Here is a request that is a real honor for me. My Friend Guitarist/Producer Paul Brown, asked me if I can bring back some memory lane from the tour that he putted together back in 2007, which I have the pleasure to video taped here in Virginia at The Birchmere Music Hall. The show featured, Marc Antoine and the late Kenny Rankin, the three of them as main artists, followed by an stelar group of musicians such as Phillipe Saise on Keyboards, Roberto Vally, on Bass and the great Ricky Lawson on drums. I think this is a very appropriate moment to pay tribute to the lovely memory of Kenny Rankin who next June 7, 2012 will celebrate the third anniversary of his departure to play and sing his music in heaven.
Once again, thanks to Paul Brown for give the honor of bringing this great moment for you...

Thank you. Kenny was one of the great musical Loves of my life. Still missing him. Infinite appreciation for his unbelievable Talent.
What a great talent. Sorely missed.
I just can’t believe this great artist is gone Kenny Rankin truly top shelf!!
I dont know what was the better instrument his guitar or his voice, but both of them together are unbeatable
Bill DeLuca m.
He played guitar on Bob Dylan's "Bringing It All Back Home".
Wow! This is a great interview, very insightful, l always heard the Latin influence but didn't know Kenny played conga, and loved Tito Puente and Miles, hance his beautiful style. God Rest his Soul.
Kenny Rankin what a talent that we lost IMO way too soon! Love this man"s music and voice!
Thank you for this lovely video. Kenny was just wonderful. Saw him perform in person many times, and each was a fabulous treat.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I can't believe how much I still love him and his music.
Love ❤️ Kenny. Miss him so much. Saw him only twice and fell in love. When I got my first IPHONE the first thing I did was download everything Kenny and listened to only him every day nonstop. Branched out to so many like Chet Baker and Chris Rea.
@starchildstrider my fave by Chris is On the Beach. He has a vast library of music and I love most everything he does. I know he is dealing with major health problems but I hope we will have him for a few years. Kenny’s musical influence was Chet Baker and I love him too especially Let’s Get Lost my favorite song by him. I wish Kenny would have done a version of that himself. Yea u have great taste in music for sure. Very nice talking to you.
breathtaking...thank you SO VERY MUCH for posting this...Kenny Rankin...genius..GENIUS!
Have been a Kenny fan since seeing and speaking to him after a show @ Colorado State University in 1972 I have all of his records / cd's . Was a sad day for me when he passed.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I saw him in SF once and loved his incredible performance. Along with Michael Franks, his vocal and songs really spoke to me back in the 80s. They still do.
Thanks ever so much for putting this out for the general public.
This collaboration with Kenny was very nice. Now with that said, other Rankin ensembles I felt were "Much More" Inspired, and of course Kenny was always
In "The Right Place at the Right Time"
When performing alone.
And Kenny Rankin.....Well...One of One!
Thanks Kenny🎶🎸🙏
So much love and art in his voice, framed with such a tasty band too.
What a treasure this video is, awesome talent way ahead of his time, silky grooves, the Latin syncopation, so very very tasty indeed 💕💕💕
The RUclips algorithm sent me here from Leland Sklar's channel. What a revelation.
Thank you for this. Much appreciation and gratitude. Love KR. He is greatly missed by so many.
Kenny was one of the best vocals & progressive guitarists, ever. Very underrated. Such a beautiful voice. Wish he did more blues.
RIP - I will always miss that fabulous talent. Touched my soul every time I heard him. Was fortunate enough to sit front row at the Bottom Line. Fabulous is a huge understatement. What a range.
This was a great video to find. I am a singer/musician and Kenny was my biggest singing influence. I know all his music inside-out. I saw him in concert so many times. One of the times was at The Bitter End Cafe', which at the time had been renamed The Other End. At this particular show John Sebastian sat in with Kenny. But the most amazing show was at Lincoln Center: Avery Fisher Hall, after the release of "The Kenny Rankin Album" He performed the whole album from beginning to end with Don Costa and orchestra! I love Kenny Rankin 😻
One of my favorite singers...saw him at the Blue Note in New Jersey many years ago. Silver Monr
great voice musician and man
I grew up on 183st Audubon Ave. Congas were played in the street on hot summer nights. We both went to the same high school Rhodes on 54st. Manhattan. Heavy Latino influence of drums in that neighborhood. We were about 15 years apart. I think a class mate of mine took guitar lessons from him. Small world
thank you!!!
his duets album never came to be....this was not long before he passed away
This is so awesome! OMG
my Idol
I did see Kenny live once at Dooley's (spelling?) in Tempe, Arizona mid '70's. A voice I always wanted!
Crushed when he died! I know he was a lifetime smoker and died from lung cancer. Sad!
Loved Michael Franks also. Is he still playing?
What is the name of the album with the duet of Kenny Rankin & Nancy Wilson?
Thank you for this video. Please review my footage of Mr. Rankin...what a great musician. Mil Gracias!
Barb Thank you!
