For a joke, the Adventure Time elements do make a sort of sense; Fire and Ice obviously represent high and low energy matter, but Candy and Slime likewise epitomise highly structured, colourful, discrete matter and entropic, disordered, uniform sludge.
Sad that Bionicle didn't get more of a look, the quirks of that setting are what got me into this sort of thing.

You've barely scratch the surface with Ninjago:
All elements come from dragons from the First Realm, except Water and Wind (and Storm and Wave too, according to different sources, but those are Wojira using the amulets), they come from Wojira, a sea snake who lived before the island of Ninjago was created, and Amber, an artificial element created by a Skylor's ancestor who was jealous of the elemental monsters, it allows the user to temporarily copy other elements
Vengestone can neutralize elemental powers, and Chronosteel can capture them
The elements of creation combined create Energy, now labelled as Life, but the element Creation itself is owned by Master Wu, likewise Destruction is owned by Garmadon
Life(Lloyd)/Creation(Wu)/Destruction(Garmadon)/Darkness (Overlord)/Golden Power(First Spinjitzu Master)(also called Light) are one step above the elemental powers, they're elemental essences, directly descended from FSM, a being who created the island of Ninjago, the Realm Crystal and 4 other Realms; his powers came from his Oni/Dragon hybrid ancestry
If surrounded by a large amount of their element, the master can perform Spinjitzu burst(which doesn't require prior Spinjitzu training)
The Time element can be split in up to 4 "sub-elements": Forward /Slow-mo/Reversal/Pause
After the Merge, multiple new elements appeared, some of them similar to older ones(Plants/Heat/etc.) but others are completely different(Size/Surface tension/Balance/etc.);this suggests 2 options: 1.They're counterparts to Ninjago Realm's elements from the other realms prior to the Merge 2. They were created by the Merge itself
The Source Dragons created/gave birth to the Firstbourne, the dragon from all which all dragons and elements come from, making them above elemental powers, controling aspects of the universe(Energy/Motion/Strength/Balance/etc.); They're the physics to the masters' chemistry essentially
Higher classes of dragons can charge masters with elemental power, increase their powers temporally

As a geologist, I'm still waiting for my rock-based elemental system

My girlfriend, a studying geologist (a geologf, if you will), slammed her hands down with a wild look in her eyes, and said “Now that’s what I’m talking about.” while playing Stardew Valley (on my computer).

D&D has a fairly comprehensive & solid elemental system. You have the roots, you might count positive & negative material (or energy, life & death energy) & then you have demi-elements between the roots (mud between water & earth, smoke between air & fire, etc) & then there’s quasi elements like electromagnetism (there’s a monster called a ‘Shocker’ which puts two in the something one in the something) shadowstuff (for illusions), & such. It’s pretty detailed at least in AD&D which is what i play

Oh & how could i forget time! Time elementals come & kill you if you try to time travel or mess about with time. They have an extra dimension & can attack you at all points in your lifetime at once

I think Ground and Rock Types are separated becaues Ground is considered soft and gentle while Rock is a solid that's hard. Just guessing because you're right. As a Pokemon fan, I kinda did wounder why they separated them and that's not the only Typing. Like why Water and Ice Types are split when they're just the same thing; H20 that's ether solid or liquid. 🤔😅💖👍

TBH what your describing as 'Ground' I will describe as 'Dirt' and I'll describe 'Ground' as rock and dirt.

I would be interested on your thoughts on a couple other elemental systems, namely the color pie from magic the gathering and the aspect wheel from homestuck.

@@ElementFreakYT you could use that argument to say every franchise you mentioned is unoriginal. I liked the video but not including Naruto in a video about elemental systems in pop culture was definitely a miss.
