Its hard for new fans to understand the influence bigbang had on the genre. Both BTS and Blackpink were heavily influenced by them in different ways. They really revolutionised it, but managed to stay relevant and at the top in like three different eras of kpop. And all are extremely successful soloists in their own right. especially Taeyang -the mohawk singer, and GDragon - the one with the weird hat. You'll see GDragons name pop up everywhere, pretty much every group after bigbang has one or two people that were directly inspired by him.
It's kind of impossible to explain how much of an impact Big Bang has had on the music scene in Korea. They really changed the game and every member is a household name. They really set the standard for groups producing their own music, fashion, and most importantly not fitting the kpop idol mold and doing their own thing.
The OGs! Kings! You should check out more of their songs! They were the ones who introduced more of an edm sound to kpop genre (back in 2008-09), lightsticks, fandom names, dyeing hair with each comeback and bunch of other things that are vital part of today's kpop.
