It's funny because all of the butthurt QOTSA fans / Anti Billy Talent people are getting to completely wrong message from this. If you listen closely, Ben and Ian are actually AGREEING and SUPPORTING Josh. They are basically saying how he had the right to do so.

Well, everyone but you knows that rock and roll is about the music, not the temper of the lead singer. And QOTSA is, including bad temper or not, currently one of the best rockbands on earth.
Their voice sound so beautifully when they talk together, indeed!

Billy Talent is one of the best canadian bands ever. Queens is a very great band as well.
I remember when Billy Talent came to Winnipeg, Manitoba. At the end of the concert he said "I know you guys are gonna get your NHL team back."
& look Winnipeg bought the Thrashers & we got the Jets back.

Josh Homme's one of the coolest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. I've met a shitload of bands for my radio interviewing job, both Billy Talent and QOTSA included. Billy Talent were pretty cool, they were just like 90% of all the other bands I've interviewed.
But Josh gave me a totally different vibe. He was very straight-up. He commented on how I dressed like a chick, then proceeded to compliment my ZZ-Top belt. The whole interview was very fun and it gave me a load of respect for him.
Billy Talent is the BEST band ever...

Just to clear it up, Josh Homme is the lead singer/guitarist of Queens of the Stone Age. He's also been in Kyuss, Eagles of Death Metal, and he's touring right now as part of Them Crooked Vultures. I don't think Josh is homophobic, he was just pissed about some kid throwing stuff at him. I'd do the same thing as him, to be honest, lol.

@uiruu Actually according to music theory, it's still considered music. But if that's the case then you can't say that Gregorian chants isn't considered a form of music either. Personally, I wouldn't say that most death metal bands you listen to is music but hey.

The idea is that it's a private part of the anatomy, used for reproduction. Through that 'taboo' stigma, immature people think it's funny to "go there", and after years of using it in skewed context, it just becomes another way to say 'coward' or 'idiot', incorrect definitions ofcourse.. but even in the primal form, it's not really about the gender. Though you can say "by extention, the fact it belongs to so and so makes using it in bad context derroatory to said individual".. it's just not.

Also, whatever the case.. you may, by a very selective and literal understanding, be able to produce something that could be *perceived* as derrogitory in a very text book form, but it's such a reach to make it so to a point where even if the root idea behind the slur wasn't weak enough..... Yea you can make your *case* that it's objectification, an extremely mild form that most people wont conclude - and takes a bit of standing on your head to see it that way, but is it -really- objectification? Things aren't allways what you can make them mean, - Politicians know this and exploit it daily.. it's almost a fallacy to equate to it. Should anyone who has a "dick" or a "pussy" be offended when they hear it in that context? I sure hope not.

That's just a 'By extention' implication. You might be able to support the logic in theory, but that doesn't make it so. For example you chose to view femininity as the 'opposite', black and white rendering an accused lack of masculinity as an insult to both genders. However - it's more of a counterpart, it's not a see-saw. the 'inity's' are just a cliche measure of gender based ideals. The term woman being used as an insult on a man only means he lacks masculinity, not that women are bad.
