How has it been going for the last 3 years? Is it as effective as a pest control company? I suspect it's even more effective, based on what my PCC company was doing. They wanted to be in and out as quickly as possible so I'm not convinced they were doing the best job possible.
Thanks for making this. Just bought a house and I'm gonna try this. How often do you do these treatments? I'm sure it's in the instructions, just wondering if you follow their recommendations or if you have your own timeline.
Great content, subscribed! Saw a centipede crawling the wall in my bedroom of our rental 5 minutes ago. Now I’m cringing scouring the Internet to figure out how to prevent bugs from entering our new construction that’ll be done in 2 months.
Hey Monisha, centipedes are definitely one of the bugs that can make you itchy just from seeing them haha. Hopefully this video was able to help you out with some things you can do to help prevent them from getting in and if they do, they don't live long. I also have another video on my channel you can check out where I cover some common entry points for bugs to get in that you may want to check or address once your home is done. Congratulations on the new home! That is a very exciting time. Thank you for subscribing and your feedback. If you need anything just give me a shout and I will try my best to help. Look forward to seeing you around!
Seems like an honest man so i figured id ask this here. We're sold a lot of pest control chemicals and devices, but what did people use for bug control centuries ago? What methods did they use to repel or kill bugs that we've forgotten about these days?
They didn't lol. Mass famine was common due to bugs infesting and spoiling food. Sleeping outdoors with the bugs was common. Smoke was used to keep mosquitoes away.
Thank you! I’m renting a basement apartment from a friend and I’ve never seen so many spiders and bugs inside of a home my entire life. I was able to get rid of the spiders but these other bugs I’ve never seen before so have no idea how to treat them. I plan to try Talstar.
Hey Maria, glad you were able to get rid of the spiders! They were probably there because of the other bugs so definitely want to try to get rid of them so they don't come back! I have found the Talstar to be great. I have been using it for years and I rarely see any bugs in the house and I live right next to the woods. So I am a believer in it and the other products. The Diatomaceous Earth could also be helpful as well! Good luck, let me know how it goes!
Subscribed ! you are amazing ! as home diys were not working out for bed bugs in my home so I took services of Jax propest control in mesa arizona. They did amazing job.
We bought a brand new house now Iam worried for this bugs. What if I see any of them around my yard? Also all these years we rented house in gated community so they had taken care of everything for us in minutes. I will notedowm products and your tips to be handy.Thank you.
You won’t be able to stop bugs from being in the yard but you can cut down on the number of them. In the video, the granules I spread around the perimeter of my house can also be spread in the rest of the yard. I have done this from time to time when dealing with mole crickets digging up the lawn. It works well! Thank you for the feedback!
Great video! What about for crickets? We live ona big piece of property and we have 2 other properties but there are crickets EVERYWHERE. HELP US There are also black widows. Is there something for that or would they die with the diatomaceous earth ?
Great content. Definitely planning to use your tip to save some money. How often do you do each treatment? Also, do you spray your eaves or the vents on your eaves?
I try to make it a point to treat every 3 months sometimes more during the summer. I have found this to have a high rate of success. I do spray the vents on the eaves that go to the bathroom exhaust fans. The attic is sprayed with foam so bugs have a tough time getting in that way. Thank you for the feedback and good luck with becoming a bug exterminator haha
Usually every 3 months, but the outside applications I do a little more during the rainy season just because the more rain we get the quicker it sometimes needs it. Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you, sometimes we can or shall use turmeric or lemon in water i.e.,natural antiseptic antibacterial and anti infectious agents to clean any insect affected area in healthy way..killing them is not a solution to the problem, more can or shall spring up..we personally experienced
Hey Adam, I'm trying to get rid of house centipedes out of my house. Not the common centipede btw, but the ones with long legs (house centipede). Any recommendations on how? I've been trying some Diatomaceous earth lately, not sure if that kills those fast moving bugs, as the power don't seem to kill them on contact.
I need to keep centidemons and milllidemons out of my house. I saw a big centidemon on the wall in my garage when I came home the other night. I was able to neutralize it with my a-salt gun, but I don’t want them anywhere near me.
Not wearing chemical resistant gloves, waterproof shoes, pants, or long sleeve shirt. Bait should be applied as dots not strips. Bait can also attract pests if constant application is applied.
They are some creepy insects! It seems like when you see one of them in the house, there are more. There are 3 products that I use that are in the video that are great for centipedes. The Talstar P I would recommend all around the outside perimeter and entrances to the house. You can also spray it in places that you are seeing them frequently. The Amdro Quick kill lawn granules are good for the outdoors on the lawn around the house for centipedes. Perhaps getting them before they find a way in. Diatomaceous earth is a good one for inside. It is a powder and you can put in places where you are seeing the centipedes frequently. All of these of course cover other bugs as well but they are the 3 in the video that can really work for your particular problem! The Centipedes main food source is other bugs so if you get rid of the other bugs then it will really cut down on them too. Spiders are the same way. Also, centipedes like dark damp areas so just do a quick inspection around your house to confirm nothing is leaking and make sure all ground clutter around the house is cleaned up especially against the house. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can help further. Thank you for watching!
I do it as a preventative measure even if I don't see them because I know in my area that if I am not treating for them at some point, I am going to start seeing them.
Every Saturday I spray my yard with 20 gallons of bug spray let it sit about 6 hours then go back out and light it on fire haven’t seen a single bug since 09
Thanks for all the great tips! How frequent should I treat my house with these products? I do have a curious 2 month old kitten at home so whilst I would love nothing more than to keeping my house with minimum bugs, I'm also concerned about keeping the areas safe for my kitten to roam around :( I've seen mostly cockroaches and centipedes around my house, they never seem to go away, do you have any specific products I can try?
Hey! I treat mine about every 3 months, sometimes more outside during the rainy season. I have a list of all of these products in the description if you want to get an idea for what they are. We have 2 cats of our own, most of the products you see in the video they can't get to as they are in cabinets and what not but when I spray the insecticide at the doors inside, I put the cats in a room for about a half hour or until it dries. In liquid form it could be bad for the cats but once it dries it is safe. But feel free to read about it on the labels of the products. Most of the time the directions will talk about pets as it is an issue people want to stay mindful of! Hope this helps!
@@HowToHomeDIY do you need to put dimatateceous earth and combat every 3 months too? And you only need combat if you already have a roach problem, right? Or is it a preventative?
Will this work for wolf spiders and house centipedes? My house is infested with wolf spiders and house centipedes. Seems like they're at war with each other and the wolf spiders are always pregnant carrying they're babies on top.
So none of this will probably kill the spiders as they don't clean themselves so they dont get the insecticide into their system. But it will take care of the centipedes. Typically if you can take care of the other bugs, the spiders will also go down in numbers as they are there for food, which is the other bugs.
My home is new. And I currently have a Silverfish problem and had a ant problem. I live in N.C. and have a lot of hard red clay dirt in places where sod was not laid. I have very little grass on the side yard of my home. About 2 1/2 months ago... the ants raided my kitchen coming out of the side of my electrical outlets and crawling everywhere! The ants were also on my baseboards in my laundry room & got in our clean clothes I had waiting to fold btw the laundry room is on the 2nd floor. I had to throw the basket of clothes away because the ants were everywhere 😡 ... it hasn't happened again since I sprayed and it's cooled down a bit. I do have ant hills in my front yard and I shook some Sevin dust on them and it's seemed to kill them. My fear is the ants will come back again when it gets hot and invade my home. I honestly couldn't afford a pest control company at the time so I've been trying to figure out what I can do now to help keep my house ant and silverfish free now and when it warms back up. Your video was very helpful. If you have any suggestions... I am all ears 🙂 Thank you.
Not a whole lot actually kills spiders because their abdomens are so high and they don't self clean. Best thing to do with spiders is get rid of the other bugs and they will then go away. A can of wasp spray does a good job on them too.
Hopefully they aren't keeping you up at night. Luckily crickets can be controlled fairly easily. The number one goal would of course be to find where they are getting into your house and sealing it up. If they are concentrated in certain areas of your house, the diatomaceous earth and talstar P in this video can be very effective against crickets. You could try treating these main areas with these products and you should start to see results. Hope this helps!

Hi, do you have any recommendations for being outside and dealing with flies and mosquitoes? Thanks so much in advance!
I am currently making a video for a mosquito trap. Was hoping it would be done next Friday but may be a little longer.
Demand cs and archer growth regulator. In a fogger for best results. Also, get rid of standing water.
Not wearing chemical resistant gloves, waterproof shoes, pants, or long sleeve shirt. Bait should be applied as dots not strips. Bait can also attract pests if constant application is applied.
Neither do the bug guys that have done this work in the past. But if you feel that’s necessary then by all means wear it.
Oh no the talestar is not available...do you have any suggestions please?
Very educative
ya'll should really wear some ppe (personal protective equipment), that's not the kind of stuff you want to inhale or get on your hands.
Thank you very much.
You are very welcome! Glad it was helpful!
Great job
Make sure to switch your chems out I use bifen, cypermethrin, lambda cyhalothrin and igr. I also use neonicitinoids not just pyrethroids.
Also don't put any bait in big globs or lines like he did do little dolups not lines. Same for dust less is more trust me.
Great video. Thanks.
