  • On this video I share with you my mindset and thought process about board selection for a very special event, The Rincon Classic in Carpintería, CA.
This video is for longboarding nerds alike!
    Synopsis:
Choosing the right equipment for The Rincon Classic. Considered one of the best point breaks in America and the world. The wave is fast and powerful with potential of hollow sections that can provide tubes.
Based on the amount of time surfing my 9’6” William Dennis Surfboards Tommy Dane 2 Model, I’ve decided to give this board a go. The board is on the wider side of the spectrum for the speed of Rincon, however, it should perform more than well as long as the rider (me) doesn’t choke and mess it up!
    See you in da wata!

Interesting… I think the the 9’6” is a no brainer cause of your comfort on it. But I gotta add a couple boards to the quiver cause we often have fast waves here in NJ and that 9’2” would likely be quite a fun board. Good luck with the event!

how do you think a 9'0 would work with the same dimensions of the 9'6?

Generally speaking, the dimensions would work on a 9’0” imo, but surfers size is relevant to answer the question.
