonets are typically as long or longer than that pistol)
It's actually a cavalry weapon, short axes and picks were used on horseback a lot.
The Gunaxe is actually a pretty reliable weapon since the flintlock is just close ranged in general and atleast it's not the GunSWORD

2:54 R.I.P. Julius Fučík's dreams
0:55 I have a family heirloom that's a fancier one of these. It's not a bayonet for stabbing, they're build in such a way that they function as axes, you have one shot from this thing and then you're in melee, and I've read stories in my families old books of these things going through leather armor like it's not even there.

3:47 if USA didn't joined the war, im pretty sure the USSR whould have conqured the whole europe. Btw, love your vids
I think people also forget that there was an entire theater in the Pacific. It was the US that took our Japan.
And side note: USSR only joined the Allies 6 months before the US, and the US had been providing vital supplies to the Allies before they entered the war.
Really, really, bugs me when people start claiming the US did nothing in WW2.
"Stupid Pole, you just brought an axe to a gun fight! Hahaha! Say, why are you holding it backwards?
1:00 It's a cavalry weapon, mixing the cavalry pistol with a horseman's axe.
0:47 yeah, but it was a gun for cavalry. It was meant to be fired with little to no aiming and be a fatal weapon in a charge as well. For Infantry, it would be pretty useless, but for hybrid polish cavalry, it was pretty sweet.

That New Amsterdam meme is dumb. The Dutch knew it was a shitty deal but they only sold it because the Brits conquered it during the second Dutch-Anglo war by sailing around the walls they built to keep them out (which is now wallstreet).
Because the war ended up becoming a status quo they exchanged the rights to New York for Surinam and the Dutch Caribbean islands.
Fair deal at the time because the Dutch Caribbean islands had a nice nutmeg monopoly going but too bad they took the entirety of the New-Netherlands which was New York New Jersey and Delaware.
