I just got my first personal sewing machine the singer M1000. This video helped me so much. My grandma taught me how to thread a machine years ago but I forgot. This easy step by step video just helped me SO much!!
at first my machine threaded perfectly fine and worked for a bit, then created a knot while i was sewing and now my bobbin doesn’t go through the middle and make a loop as it should, what should i do?
same. it worked for a few weeks but then it just stopped and I have not been able to grab the bobbin thread since- the bobbin is not sending the thread. Getting frustrating
OMG THIS VIDEO WAS AMAZING! ive never done anything like this, this is my first sewing machine and i didnt get it on my first try lol. I had to really take my time and even slowed down the video to see. IT felt so good undoing it all and the second time i was able to get the top part correct! Thank you so much!
I got the loop out successfully but after I started using the pedal to sew it bunched up in the bobbin area and became a giant knot. I've retried 5 times, but I haven't had any luck
This is so awesome I took a fabrics class in high school where I learned how to use a sewing machine and I always remember that threading the bobbin was one of the hardest things for me but this made it so much more easy to understand!!! Thank you!
Thank You so much for your video.. I was getting so frustrated with the manual..Your instructions were clear & easy to follow...Your video is very much appreciated ❤
Thank you so much. I am very new to this and was worried that I would never be able to understand. I figured it out after a couple watches of this video, glad I did not give up.
When I turn the wheel, and the needle goes below the plate, the needle hits something hard, and will not continue. I haven't been able to bring the bobbin thread up. I am wondering if the bobbin holder shifted during shipping to the store. It seems loose. Could you give me some advice, please?
OMG. I reluctantly had to get rid of my mom's old (late 50s/early 60s) turquoise Singer a few years ago when the presser foot lever broke off and I didn't think it would be fixable. Have been missing it for sewing basic things (i.e. curtains, hems, etc.). Saw this model, a "mender" on sale this week and thought I would check it out online first, to see if it is what I might want. Well, except that it's plastic now, it is so much like my mother's machine that it's scary. It even threads pretty much the same way. Shows how little the technology has had to change in the last 50-60+ years (i.e. if it ain't broke and it works fine, don't fix it!). I will definitely be heading to Canadian Tire sometime in the next week to pick one up.

I can’t get mine to make the loop she got??? Did I do something wring somewhere? From the looks of it, I have everything the same exact way as the video says and shows.
OK so if your bobbin isn’t catching the loop, check where the bobbin thread is if the string keeps getting stuck, that means you need to move it out the way I don’t know how to explain it, but I hope this helps
can someone help me and tell me why I cannot get the bobbin thread to come through. I have watched the video and follow it and my thread will not come through.\
I think my brand new never-used sewing machine is defective - and yes I lost my receipt (not thinking anything could be wrong with a brand new machine.) I followed all these instructions and it still does not sew, just makes a whirring sound. What should I do?
I got a new m1000 and just started using it today. It does the straight stitches just fine but the zig zag setting isn’t doing zig zag stitches. I’m using the needle that was pre installed. I’ve tested the tension and I’m using basic fabric. Is it common to have a timing issue with a brand new machine ? I’m new to sewing machines so it might be something I’m doing wrong.
My top thread is looking fine (I am using the small zig-zag pattern), but the bottom is coming out as a straight line. I used gray thread for the top and white for the bottom and the top has gray zig-zags, but the bottom has gray loops with the white thread just going straight through it. Can you help?
There isn't speed control. You could potentially splice in a potentiometer into the capable and adjust speed that way but you might also lose some power.
Mind didn't come with a spare bobbin. I'm super confused on how to thread the machine. Do I need to buy spare bobbins? Do I need more thread or just use the stuff that came with it? Help!
You only need one bobbin. Extra bobbins are just if you want to change the color of the bottom thread quickly. If you are talking about the thread on top of the machine, you buy that thread and use that to also fill the bobbin. In other words, the sewing machine uses thread from the top and bottom in order to make a stich.
I did all these steps and my matchion won’t sew it just pulles string out I am not sure if the fabric is to thick or any thing but the fabric I use is for Walmart

It worked! Thank you for the video, it helped a lot! As for the loop… my loop came out of the machine very close to the thread so it was hard to notice it at first. I has to separate the thread from the loop in order to realize it fully that that was the loop. Maybe that helps the people in the comments??? If not then I’m sorry and I hope that something else can help with the problem.
