    I grew up in Whittier during the 50's into the 70's & love the community but saying you can see Catalina from some of these homes in Some neighborhoods you showed is a bit of a stretch 'Yes, after a winter rain and/or a Santa Ana condition the View can be beautiful... & Poss one can see an outline if you will of where Catalina might be- My folks almost purchased a home in 'Starlight Estates' at the the Top of Greenleaf Ave in the Early 1960's that had such a view 'was hoping my dad would go for it... but, it was a Tad high for him as well as it's Prop Tax back then & He was the Only breadwinner in Our household a few moons ago...

    I really miss my hometown. Last place I lived was on Rutland Ave in South Whittier. 1977. I wonder how much you have to make to qualify for one of the homes there now. Just a dream I guess... 😮‍💨

      Hello Clinton, thanks for reaching out. Here in Whittier the average price for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with some upgrades is approx. $675,000 - $750,000. It has been a pretty hot Sellers market the last few years. Let us know if you decide to move back. Willie Garcia

    Hopefully uptown Whittier area don’t turn into other immigrant hood and there kids running amok like in a lot of LA hoods. I live East of Michigan park and have friends in uptown and I see how that are is turning ghetto, including ilegal food vendors posting up anywhere they feel like it and not paying there fair taxes to the city like everyone else.

    Wow this video makes Whittier look like a nice area. It's not. It's just average. The Spyglass development was built decades ago and sure, they were nice for their time but a lot of the houses now are fixer-uppers and the houses are over-priced in California.
    Most of Whittier isn't very nice and it's a higher crime area. Near Whittier College the neighborhoods are a bit better, but very crowded and parking is always, always, always an issue.
    Nice job on the video, but looks can be deceiving.

      Maybe you were only exposed to the "just average" crime ridden areas of Whitter so your point of reference is limited.There are some really beautiful areas with elegant homes that are not crowded and are quite exclusive. Some of the views from the hills are to die for. Like any city Whittier has its good and bad.

      @datalore6187 have you been to Murphy ranch park by friendly hills? It’s one of the safest area of Whittier and have rich neighborhoods. Also, Rose Hills of Whittier is also another safe area of Whittier.

    • @BenMonares
      @BenMonares 11 месяцев назад

      Moreover, any areas of Whittier that borders La Habra Heights are nicer to live. I think you said it’s a crime area because you’re from either downtown or other main area of it
