It’s changed a bit since my visits in the ‘70s. That rocky overgrowth on the left side of the front used to be a spook house called The Haunted Castle. All of the village has changed. There used to be Gaslight Village theme park, along with Story Town theme park (pre-Six Flags buyout), also Time Town theme park, which actually had a walk-through space flight that was pretty wild. In fact, the two fiberglass astronauts in your Magic Forest video were FROM Time Town! The only other remnants of it is the observatory that you can still see up on the hill of the now-overgrown property. I miss my Space Gophers and Jesper Gassing Trees! Oh, and yes, I DID get to see the diving horse show!
I know I'm a total nerd, but thanks for actually writing '70s correctly. Far too many people put a damn apostrophe between the 0 and s and it bugs the poop out of me.
Thank you for adding this! We used to go up to Lake George twice a year to visit my Grandmother. She has since passed and we havent been up there in ten years. I love the Goony Golf!
Hey Jacob! We were just there on vacation for the 4th po July, and I could definitely hear my voice echo in that mystery spot. I could slightly hear it in your video, but not much. I love Lake George, been going every year since I was a little kid. Hope you had fun! Adam the Woo needs to visit there too!
I’m so glad you’re in upstate NY. There’s so many great places to go. Howes Caverns and Secret Caverns is a must do in Cave NY. Plus Lake placid has all the 1980 Winter Olympics, including the “Miracle “ hockey museum. Plus Santa’s Workshop in Wilmington.
This is so cool. I've actually played mini golf at that Gooney Golf and have a picture with the Humpty Dumpty there! Great memories. Thanks again Carpetbagger for the videos. I love the art and figures at the Goofy Golf. Pretty goofy! (especially the cave man under the Goofysaurus)
When you were in the Chicago area a few weeks ago, you should have visited the Par-King Skill Golf in Lincolnshire just north of the city. One heckuva fun course.
Looks like a fun place to visit. You should go back to the haunted house when they open again. I could hear the difference when you turned a certain direction.
A lot of the holes there remind me of the the remains of Storytown U.S.A. at the Great Escape theme park nearby. Lots of nursery rhyme and fairytale stuff. The park is actually 1 year older than Disneyland.
In New York near the town of Mamaroneck there's a island named Bion Island or Believe it or not island where Robert Ripley lived in, 833 Taylors Lane in Mamaroneck, Ny
I go up to lake George every summer and do goony golf And house of Frankenstein it’s an awesome place it’s awesome that you’re there right now I’m going up soon
Thank you fir being in Lake George we spent close to 20 plus years going to lake George 70’s to 90’s have a lot of pics and video unfortunately it’s all on vhsc formate and we used to sit and watch the high diving horse. A lot of changes in the area over the years in a way not for the better. Actually both forts on the lake has lots of history, seems some of the true stories have changed a bit over the years too bad you missed gaslight village there in lake George was a great place I’m looking it changing all our vhs to digital
Holy shit welcome to the upstate! I live like right next door I would of loved to have met ya! Hope you enjoyed the area, little small but it's pretty nice
There used to be a little haunted castle at Goony Golf called The Haunted Castle. It was off of the arcade that was taped off, and appeared to be closed. That is too bad, bc it was short but really creepy. Goony Golf rules though! Too bad about Dr Morbid's too, but obviously the Mystery Spot is no joke!
Wish you saw the place about 8 years ago. They had a ripley's believe it or not style museum there that had the worlds largest popcicle sculpture and Johnny Eck's personal car!
I could hear the sound difference in that spot. I think the little round wall that almost surrounded you reflected your voice and that's what caused the echo.
I live up here and i have to say im so stoked that you finally made it up here. Ive only been waiting forever. But... how did you NOT go to frankensteins house of wax!?!?!?!?
Hey you-you carpetbagger. Nice to see another vlog. By way, if/whenever you're ever in sacramento, please let me know. So, I can swipe keys to my mom's car, and take you out to lunch! 😀 Don't worry though, I'll throw 5 or 10 bucks in the tank. 🚗 Either way, thanks for taking us on your adventures! 😉
I thought your voice sounded a little like you were down in a barrel, but very subtle. I would have never noticed if you hadn't told us it was supposed to make an echo.
Is it good or bad that I can't hear the voice in Jacob's head? There's an orange t rex in Saugus MA where there used to be a mini golf course... now it is a condo complex and retail space but no one wanted to move it because everyone relied on it to know that the upcoming exit got them off Route 1 on to Route 99. Didn't know it was Goony Golf thing though. Cool!
The weiner shops name is great. Watch out for the tram car please will haunt your dreams at night. That being said me and my kids enjoy watching you. Keep it up mr. Carpet bagger.
There used to be 5 more mini golfs in lake George not sure how many still there. Golf around the world and the USA Fort George mini golf putts and prizes mini golf there was an indoor one somewhere and behind the one restaurant behind the parking lot was a nice mini golf too
4:29, "you can actually step in for your own jail photo opp. Pretend you were stopped at the Canadian Border for having a flashlight." Lol greats moment so far. & Wish I knew you were up in the Adirondacks the last few days. I live less than 30 minutes away. Glad to finally have some recgonizition in a town near me. You might like Saratoga and the Burnt Hills/Ballston Spa area. Gotta check out great escape too.
Tulsa has a spot like that called Center of the Universe. It’s also a concrete circle and your voice kind of amplifies when you stand in the middle and talk. It’s downtown on a bridge close to the “cloud sculpture” near the BOK Tower, a 50 story building that is designed to be half the size of one of the World Trade Center towers, by the same architect. RUclipsr “World of Micah” (friend of Adam the Woo) showed a similar circle at Epcot in the China area. Hi Kristie and Jacob - I’m so glad you discovered the Adirondacks! I’ve always said that is where god lives.
if Jacob is reading the comments section I would love for him to come and check out my haunted house once I get it open. I would love ❤ to have his scream seal of approval 😃😂
Lol! Jump scares get you every time. Even when you know they're coming! Cool video add usual! 😎
Cool! 👍
Enjoyed replay thanks for sharing 👍🏼 😀 😊
Glad you made it to my fun areas in NY!
Great video , enjoyed it 👍
Hope you are enjoyed your time here in beautiful Lake George! Just around the corner from here...
Fantastic Colors ...Nice video Equipment!👍🏽
I love goofy golf courses. Especially the wacky ones like this one. I like all the detail they went threw.
Ahhhh my hometown!!! Lol I drive past goony golf every day of my life and I have to say I’ve never even thought to go in.

OK. I want to hear more of this Canada/flashlight story. Sounds good. LOL

I live in LG and the amount of tourists during the summer is insane, hope you enjoyed it though!
Great video! This looks like a fun place!

@@tallentstravels5727 Sorry, I commented when I first woke up.
I wanted to see you play Goony Golf.
Yep, I can hear the acoustic anomaly
When you were in the Chicago area a few weeks ago, you should have visited the Par-King Skill Golf in Lincolnshire just north of the city. One heckuva fun course.
4:34 - brilliant troll and edit.
Thank you for posting now I’ve been crying for and hour and this has calmed me down a helped me ground myself I’m so thank Jacob 🌿🐝
Fariybread sending blessings for things to be better!
Looks like a fun place to visit. You should go back to the haunted house when they open again. I could hear the difference when you turned a certain direction.
So excited to see you exploring lake George! It’s right up your alley.
Yes it sounds like a echo yes
I don't know how you find all these sorts of weird places, Jacob, but it's admirable!

wish i knew you were there i would have liked to have met you live right down the road
Cool 😀

Cool golf course. And I love those Zombies
I could hear the sound difference in that spot. I think the little round wall that almost surrounded you reflected your voice and that's what caused the echo.
Lake George looks beautiful. Loved the Goony Golf!
For a second I thought the microphone just wasn’t able to pick it up, but you can definitely hear the audio change when you are in that spot
Carpetbagger in my area. Stop by Hyde Park.
You need to go to Fort William Henry especially when they have the reenactment battles.
Hi Jacob, awesome vlog at the goony mini golf 👍🏻😺
It started sounding like you added reverb in the mystery spot, but I know it was the natural shape of the spot
Yes you can hear it echoes
Interesting mini golf course. Too bad some of the places were closed. I could hear the difference in your voice. creepy. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
That golf place looks like that gravity falls cartoon golf place
I live up here and i have to say im so stoked that you finally made it up here. Ive only been waiting forever. But... how did you NOT go to frankensteins house of wax!?!?!?!?
Yes, when you turned towards the lake there was like a echo in your voice
Almost sounded like you were talking in a box for a second 😂
Another fun video, JtC. I really enjoy your videos. Sloth was my favorite Goony by the way 😉 😆🤪
Take care man. Big thumbs up 👍
Dr. Morbids has been closed for a while now. Very sad! Used to be a wax museum actually.
Woah

SO THATS WHERE THE BEACH BOULEVARD DINOSAUR COMES FROM
Was that the steamship Columbia sitting on the lake?
Oh did you check out Fort William Henry??
Is it good or bad that I can't hear the voice in Jacob's head?

The sound effect you hear is your voice echoing off that short round wall of which you are in the exact center of.
Definitely a lot of time, effort and money went into this course.
Well of course alot of went into it.
Nice to see it’s still there
There used to be 5 more mini golfs in lake George not sure how many still there. Golf around the world and the USA Fort George mini golf putts and prizes mini golf there was an indoor one somewhere and behind the one restaurant behind the parking lot was a nice mini golf too
The mic didn't pick up the echo, but I've been there myself and can vouch for the fact that it really does happen. It's incredibly bizarre.
Good one today, carpetbagger 🙂👍🏻
I go to Lake George every year on vacation at a lodge. Beautiful place!

Yessssss. If we had any help in bringing this video to life I'm happy. Said it before lake George is a summer vacation wonderland.
Cool hidden gem , adding it to my list of places to check out 😁
The grim reaper looks like the one from Bill and Ted's bogus journey lol
Were those real guns on the wall in Zombieland?
Cool!!!
I heard a slight difference when you turned to the lake
Your voice sounded more hollow when you were standing in the spot.
Nice swastika windmill at 8:08 there lol
I'm sooo bad at miniature golf. Ugh
👍😎👍
The mystery spot isn’t a mystery! It was engineered that way 😁
@carpetbagger I love ur videos ur an amazing youtuber
👌👌👌👍👍👍
Welcome to upstate New York.u werent far from my house.i hope u drove to the top of prospect mountain.beautiful view
Sorry couldn't hear a difference
Fun golf course
I saw a clown and tried shoving garbage in it's mouth. I'm not allowed at the circus anymore.
I definitely heard a difference. It has the same acoustics as if you were standing and talking in a concrete pipe. Instantaneous audio reflection.
I hope your heading up to lake placid. Awesome town. Not too far north west from where you are. I was just there in February. It's awesome
You + Are = You're. "I hope *you're* heading up to Lake Placid."
Wow I never knew so much in Lake George. Thank u. Hey. May I suggest MT Washington NH. Before weather breaks. Thank u
Mt. Washington is beyond excellent! Insane views above the clouds at times!
My family goes to Lake George every summer and it’s a worth while trip, I request you go to Fort Ticonderoga.
I DEFINITELY heard the difference in your voice lol
8:07 hmm, that sure does look like a swastika to me
There was a eco
Yes I can hear it sounds real echo e
We were waiting for you to do
The Truffle Shuffle
From The Goonies
Dang, when I was little there was a dinosaur exactly like that one (even the same color) at the mini golf place near where I lived in Texas.
Heck of a drive where I live even tho I live in upstate. I would love to visit there someday.
You love amusement parks and Six Flags Great Escape is in Lake George , I would love to see you go there I live in NY too thx
Dude ya gotta start playing these courses. Just walk to the next hole after 6 hits .. I do that for my youngest son and it helps.
6:48 well... that's what happens when you jam a telescope into your eye socket!
Welcome to the Funeral Parlor Saloon, where there's more than one way to get embalmed! 😀
I have actually been in Dr Morbid's haunted house. It was a long time ago but it was cool. Pity it was closed.
if Jacob is reading the comments section I would love for him to come and check out my haunted house once I get it open. I would love ❤ to have his scream seal of approval 😃😂
