Sapal 2 in 1: How to Properly Repair Hairline Cracks (Using a Paintable, Flexible Sealant)

- Have you noticed? Small cracks usually appear around your doors and walls. These are called hairline cracks.
Hairline cracks over doors and windows are caused by the movements and vibrations that particular area. These are non-structural cracks but they aggravate over time when left unattended.
Houses of any age move and shift subtly over time, and the weakest area in a wall is the most likely to crack. A wall is constructed with vertical studs that extend from floor to ceiling. The studs must be cut, however, in order to install a door or a window. While the builder adds extra framing to the adjacent studs, these areas are still weaker than the rest of the wall, and when settling occurs, these spots are the first to develop cracks. Hairline cracks across walls and doorways do not indicate a structural problem; they should simply be repaired and painted over.
Using pure cement as thin plastering is not recommended for such repairs because it doesn't posses the required compressive and bonding strength. Simply painting over the hairline crack is also highly discouraged because the problems will not be repaired properly.
What you need is an elastic sealant that can bridge cracks and withstand structural movements. Sapal 2 in 1 is an elastic sealant and waterproofing material that is also paintable. It is highly recommended for sealing joints, such as gutters, downspouts, roofing systems, plumbing pipes, and hairline cracks.
