Don't take it with Lamotrigine, there is a high risk of severe symptoms: Confusion, unconsciousness, unable to walk, double vision, memory loss, paranoia, and drowsiness. I was hospitalized for two weeks and then had to go to rehab to learn to use a walker. They kept giving Depakote to me, but I think a lower dose. As soon as I got out of there, I quit Depakote cold turkey. It took about 4 weeks to get back to normal. My neurologist prescribed Depakote on top of Lamotrigine I was already taking.
It probably has something to do with accelerating or energizing the mechanism that uses food to calm the system. We experience arousal when hungry and calm after we’ve consumed, thus, it may throw the consumption calm pathway into hyperdrive. I’m not an expert, but this to me makes sense.
You should also advise patients to eat 30 mins before taking the tablet, maybe this advisory has caused many to start eating throughout the day taking 2-4 doses a day.
This drug should only be prescribed for those who would benefit from the side effect of increased hunger and weight gain, aka sufferers of anorexia as one example. Develop other remedies or provide appetite suppressants for other users.

I hate depakote
Makes you tired too?
It’s not for every one. Different drugs work on different people differently. I love depakote. It does exactly what is suppose to do in me.
