I remember a few years back we hosted TSU for a football game, and I had the absolute privilege of getting to be in a joint performance with their band and ours. To this day I remember them being one of the most jaw dropping bands I’ve ever seen. We watched them rehearse their portion of halftime and I remember just geeking out with my friends with how crazy good they were! You can just tell that they put so much into everything they do. Forever grateful to have that experience, and I love seeing them create amazing music!
I appeal to all TSU alumni, followers, associates and the "to whom it may concern" this band and entire organization has been given a gift "your band director". You need to appreciate and cherish this man for however long you'll have him! Look at your band now as opposed to before!!!! See what you have an appreciate it!!!
He's where he's supposed to be. Not only is he good for TSU, he's good for the SWAC. Houston is the 4th largest city in the country and the work of Simmons, Stamper,Hunter, Dr. Pollard will bring good attention to the university. And just maybe, their efforts will be the catalyst to getting a 50K stadium on campus that could host a series of SWAC events.

Texas Southern always been smooth though. I remember when I marched with Morris Brown and we played Texas Southern them boys played Going in Citcles and marched in circles. That was one of the coldest shit I’d ever seen.
