Hi Patrizia! A blend’s shelf life is determined by the ingredient with the shortest shelf life, so it depends on the ingredients you’re using. In general, any products made with water or aloe vera gel (which is water-based) should be made fresh every few weeks. This blend has a longer shelf life since it doesn't include any water-based ingredients and could last 6 months to 1 year if stored properly. We can share a link to Aromatics where they talk about shelf life: www.aromatics.com/pages/learn-shelf-life 😄
Hi Filomena! Great question! There are many approaches to blending. We use the drop by drop technique - marking each drop added on a piece of paper. Counting the drops this way is important so you can recreate the blends you love and so you keep track of the number of drops for the dilution rate you want to achieve. In our Aromatherapy for Natural Living class, we teach how to make blends-how to calculate the dilutions, what are the therapeutic properties and notes of each oil, what oils to use, and how to combine the oils, how to formulate the blends. Hi AK! We do that to minimize the exposure to heat. When melting we add other ingredients after the beeswax has melted as some carrier oils or butters can be affected by exposure to heat.
Aromahead Institute thank you, I thought jojoba was heat safe, as it is a liquid wax. My understanding is that the fatty acids in jojoba are bound to Ester molecules, rather than carboxyl molecules, so it does not have oxygen molecules in it like triglycerides do, and therefore not prone to oxidation in a meaningful way? Please correct me if I’m wrong. Thank you.
I don’t mean to not pick, I just worry that it might be really difficult to clean the Pyrex if it’s heated without the jojoba. If I’m wrong, please forgive me and pardon the comments. Feel free to delete if you wish, also.
@@angielilliank.1109 one tip we have is to coat the Pyrex with a bit of jojoba before you begin. It makes clean up a breeze! Apply a small amount of jojoba to paper towel and wipe the inside of the Pyrex.

Hi Tracy! Yes, there is only one kind of Patchouli essential oil, and the Latin name is Pogostemon cablin. It's such a lovely and peaceful oil 💜

What can I use instead of pine? I'm allergic to it. Thanks!
In this perfume blend we would suggest Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) 😁
How do you know how many drops of essential oils you use..Say if you have 5 different essential oils do you go by note on how much you add..?
