With Nebraska's schedule, this will be a rebuilding year but don't be surprised when they knock-off a few top-25 teams towards the end of the season...it will be a sign of things to come.
That's why the schedule is so tough. To purposely welcome him to the BIG 10. As a reminder, that this is our conference. So don't get any ideas of dominating. Same tough scheduling they gave to Pelini.
You know that the schedule was made well before he was hired, correct? They would have been playing the same schedule if Riley or anyone else was the coach.
They did struggle this year.

Theres a reason why nebraska was great for so long we had coaches like devaney and osborne very smart men just like coach frost is and he has been mentored by coach osborne even after his playing days and knows what it takes like he said theres a formula for success im guessing thats with everything in life!!! I'm so proud to be a Cornhusker rt now, especially now. I believe we've found a great coach, who is a man of honor. There will be no need for Husker Nation to make excuses for scandalous behaviour to keep winning. That's a part of football culture that needs to be squashed flat. I've had a few goes with other Husker fans over Pelini. I'm having a go with a few Buckeye fans now. I'm proudest of all about our reputation as "The Nicest Fans in the NCAA". We should never excuse Pelini like behaviour in any leader. Even untested I would choose Frosty over Meyer every time. I'm looking forward to watching our climb in the ranks over the next few years. I'd like to see some tailgate vids, especially if Husker fans tailgating wity fans from the opposition. Any know who posts those?

What made the Huskers great in their day. Here is the secret sauce: FARM KIDS!. The Nebraska Cornhuskers dominated at a time when the majority of their linemen and smash mouth heroes came from the weight room of life on family farms. These kids would go from 6 man football playing both ways to the largest stage in the State. As they grew up over the years, these Corn fed Nebraska boys were lifting hay bails, sacks of feed and doing gut busting manual labor daily. These kids ate wholesome meals of beef and vegetables, not Fast Food. On the football field no kid from any other way of life can in any way match the raw power developed over a childhood of hard work performed daily on a farm and the good nutrition provided by the country cooking of a Nebraska mother. Thanks MOM!!!! With every power five team that has every game on TV the appeal of playing for Nebraska is gone. There are far more attractive schools to play for than in the middle of no where Nebraska. Nebraska is never going to be what it was in the 90s.

I agree, its kind of like so many Texas recruits deciding not to go to Texas or leave the state. Kids don't care much about program history or tradition, its why schools like Oregon and Baylor got so hot..times have changes...elite players aren't going to a place like Nebraska lol.

Nebraska fans dont live in the 90's we just understand that the system we had in place worked, and we want that system back for the new age Huskers. None of us understand why the program veered away from the winning formula. We are getting it back now. GBR.
Uhm, pretty sure Lincoln was in Nebraska for all five National title seasons, ass.
Also, pretty sure 9 of the 11 offensive starters for Nebraska's 97 National Championship team were born and raised in Nebraska. That's another thing Nebraska stopped doing was getting home grown walk ons that played with heart, and recruiting in state. People think there is no talent in Nebraska which is dead wrong.
