Federer about the crowd after this match: “To receive the crowd support that I did receive, I don’t consider that normal. I always say. Say like it feels like you’re winning, as well, but I felt like I was sort of up in the score, they kept me going, and that’s definitely one of the reasons I still keep playing, because of these moments, goose bump moments. It’s great. It's great. [The crowd] was unbelievable tonight. Was it better than ever? Possibly. Was it louder than ever? Maybe. It was unreal. It's just so nice to feel that they want you to get back in the match, and that they want you to win. They enjoy what they're seeing. Feels like they're getting their money's worth.”
In short, he LOVES this crowd, you guys. Pathetic.
Djokovic though, after this match: “I can’t, you know, sit here and criticize the crowd. I accept the fact. You know, everybody has a choice to support a player that they want to support, and he absolutely deserves to have the support he does because of all the years and success that he had and the way he carries himself on and off the court. No question about it. Me, I’m there to earn the support, and hopefully in the future I can be in that position.”
Oh man I just feel for Novak. I hope when the other two retire (especially Federer), the public will start treating him better as an all-time-great too, and with much more respect. He deserves it so much.

I've been Roger fan since 2001, ever since he had beaten pistol Pete. Since he had been invincible I never got a chance to know about his negative side. But they were revealed by Rafa n Novak. Roger's game is THE most beautiful for a spectator to watch (primary reason for his humongous # of fans, secondary reason 16 majors in 6.5 years -- very tough record to break, obviously attracts worldwide people's attention), his game is creative innovative, his game is stylish, the way he moves his body while hitting various shots is so attractive to the eye to watch, his service motion is so perfect and smooth, and so many such pleasing stuff, which automatically make people become his fans (definitely Rafa n Novak too wud be his fans if they weren't tennis players).
But... I noticed few -ves :
-- Roger doesn't have the PATIENCE to stay longer in a rally. I watched almost every important grand slam match of his more than once. Never felt it's due to age (infact Novak gets tired faster than Roger). Roger always tries to end the point "relatively" faster with an innovative or high speed shot. But it can't work with super talents like Rafa n Novak, and so his failures.
-- Roger's tennis is more deep and more creative, but is not as CONSISTENT as Novak and Rafa. If they push him into a long rally and just play percentage shots, 9 out of 10 times Roger will surely end up into an unforced error. It's inevitable.
-- Guys must've noticed Novak looking towards his box and pointing at his head when he broke Roger in 3rd set (I think). It indicates the RECURRING ERROR PATTERNS in Roger's game, which Novak knows and so pushed Roger in that direction and succeeded (and hence the head pointer). A tennis-layman like me have noticed such patterns too from watching multiple matches. I donno how to write about them in words, but there are few such recurring patterns, some on FH side, some on BH side. I don't understand why talents like Severin Luthi and Ivan Ljubicic are unable to help Roger fix them. If such corrections aren't made I am afraid Roger will not be able to win another Wimbledon, unless Novak loses before reaching the finals.

“16 majors in 6.5 years.” Bro if Novak wins 3 slams again this year then he will break that record by winning 16 slams in 6 years. Also keep in mind that Novak wasn’t allowed to play at the 2022 AO or the 2022 US Open, making it even more astonishing if Novak pulls it off.

Anyway,2015 was a year in which Fed said that he was playing better than in 2005,he beat Rafa for the first time in a few years,he beat Novak and Andy back to back in Cinci etc.Obviously he didn't do as well as he had in 2005 since the competition of 2005 comes nowhere near to peak Novak and Andy in 2015.Novak also had a 5-3 record that year against him AND beat him at two slam finals that year.2012 and 2017 are just other proofs that in terms of tennis years, fed is probably younger than Rafa and Andy.

His record from then on was 19-9 against Roger. Nadal from 2011 on has only beaten Djokovic 10 times for a record of 10-21 against him. So Novak's record against Federer from 2011 is 19-9 and against Nadal is 21-10. So Mr. De Niro do you think the media is biased against Novak? Ummmmm, a little bit, a little bit.

At various stages the 3 players are at different stages, peaking, dealing with form or injury etc so the section of time stats I don't give much credence. Yes Djokovic has certainly been the best overall player since 2011. But what does that say overall? Anyway just saying.. I think Djokovic is awesome btw, I'm a Nadal fan but huge respect to Djokovic. @@travisbickle5279 If djokovic was goat how come he couldnt keep up with nadal and federer in 2007-2010? He was almost the same age of nadal and nadal won many grand slam already at that age, the truth is he just really couldnt dominate nadal and federer when they are still at their best and waited for them to become older and injury prone in 2011 federer was 30 age out of prime and nadal became bulky and injury prone and would end up losing against low rank seed opponent in wimbledon since 2012-2017 while he went to 2006 and 2007 wimbledon finals and won it in 2008 and 2010 in rogers era, then djokovic started sniffing enhancers taking pill enhancers drinking his magic milk shake enhacers to gain an advantage against these 2 past prime and injury prone players this is just a proof that novak will never be the goat he had never dominated nadal and federer at their best and had just a cake walk in a weak era
Even federer 30 age out of prime beat best version of novak in 2011 rolland garros grand slam semi finals then the following year in wimbledon 2012 the much older federer beat the prime peak djokovic in 2012 wimbledon grand slam semi finals to win the title, this is just a proof that federer was way better and was clearly the true tennis goat, he just really got older and became injury prone and his cat like reflexes was never the same, federer went to different era and dominated and won many grand slam while beating the best top players in different era at their best! Djokovic has been in rogers prime since 2007 2008 2009 and 2010 and he only won 1 slam in federers so called weak era while roger won 4 slams in djokovic so called strong era even when roger was 36+ grandpa out of prime! djokovic only dominated the past prime old version of federer while federer dominated and won against any version of djokovic!

This is the standard of American sports broadcasting, far as I can tell. It's so jarring to be a tennis fan when the tour moves from Europe to North America. All of a sudden there is a juddering drop in the tone. The commentators aren't so much commentators as hype men or WWE announcers. Every moment has to be sold at maximum volume and minimum coherence. And when it comes to megastars like Federer, even neutrality is out the window. I believe it wasn't always like this, and maybe there are still great, subtle masters of American sports coverage, but we in the rest of the world don't get to hear them, and certainly not if we're watching tennis. Maybe there are baseball fans somewhere, enjoying their American equivalent of Richie Benaud.
