lmfao. That 60 card deck gives me a really really stinker of an idea. What would a 60 card masochist series look like??? Where you are forced to run 60 card decks and see how far you can push using the masochist rules to pack opening.
That honestly seems less fun, like beyond the fact that you will be running unplayable cards for longer. It'll be harder to actually change your deck up, like with 40 cards of you have say 5 cards that work together you can kinda get away with that in 60 it's even more punishing to have anything that aren't standalone good cards
Darkfall for anti-Snake-Eyes to hit both Flamberge's effect *and* Zelantis's thing is something I've been trying to make work even outside of this context. ... I mean, I haven't managed it, but I've certainly tried.
Fun fact, the dark neohthys is slow as shit, because you are supposed to summon it with other card effects, because it's a *non-once per turn spell/trap destroy* so they had to slow it down a little *too much*
I actually use Spell Shattering Arrow in my ranked VS deck. I try to keep burning with borger as much as possible and spell shattering adds nicely to that with snake eyes as opponents
But why tho vanquish can slot in better cards to deal with snake. And they already have infinite burn with their strategy so you don't need to add more. And the burn effect from burger is something you only use when you need to as the draw is better
I purchased an Ultimeat Offering not too long ago to bulk up a card order. I think it's neat. It effectively does the same thing as the original, you just can't keep paying to do it endlessly.
One thing about all these "chaos Draft" and Masochist shows is that they really show off some of the absolute weirdest cards to be found in the dregs of YuGiOH. I did not know Ultimeat Offering was a thing, and are kinda intrigued to find a deck where it can work. Like, I'm trying to think of a normal summon that can bust the battle phase. Like, first thing that comes to mind is Birds... obviously. but Birds already have enough to keep the built in train of Normal Summon going without Ultimeat. Second is either Alister or Trickstars Due to their Non-Once Per turn Normal Summon abilities.
I did that against floodgate Eldlich. All the spell/trap zones were blocked with floodgates (Gozen, TCBOO, Rivalry) and I summoned an S-force monster who switches a monster's position in summon and prevents a monster in the same column from changing its position. He literally couldn't switch his Eldlich, summon a monster, or activate spell/traps.
I started this challenge myself, and I am very much amused by the deck I got stuck with. I hope someday I run into another masochist enthusiast and show off my stuff on someone's video XD
D/D Orthros seems like a really good card that you should use! I know you read the pendulum effect but the monster effect is nice. If you take battle or effect damage, you can special summon it from the hand as a decent defense option. If you survive a turn, voila, you have a level 4 tuner that you can use. AND it's a dark fiend monster. I am a D/D enthusiast.
Please, consider Koa'ki Meiru Ice! It's a multiple removal spell on an 1900 atk body. It may die in the end phase but it is still worth it and can still be used for a link summon (it's also water!)
playing masochist makes you appreciate/ find new generics. There's an amazing SR which I pulled to counter snake eyes, its called power filter... floodgate with the effect that neither player can summon monsters with 1k or less attk.. it also works on tokens, so ruins the swordsoul structure deck.
I'm also doing this challenge. Stuch at Plat 5 now, so much horus, snake eye, tear, yubel, centur-ion. All those decks are auto losses. Still, after about 90 packs, I somehow pulled Vanity’s Ruler, Archlord Krystia, Flamberge Dragon (actually decent boss lol), the BLS link, Secret Village of the Spellcasters, 4 Mekk-Knights, 2 copies of the Ancient Warriors card that is just Pankratops, Kaiser Colosseum (now banned lol, RIP), Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror, And the Band Played On (Both just mid tier floodgates), and to top it all off, Kashtira fricking Fenrir. I sometimes question if this even counts as a masochist deck, it’s really more like shitty, going second stun.
I'm kinda surprised that the weird statue-like "angel with crystals" aesthetic Banisher and many other GX-era fairies have hasn't been brought back at all. It's kinda alive in Heralds and was briefly around with Counter Fairies but the Majestic Mech line was a staple of my playground, as terrible as the cards were. Seems like a prime design to be thrown on a hand-trap or generic spell/trap like Imperm or Droplet.
Okay everyone time to take bets, what strategy will the game throw enough cards at Joe to make viable first!? I'm gonna put my money on Ghoti right now. I'm just feeling the fish luck!
ok i know theres a new video and no one will see this, but not playing twinbow seems wrong to me... i think its just my limited player senses telling me to never pass up on a free special, especially this early. but i suppose theres not that many tribute summons

Expurrely Happiness is, for some reason, a generic rank 7 that doesn't actually need any other Purrely cards. Statue of Anguish Pattern is an easy to summon level 7, do you have any other easy level 7 material?

Winning against a real deck with a masochist challenge deck is one of the funnest things in MD.

D/D Orthos has an effect that special summon it if you take damage. You really should read the rest of the cards before you skipped it.
I'm aware. I've played D/Ds. But that effect is barely useful in the archetype.
