    This video is so helpful! I’m new to glazing and I don’t have access to stroke n coat at this point is there certain properties in other glazes that I should look for to use as a substitute for a stroke n coat?

      Oh great! Yes, I’ve never done the peacock with regular glazes just stroke and coat! I’m like omg you can do it with everything 😳😂 I hope you do! And I’m so glad I could inspire! That makes me happy 😊

      Aw glad it could help! This is a fun way to glaze and relatively easy. Also there are lots of facebook groups that help ALOT with glaze combinations. You may want to check them out for inspiration- there’s the Amaco Facebook group and Mayco that I always check out! Have fun and remember to play 😍

    Thanks Molly! I'm trying this method for the first time and your videos helped me a lot. I did two different ways. One with the flux and color as a base layer, and another with a base layer of a black glaze, then light flux and colored underglaze, topped with a light glaze that reacts with the black well. Fingers crossed it turns out! I may have done the black a little thick, so we'll see what happens. I should be firing later this week. If mine turns out half as nice as yours, I'll be happy!

    What is flux?

    • @Mollybeepottery
      @Mollybeepottery  11 месяцев назад

      So flux is a glaze that adds movement..typically for layering other glazes to get them to move and flow together. Mayco makes a light flux and a dark flux. Here’s a link to the light flux:

    • @Mollybeepottery

      Oh cool! Your results will be so much brighter on light clay 😍 on the outside I did 3x of firebrick just on the rim portion and then 2 coats all over of reactive red, then a third coat over the rim/firebrick portion
