    -Wiggle shift knob when in neutral
    -Mean face when driving is a must
    -Bridgeport

    -At red lights rotaries are the coolest cars
    -Bridgeport

    -Neutral is more than a friend

      i dont see any issues, the hopping is a known issue of the puck clutch and a lighter flywheel.
      you no longer have the mass to idle and the clutch is lcoked in place.
      you float the clutch or keep 10% throttle because you removed things that prevented this, in an effort to get better response.
      but now you stall and lost low end power... and didnt tune the idle to coast in gear, why i dont know?

    • @devilsoffspring5519
      @devilsoffspring5519 Месяц назад

      Nobody said you can't street it. It's impossible to get them through emissions tests though so states/provinces that need the exhaust sniff test for registration aren't going to let you so it. They are absolutely horrendous when it comes to pollution. They are AWFUL.

      Unfortunately you have the idle set so high that you never hear the brap brap.
      Get yourself a weber that has a choke, drop the idle down.
      As for your BP surging at low revs, I have never known of anyone with a 50mm weber. By far the most common is a 48mm with extended fuel bowl.
      I think your rotary needs just a small amount of proper setting up for it to be so much more driveable.

    Thanks for making this video, it reminds me of when I used to street drive my RX4 with 13b bridgeport and 51IDA Weber (48IDA bored out to 51mm, also had an extension welded onto the fuel bowl). The best thing I ever did with that combo was change from F2 to F11 emulsion tubes - mid range power improved significantly. I don't know if that will translate to your carb and 12A , but it may be worth experimenting with different emulsion tubes if you haven't already. It looks like your 12A goes well and it sounds great.

It had a stock exhaust and the intake made so much noise I got pulled over for, but there wasn't an Idaho statute about intake noise, so I got off. You can street them, people have done it forever. It won't wash in states/provinces where exhaust emissions testing is necessary to register your car though because bridgeported engines produces an absolutely *MASSIVE* amount of pollution. They are just completely, utterly terrible for that. They are also really picky about exhaust system backpressure so you'll just kill most of the power increase by using a cat converter in the exhaust--and that goes double if you want your car to be reasonably quiet.
    Stock ports and a good turbo system are what you need for lots of power and keeping the emissions from getting totally ridiculous, and that's why Mazda did it that way.

    I would trade the slight power increase from putting an electric fan instead of an engine driven fan over the slight power increase of running no air filter any day!
    And not to be a dick, but running no air filter is the silliest thing someone can do to an internal combustion engine. It’s not the leaves and cigarette butts and crickets You have to worry about sucking in, it’s the tiniest particles that float freely through the air that are able to get in between load bearing and sealing surfaces…

    Dude where did you get the cosmo I've been looking for one

  • @84gssteve
    @84gssteve 3 года назад +5

    An old school trick you should do is to use a stock 2nd gen leading coil to wasted-spark fire the leading plugs. It eliminates the need to run the leading plug wires through the cap/rotor system, it adds a third spark at the very end of each power cycle supplementing the stock trailing system, its practically free to do, and if you add an MSD box you can end up with 5 to 10 sparks per power cycle as opposed to the factory 2. After airflow, ignition is the most important thing you can improve on a rotary, due to their poor combustion chamber dynamics.

    • @RADPotential
      @RADPotential  3 года назад +1

      For this one I just have hotter coils, nothing too crazy! The next rendition of this engine will be 10k plus rpm and a fancy ignition system will be needed foe sure!! I have done the MSD box with direct fire leading in the past. It worked great!!

    coming off the holly sniper videos I can't help wonder how the sniper would do with a bridgeport? it seems to me the 4 barrel would be more desirable for that application, but could the 2 barrel sniper handle it maybe? new to rotarys here and no where near bridgeporting just curious on your thoughts a little.
