HI Guys, there are a few comments as to why there is no speaker out? Pretty simple It is 600 watt into 4 ohm. The internal speakers are matched to 4 ohm to get the full output of the amp. The single 15 version is a 4 ohm speaker. The 2 x 10 is two 8 ohm speakers in parallel resuling in 4 ohm. Any speaker attached would bring the impedance below 4 and could overdrive and/ or overheat the amp. It is probably not designed to operate 4 ohms. To enable use of an extension cab they would need to automatically disconnect the combo speakers atteh time of plugging in the extension. Chances are folks may think that is too much of a trade off or may get confused and think the have a problem
I own a b 200R, if you are looking for a clean amp that cuts nicely. This is your amp. Also if you do buy one, make sure you test if before purchase. These amps are now made overseas and some lack quality. But if you find one that works, killer amp. You may also want you swap the pre amp 12au7 (Groove Tube) for a jj/telsa 12au7. It really brings out the richness of the amp. Cheers.
Like this guy a lot. He does a good job of explaining the amps features & knows what he's talking about. And he's right: why doesn't a 600 watt amp have a speaker out? It's dumb! Finally, Owen plays some cool bass lines - talented.
Reading the manual and its specs sheds light on what the reviewer sees as the combo's shortcoming. The amp is rated as 600w @ 4 ohms. The 15" driver is a 4 ohm driver, so the amp won't handle any additional speaker load. Each 10" driver in the 210 is 8 ohms; when connected in parallel again produces the minimum allowed load of 4 ohms. It looks to me like Ampeg thinks the better solution is to run line out from one combo into the input of a second combo, if you need more power. Just a guess...
If you use an active Bass be sure to use the right input. (-12DB). Also check your battery. For a passive Bass, use the 0DB input. I use it for one year now, it's a brilliant amp and loud enough. trust me.
You don't need an extension if the internal speaker is 4ohms. I suppose AMPEG should consider an 8ohm version with the option of a speaker out. My B220R has a 4ohm 15" and therefore gets ALL 220watts w/out adding an additional cab. The biggest problem with AMPEG now is their dreadful quality control.
I had the Ampeg BA210, which had the same fatal flaw - no speaker out. The 10's they used were incredibly inefficient, which made me long for the speaker out even more.
Providing an external speaker out would probably deeply cut into the sales of their other bass heads and bass cabinets. Why go and buy an SVT-3 and a couple of cabs if you could buy a BA300 and one other cab?
I got this combo and I don't know why but it doesn't seems to be as loud as 600W should be in my opinion. I couldn't hear myself loud enough with one guitar and drums. This is not cool.Though combo sounds good I'm looking for something else.
Doesn't just the BA300 have a single 12AX7? Afaik the BA600 have two of them... But what is the difference in tone between the 115 and 210? And how does that amp sounds in high gain?

Finally a thorough review by a knowledgeable individual.

Nice Janes Addiction riff 🥰
I guess ampeg agrees with you so much that the amp by itself is so great in all its awesomeness you dont need a line out.

@TheArmogohma thanks, good review too
Ooooops....I meant B200R...it is in fact 220watts @ 4ohms though.
I'd like to hear the cab with the 10's

i think that the preamp has (1)12au7 and (1)12ax7

cool bass, cool amp. I just can't stand an sm57 on guitar cabs let alone on bass.
Are the 600W all there, or does the cone start to fart when driven loud, like the little Portaflex?
Are the 600W all there, or the combo starts to fart like the Portaflex series when driven high?
Did you try it? I was looking for Ampeg combo, but I am suspicious on quality of it?
do the 300 watt models also have the same features? (two chanels, tube pre-amp)
Anyone knows what the street price in Canadian $ for this amp ?
@gearwire It's british for ugly. Don't worry, it's a beauty!
I need to find out how to play that intro at the beginning,please any tips?

I'd rather mic a bass anyway. A line out should however be an option.

Aren't 600 Watt not just...hm... FUCKING LOUD? :O
Fuck this amp. I brought it today and there's this mad rattling sound coming from it when you play low notes. Stay away if you want my advice.
