I am a Scorpio fan having used 5 Scorpios over last 20 years. However when I was looking for a change, I looked at almost every car in the market including the Thar... EXCEPT the Gurkha. And then one day, I saw it on Zig Wheels .... and I was lost. Without thinking twice, I bought the Gurkha (Green color)... I drive at 100 to 120 kmph and it's manouverability is good though I would not recommend 120 due to the height... all in all, absolutely delighted!!!!
@@evkagyan8598 in Gurkha it's really RTO approved and legal but I don't think so that everyone will need that ultra Max off roading in daily life so either go for the bolero or Scorpio instead if u need a off roader
I have a petrol manual Thar and I couldn't be more happier. I live in Mangalore and it is a heaven for off road enthusiasts so I use my Thar for what is is intended for. My Thar has taken me to extreme places where even older mahindras struggle. And the comfort is as good as a decent sedan. Regarding shocks, I was not expecting a lot from a Jeep and it really is not a bothersome deal for me. It all depends on your driving. I have taken kids and people who have hardcore motion sickness issues but have not had any issues in my Thar even in hardcore ghat sections. Like I said, it is all about understanding your vehicle and adapting your driving to it. You said in one of your videos that the reason you didn't opt for a petrol Thar is to avoid range anxiety. While I personally haven't checked the mileage of Gurkha, I believe it gives around 10kmpl which is equivalent to a petrol Thar. Regarding nvh levels, I believe force have done a good job with damping engine noise. However, a rudimentary engine is a rudimentary engine. Years down the line, the noise levels are going to be evident as in most old diesel vehicles. Space, yes. That is the only thing I crave for in my Thar. Other than that it has given me everything I could ever wish for in a 4wd vehicle. Also, unless you live next to mountains, for most of us, they form a fraction of the journey. Majority of the time is spent on highways to reach the mountains. And that time is crucial too. Driving a lethargic and noisy vehicle will drain most of your energy and one could hardly enjoy the trails that follows thereafter.
The only mod I have done is to add a metal skid plate. While I understand the need for changing tyres/rims according to one's personal preferences, but making it a mandatory proposition to increase the mediocre 205mm ground clearance of Gurkha simply indicates that force is selling you a half-baked product.

Add blue with particulate filter is creating nightmare for remote travelling in Thar. I wish you could have been frank there. As reliability is a major factor in overlanding and Thar is leaving people stranded in areas like Zanskar, simply not acceptable. Another factor is cold starting, even you had to struggle with morning startup. These are very important and may spoil your entire fun of long-range travelling. Yes the ground clearance factor in Gurkha is a let down and their shift from front solid axle to independent suspension with struts hanging low seems incorrect. Now since you are a rare user having both we will be better informed then anyone else. Also please touch upon how big difference is there in usage of automatic vs manual in long travel. We expect more frank opinions please. Thank you for the video.
DPF is present on both but the bs6 tech is different. Gurkha is based on LNT and Thar on SCR. SCR is a new tech which is needed for less pollution and more power, while LNT is simpler but engines can't be in agressive tune due to less control on pollution. Both have their drawbacks. I myself never faced DPF issues on any trip but in extreme cold DEF got frozen along with cold start issues on Thar. I will compare it when I will test Gurkha in similar situations.
Probably Force motors could have upgraded the interiors and electronics on the Gurkha and that would be a killer deal. It's purpose is not for city driving and auto will be counter productive in off road tracks. Areas to improve could be engine power, somewhat attractive dashboard. But, they are not deal breakers in any way.

Dr. Anil Bishnoi Sir BOSS
I m not sure to compare thar with gurkha. Gurkha is kind of one generation behind Thar in every aspect there is no doubt in that u can take refinement, engine power, interior design car stance and build... next gen Gurkha can be more desirable than this one...it is good that you have shifted to other platform for overlanding as thar content is getting copied by many other youtubers...shifting to Gurkha is to be different than other please correct me if am wrong😅 as such no such issue are there with thar...it is kind of nit picking 😉
