Wow, that hood was the final piece to give her "That" look. Absolutely gorgeous, imo the best looking and sounding Dart around. Congratulations brother.
When I look at the side light in the fenders. The government told the car makers to do that. Later the car makers made the front and rear lights to be part of the side of the cars. Sounds great.
It would run good good those 340 engines were called giant killers because they often beat cars with larger engines like the Chevelle SS 396 or the Mach 1 Mustang 351, my first car in the summer of 1978 going into my senior year was a 72 Plymouth Cuda, it beat all my friends cars at school, like a 1970 351 Mach 1 and close race I remember seeing his front bumper about even with my door handle, a friends 1974 Firebird Formula 400 on the interstate, there were 4 of us in my Cuda 340 and my friend had him and a friend in his Formula, he pulled about a length and a half on me my car had more weight, but when my Cuda shifted in drive at about 95 mph it was catching the Firebird Formula and I passed him and held it to the floor, I glanced down at the speedometer and the needle was an inch or more past the 120 mph that my car registered to the skipped white lines on the interstate looked like a solid line at that speed. Thank you God for watching over us, I wasn’t going to race because my dad told me not to be jerking that car around but my friends said get him come on get him and I gave in.
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop Street and strip. You'd be surprised at the amount of buffering going hoodless causes over and under the grill. I always liked those '68-'70 Darts. Closest I got to owning one was the 340 6-pack out of a '70 I had built, stroked to 410, head and intake work by an early under stander of it, that went in my '64 Barracuda street/strip. That short replayed 20-25+ times, know my neighbor wondered what throb that song was from on my home entertainment system.
Hey Joe what u know. When are you gonna setup the HP. To really do what that new scoop was made for. Look into W8 or W9 SBM some day or a HEMI…❤👍🏻🏁🇺🇸🙏🏻😎
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop Is there any way because your on the street that you could go to a 4-link or ladder bar suspension ??? I believe that would take care of all of it , maybe !! At this point I think it's suspension more than converter because the 60 fts have been reasonably consistent with your overall runs but the bucking and bouncing I believe Is a suspension that is a little overwhelmed with a 10 second car !!! I believe if you changed it to the RIGHT gear ratio (4.88) it would get even worse !!! What suspension setup do you have now ??? That motor definitely changed a lot of things because of all that massive horsepower meant for the track !! That motor will definitely expose the weaknesses !!! I need to go back to your archives and re-research your car info again my 60 year old brain plays tricks on me sometimes !!! Memory short term challenges me sometimes !!!
@@circletrack7538 yes I’m still working on 60. It is suspension. I have been doing research on Mopar running caltracks and I believe I just need to turn it all the way tight on the shocks. That’s the new plan
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop I really don't know enough about mopars I know racing applications mostly but when it comes to individual makes a models of factory muscle car parts I'm kind of lost !!! Mopars make great horsepower and quality strong muscle car parts !! I shy away from them because they're expensive !!! Out of ford chevy and the mopar family the best muscle car ever built was the 426 hemi Barracuda from 1970 !!! Favorite movies "Vanishing Point" and "2 Lane black top" !!!! Are you familiar with them ???

Sets that Dart off just perfectly. Surprisingly, a hood can knock some time off the clock.
Ya but worth it. Needs a hood for street life!
