So excited for new people to be introduced to this world! I def recommend reading the books, they’re super easy breezy to get through and fairly short. But I really think this show will do a phenomenal job adapting the source material for new and old fans alike!
@@ContinuouslySidetracked honestly up to you! If you want to be able to catch little references and easter eggs I’d recommend reading them first! But if you want to be introduced to the world first and then flesh it out more you can wait till after watching :)
Isn’t quite the same? It’s not out yet. All we have is the trailers and the few scenes revealed in NY recently it’s a bit unfair to say it’s not like the books when what we have seen is pretty accurate
The showrunners have made Black Sails, they're experienced. That's a good sign,if I had a nickel for everytime a fantasy book show had showrunners who are products of nepotisim I'd have two nickels.
I say at least read the first book before watching the series. This way, you won't be confused as to what is going on per say. I'm really excited for this series because the trailer looks like a scene by scene replica of the books and Camp Half-Blood looks amazing!! I'm a huge fan of Percy Jackson and I'm super exited for the tv series and also to read the 6th book in the series the Chalice of the Gods!
One of the main points of the main female character is blond hair and gray eyes so which triggers some people including myself since she is an aftrican american with black hair here but there was only 1 other inaccuracy from the book which i hope is like the movie and how they resolved the inaccuracy which was that in the fight with that minotaur he never had his sword and the movie made him immediately drop the sword and then he fought it with the same weapon as the book
Bestie it’s not that deep. There are plenty strong blonde characters to love and Annabeth is my absolute favorite character in the books but I didn’t think twice about the casting. Annabeth’s whole character is based upon her mind, choices, and actions and she actually hates being judged for how she looks. Considering how often young black girls get pushed aside or underestimated I think this is a smart casting choice for the character
Annabeth's blonde hair has nothing to do with her character though. Annabeth goes against stereotypes put on young, athletic, and strong girls, nothing to do with 'girls with blonde hair'.
@@ipurpleu1668the whole blonde hair thing was "Everyone thinks I'm dumb based on my appearance but I'm actually strong and capable" Which VERY easily translates to a black girl. I don't think it would be a problem if she was anything else either but really no one can complain about the spirit of the character being lost.

Should I read the books before or after?

Even though the show isn’t quite the same as the books, I think it’ll still be good in its own way.
I hope it can live up to them

PLEASE PLEASE READ THE BOOKS YOU'LL APPRECIATE THE SHOW SO MUCH MORE
That’s what I’ll be doing on stream this Friday
Im super hyped for you to explore the world of Percy Jackson :)) I loved the books so much, totally recommend them
Im reading this book for a book report :D
I'm soooo happy that this TV Show is already bringing new people to the fandom!
I’m really excited for it, it looks awesome!

i'd love to see your reaction to the books
Do you think I should read them first or watch the series and read them after?
@@ContinuouslySidetracked I always prefer to read the books first but I think either way will be enjoyable
I love the book and so excited for the show
It better be a banger
1:26 the actor who plays Percy is Walker Scobell, he played young Adam in the Adam project and played the main character in secret headquarters.
As a fan of the book this is the best thing that will happen to me in a decade especially since the movies were disappointing

It’s never gonna be completely the same as the book and I think that’s a good thing changes are gonna be made in all adaptations and that’s okay
