OK, picture yourself at a Todd Rundgren show. You love this artist, and have followed him with through all the incredible high points, as well as all the weird twist and turns in his career. Who knows what Todd might play in his formidable catalog of original tunes, not to mention excellent cover versions he's played over the years. And then, he queues up "Muskrat Love". Freaking hilarious 😂 (although he does the best version of this song ever). Hahaha!!
@@ericgerber9751 HIs is the best!!! Just the mere fact that others covered it with a great deal of success (America and The Captain and Tennille) allowed Mr. Ramsey to receive even more royalties from his sweet song.
Thank you @ Sus. Related topic, Dave Milsap lives in a cabin up the road. He was Delbert McClinton's guitarist, along with Stephen Bruton. I met Dave 8yrs age when we moved to this mountain. He plays every Friday 4-8pm - acoustic set. Anyway, I learned of Willis A thru Dave. Dave covers that single album of Willis, frequently. Thank you for listening to my story. It has been a real blessing these last 6-8yrs of Fri Nights! I have 100's nd 100's of videos from these evenings Hmmm, Dave did no Willis, last night? He ususally does NorthEast Texas Women. MY FAV from Willis!
This is not a great song!! Todd's version almost makes it palatable. Operative word is ALMOST. Too scarred by the fact that the Captain and Tennille version became a hit AND the awful, insipid, torturous lyrics! And those damn muskrat sounds. Aughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

Willis Alan Ramsey's original version is the ONLY version of this song I like. And I love his version!

Todd is an American treasure, possibly the most underappreciated artist in all of rock & roll
My God this is Amazing…..Todd….you are a Genius aren't you?
The Wizard does it again.. love it!!!
Come on man!
He DEFINITELY interjected more of the Captain and Tennille version than the America version.
this. is. brilliant.
Cette chanson n'est pas de Captain & Tennille mais du groupe America.
What a great song!
