I'll be interested for sure to see what you guys come up with to save these blocks. I have 3. Two were overheated and one was not...all cracked in the no 2 journal. I bought a complete 16V from China for a fwd config and modded the block to bolt up...changed the slugs and head and pan and converted to an 8v. I mistakenly bought aftermarket valve springs for a stock 8v...costly mistake there. I left the 16v oil pump in place...the 8v pan blinds off the sensor hole...
I got the concept but have to have a special bolt made. Possibly some specialty tools also. Like a foot long tap. The plan is to drill from the passenger side through one of the engine mount holes. Then mill it down a bit so a bolt head will pull the crack closed. The bolt would have a threaded stud going in the opposite direction so the mount would still have two bolts and a nut on the two way thread bolt.
hello sir, I actually cannot ask you via message cause I live in costa rica and it seems you don't use instant message apps like whatsapp, I wanted to ask you if the 16v is a good option for buying "blindfolded" as in, I cannot open the engine unless I buy it but the guy just rectified the block which could mean it got hot and at least the head gasket got damaged and needed to be replaced or should I just get a 1600 8v, or should I remain with th 1300 and overhaul it? I just want more power or to go faster and not have cars behind me on even the slightest hill or when wind faces me
Hi Myron. Is it possible to use multipoint injection from 1.6 on 1.3 8V? I am not ready to swap engine but i want to squeeze some ponies from stock 1.3. It is EFI 1289 cc. Plans include: header, hi flow muffler and catalysator, maybe cam and hi compression pistons. I will run 29 or 30 tires and i am considering put 4.16 or 5.14 gears.
Money fixes everything so sure a custom intake manifold might be conceivable. In 2005 the MY-Fi was a four injector plate using VW multi port injectors. In PR they are adapting Mitsubishi programmable efi MPFI using adapters.
Hi!, Viewer all the way from Australia here!. I just have a question, I have a G16a 16V block and a G16a 8V Head. Are they suitable to put together as is or will I need to change pistons to suit? Everything else seems to line up just unsure if they will go together without any damage being done. Cheers :)
Great info as always!
Will be saving blocks. Thank you
MY the Zuk Master dropping more knowledge and thinking out of the box to fix those cracked blocks!!

Yes Sir
In Colombia we have a lot of parts from suzuki samurais too maybe we could get some deals here for you!
Love the vids man, have you herd of anyone running a single point fuel injection intake on a 16 valve head?
Nope but if it was a big enough injector it might be possible

Reliefs are different in the 8v pistons and 16v pistons. They must be matched to head type.
