Sooo, still don't know what PRINCE2 does.
Its a certification for project managers
It’s the second prince of the UK.
Its crazy how many say Prince2 is so great, but nobody can explain what it is, or how it is used in the real world.
I've been a practitioner for 5 years and everywhere I worked has done Agile, I've never used Prince2 in the real world! I have dropped a rap explaining PRINCE2 though as the qualification can open some doors

PRINCE2 is just one project management approach
The basic point is "All success is by planned event"
By planning one is saying you can deliver anything if you apply project management methodology (PRINCE2, PMP or Rap or other)
I'm not too concerned which project methodology you use (they are all the same with some caveats)...as long as u have have a project methodology under your belt as a starter.
Then you can plan success as a technician, or business manager or even in your private life plan for success.
Project management teaches u both how to deliver and how to manage hurdles (risks & issues) you will come across.
That should be the easiest overview for anyone who doesn't understand PRINCE2

You may like this starting point better..
Start with Quote : All success is by planned event.
This implies to be successful at anything (ie achieve anything) have a plan
Then understand to deliver a plan you need a planning method (project management).
PRINCE2 is an example of one planning methodology. There are others equally valid eg PMP, more.

LOL I just got a global project manager role (somehow!) and came to find out what PRINCE2 is. I'm none-the-wiser after watching this video, just like everybody else!
It forgot to mention it gives the user the common language used within project management, explains best practice methods for risk, change, roles & responsibilities, etc, that it will make you more competitive in the PM job market... BUT that senior leaders will not be able to stop themselves from rolling their eyes if you ever make the mistake of quoting anything from PRINCE2.
It’s a great place to start if you lack experience, and also useful if you have limited experience and want to compete for roles.
For someone who hasn't worked with it before, how difficult is it to get a start with Prince2? Talking about a few weeks/months?
@@ivobondptbe It does involve some study, and it can be difficult to study if you haven’t worked in a project environment before. I think there is so much video content here on RUclips, or on LinkedIn learning now though that it is much more accessible than it used to be. If you’re determined, you’ll do it 👍

Lol, I have yet to work in a company that uses this. To me this is all a money racket. Also, I asked two people who recently finished the exam to explain prince 2 and nobody could.
A concept so fluffy and difficult to explain should never be implemented.
In 10 lines or less, explain to me the concept, and I shall stand corrected.
