Looks pretty decent, but for the price point it's fantastic. I'll keep using my packout system for every day at work, but I might just pick up this husky one for camping gear! The little internal organizers look great as tackle boxes and little kits for carabiners, fire starting, etc.

First two features sold me on it already. Nothing like having a table or something to work off of in the field. Also, the Milwaukee always felt cheap to me. Especially the wheels. Glad these have rubber one. Usually just carry veto totes/bags and a belt but I'm getting old. Imma check it out.

Great presentation! I have had my Packout system for a while now and am very satisfied with them, they have held up nicely. Additionally, as others have mentioned, there is a ton of factory and aftermarket accessories available for custom configurations. As the Husky boxes are at a good price point, I would consider them for other applications.

You leave out craftsman trade stack, which is much cheaper and more versatile plus connects to all versastak products, that’s a two system for the price of one.
Also it’s made in America not communist china . Buy American made products from American companies!!

7:00 He talks about the connect/disconnectors being "two handed opperation" and says a few brands that are two handed. Though, he puts Rigid in there... From my experience, considering i have rigid 2.0 in the cab of my truck and in our big trailer, Rigid boxes are easily 1 handed. Pop the bar off and then move it slightly sideways and the other comes out. THen just pull by the connection bar closest to you. You can disconnect and tote the rigid boxes 100% with one hand.

Its decent i guess but other than that little clear organizer fitting in a couple places it doesn't offer much in the way of organizing your tools.
Once again a center mounted handle and two hands to unlock a box.

  • @AnAvgJoe

For similar price point, the Craftsman tradestack imo is leaps better than the husky for the sole fact, the lids don't hit the handle. Tradestack lids also have detents so the lids stay locked open when completely up. Tradestack also has DRAWERS, which is big for me. Love having drawers. Plus with the tradestack, dewalt Tstak and Versa stack works with it with an included adapter plate if you buy the roller base. So much more versatility with the tradestack IMO. Good video though!

Drawers I want drawers! Those are most important to me so I can access everything without unstacking. The connect drawers are only $40. That’s why I use husky connect. To get a bigger drawer I cut the bottom off of the top drawer. If Packout was cheaper I would have bought those. Ideally the dolly with the packout cabinet and drawers but too much money. I don’t even need it to slide just a hinged door from the front for easy access like the Packout cabinet. None of the rolling tool box prioritizes this. I don’t want the big bin attached to the wheels

  • @LuminairPrime
    @LuminairPrime Год назад +1

Here's my observation: this is a viable Packout alternative because the most important feature is just the size of the box. Packout is obviously the best overall, and the shameless clones of its name and look are sad, lol, but once you reach the size and BASIC features of the Packout, you're like 99% of the way to the same thing. It's a box for other stuff.
Corollary: the difference between different SIZE/WEIGHT systems is bigger than the difference in features/quality between systems of different COSTS. You will gain more benefit by shunning brand loyalty and introducing more brand variety into your work space. Not every tool or job needs the biggest and heaviest box you have, regardless of the cost.
Corollary: adding more organization tools to your existing storage system may provide more benefit than switching systems. I'm befuddled that companies don't offer and support more accessories like hooks and dividers and containers. It's great that Jake is designing and selling his own accessories. Just having the right size cups for your parts is really nice, but really difficult to get officially. These third-party accessories are a real opportunity for people to upgrade the storage they already have.

In the Connect system (as well as some others) putting the handle down makes it act as a foot, that keeps the box from tipping over as easily. You're supposed to put the handle down to keep it stable. I imagine that's why they don't fix the lid/handle issue.

    • @JakeWeihe

Any and all of these systems amount to nothing more than sheer stupidity without one defining feature. The largest and lowermost unit HAS to have the option of being a drawered unit. And subsequent units have to have the option of being drawered as well. Otherwise, the whole system is for the hopelessly braindead.
What nutcase wants to unpile the whole damn system to get to one tool in a bin that isn’t immediately accessible? It defeats the whole purpose of modularity and accessibility.
If I ever bought one of these systems again, that’s where I would start. Every other feature is a possible cherry on top in that happenstance, but without it, it renders the whole system obsolete and pointless.

I think the main reason why packout is the most popular is because of all the different tool boxes and accessories as well as the one-handed release mechanism. I was considering flex but for the same price with much less attachments/boxes and a two-handed release mechanism, I might just go with packout once my Toughbuilt XL rolling tool bag can’t fit most of my essentials/ breaks down. This husky built out feels really solid since my Home Depot is full of them but I do not like the two-handed release system. It is very affordable and I can only imagine it getting even cheaper during the holiday deals so that’ll be interesting. It is already beating out the craftsman and kobalts for similar quality with a better price. Once they decide to make drawers, these can become people’s affordable favorites. Great video as always!

@@JakeWeihe agreed! I love my pouches and the rolling bag! Their hand tools also seem really good but all I have from them is a pair of 10 inch channel locks that were on clearance at my Lowe’s that I’ve yet to use. I’m kind of disappointed in flex, they haven’t released anything for the stackpack pretty much all year after such a promising start. I would’ve expected at least a tool tote like Milwaukee has by now

Nice! I’m not gonna say “I told you so” to everyone about stackpack but I just had a bad feeling about them. Way to much money spent on marketing and free stuff to influencers that made one complimentary video and never talked about it again

Might be ok for the weekend warrier/homeowner. Don’t see it as adaptable for professionals. Having the latches on the sides means these are going to take up more space. You’ll always have either have nothing on either side in order to access the latches. Or you’ll have to pull out the stack in order to access the latches.
Not having drawers is a deal breaker as well. I can’t see husky investing tons of money in adding accessories. I can’t see how the latching system would allow half cases either.
I just don’t see how this system will be superior to Milwaukee for lots of reasons. (For the record, I’m mostly a Dewalt guy using all Packout).

So far looking good, I’m impressed for it to be Husky and the price point. I just picked up the set myself. Accessories and organization are very limited, if you make some solutions for the build out I would definitely purchase them!

I need a way to attach these to a cable lock. I work out of town a lot, and am in hotels, and people suck. I have 2 stacks, and if I could attach them with a cable lock to the tie downs in my bed, it would be great. It’s a pain to haul these in and out of hotels.

@@JakeWeihe the cables I’m looking at have a loop on them. I think I’m going to use a bar stock like you showed in your video down each stack, and run the cable between the box and the bar, just need to figure out a way to lock the bar in place. Padlocks would work like you show in your video, but keeping up with keys scares me, I can see one of my guys loosing them, lol.

The closures are no joke. I caught the side of my finger in one the other day and it f'n hurt! For those who are waiting for add-ons - I realize not everyone has a 3D printer, but I'm assuming most of you have reasonable skills and all sorts of tools. I've been making add-ons from scratch and from other things I find at home and at stores. They'll work for what I need them for until when/if Husky comes out with something better for my needs. It really depends on what each individual uses their toolboxes for and how they use them.

Litterally the fact that they are black are is why i have been considering buying kobalt craftsman, all husky jobboxs.... and so on. Its the main reason i have not spent one dollar on a milwaukee packout and i own pretty much all milwaukee
