- My apologies, I should have test rode the bike before uploading the video, because this sucker is loud!
In the groups and forums, people say it breaks in and the noise goes away. I'm at over 200 miles and it's still noisy. However, I'm still confident that it will bed in and calm down, so I'm leaving it on...
Great clear right to the point videos. Keep them coming. Subscribed!
Thanks Dave, I appreciate the encouragement. Rally Seat on its way, tires soon.
@@CrustyCycle9317 you’re welcome! Curious to hear your feedback on the Motoz tires. those will be the ones I’m getting next.
@davehartsock9106 I was thinking of getting the Rallz set, but also the Desert HT and Dual Venture fronts. Then, do a shootout on the fronts. However, the Tusk 2 Track are so cheap and the Motoz are a bunch of money. Decisions...
Your vehicle is very good maintained. Nice performance.
Thank you, I appreciate your saying so.
Thanks for the video! What kind of skid plate are you using?
Enduro Engineering on the skid plate. I have a video on that, too. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video! I just bought one for my Tenere. Just wondering does it affects your ability to accurately check the chain tension? Thanks!
It does make checking the chain a bit more like guesswork. Just make sure you don't get it too tight. I have about 2k miles on it, and I'm still happy with the part.
@@CrustyCycle9317 Thankyou for your reply. I guess at a pinch you could drop the slipper off, check the chain, put it back on, and get an idea of where it sits with the guide back on? PIA perhaps but might give me more peace of mind initially
@jimclayton4495 Maybe, adjust the chain how you like it. Then, install the slider and note the measurement?
@@CrustyCycle9317 Yep! I might give that a shot. Thanks mate
Thanks for the video! I've been eyeing on this. Do you think it could fit on my CFMOTO 450MT? Looks a lot like the T7 from a design perspective.
I really can't say on the fitment. I will say, after 1200 miles on it, I'm happy. If you can verify it will fit your machine, I recommend it. It's a little noisey for about 300 miles.
@@CrustyCycle9317 thank you for the prompt reply. You got a new subscriber.
My 450MT came with an OEM chain guide…
Hey mate, does it rub the plastic on upper side of guide? Because mine did. And it is loud as hell for first use :(
I'm not sure if it was hitting the upper part of guide. That makes sense though, I'll have to look. It was definitely slapping around and making a bunch of racket. I think I have about 700 miles on it now, and it's all good, rarely notice it. I do run my chain at the tighter end of the specification.
Hi!
Did the chain guide break in (noise got away)?
I put a pipe on the bike, also Tusk 2Track tires. So I have a little background noise now and haven't noticed it since.
@@CrustyCycle9317 Thanks!
Why noisy?
The sliding surfaces are hard plastic as opposed to rubber. It calmed down after a few hundred miles. I no longer notice any drive noises that are excessive. It's a good quality part, and I still recommend it.
@@CrustyCycle9317 Thank you for the feedback!
@Welter87 You're welcome.
