It's me again searching Buddy Emmons and I find you playing this. Absolutely amazing job, gives me chills just like the maestro. I'm going to buy me a steel and hopefully learn how to play this. #bucketlist 👍👍👍
Herby Wallace made a tablature (in the '70's) that shows every note that Buddy Emmons played on his "Danny Boy" recording. Not sure this tab is still available; since the great Herb is passed on; but it might still be available. May Jesus rest Herby's soul,
This tablature is in De Whit Scott's pedal steel guitar tuition book , Not sure if it is in the "Steel guitar Method" book or his "Anthology" .......memory tells me it could be his "Anthology of the steel guitar".
Yes Dottie Rambo wrote Christian lyrics to Danny boy with permission and called it he looked beyond my faults and saw my need. She wrote over 2200 songs and was one of the best.
Eric Rhoton, thanks for the kind comments! This was one of those songs I tried learning when I used to practice lol. My 1st teacher Tex Adair used to love playing this song and I absorbed a lot from him.
Hi Eric Rhoton , yes indeed! 3 pedals (standard ABC), 3 levers (1. Lower Es, 2. Raise Es, 3. Lower string 2 a whole step and string 9 a half step). 4th lever is optional. I’d raise string 1 a whole step, string 2 raise a half step, and if you have a third rod raise string 7 a whole step. Let me know when you get a steel and I’ll walk you through it.
😢Beautiful
Well done. Perfect vibrato.

Play That Steel Sweet Steve My Friend
Thank you John!
Good rendition to Big-E. Very few left-handed steel players, to my knowledge.
Vibrato technique is perfect.
Jim M , thank you! This was quite a while back 🙂

Herby was a true master. I had the pleasure to hear him play once at a Dallas Intl Steel Guitar convention. What a sound!

Damn good job man! I would love to able to play that. Pat yourself on the back. Not anyone can play that.
You have alot of his notes! How long how hard was that to figure out? Amazing

Is this able to be played on a 3 pedal 4 knee lever steel btw?
