I'm 65 years old and started going deaf in the 70's listening to this and all the great music of that time. Who needs hearing aids just get a louder and better stereo...CRANK IT UP....
Blues Rockers showing complete mastery of Funk Rock... love it. Joining Zep (Trampled Under Foot, Custard Pie, The Wanton Song, Nobody's Fault but Mine), AWB (School Boy Crush), Joe Cocker (You Can Leave Your Hat On) and Jimi Hendrix (everything he did) in Funk Rockers paying tribute to the actual funk masters (P*Funk, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins). Peace, love and bellbottoms from Canada.
funky funny song, non-lyrics mumblin away. Then Billy G goes into full Hendrix/Ernie Isley mode on the guitar .... one of those funny surreal ZZ Top songs.
El Loco is one of my favorites by them. They usually did crazy songs on albums. Check out Manic Mechanic or Heaven Hell Or Houston from this same album.👍🤘
Whomever suggested good call !! I saw this tour ( Loverboy opened lol😂) and to this day remember this one. No lyrics , just Texas gibberish except the chorus lol😂 Funky as hell 🔥
Saw them in the early 80's, they kicked ASS...during this song, suddenly a body dropped onto the stage with a HUGE lighting rig from above...we had noticed earlier on that there were guys up there with hand held lights. We were like OMG Holy Sh*t...!!!!! Then Billy Gibbon walked over and kicked him, it was a dummy....freaked everyone out. But was awesome..
This album is the proverbial "Fork in the road" for ZZ Top. Everything changed with this album. While I do like this album,, everything moving forward just wasn't the same. They became a pop band.
I've always felt like they were probably munching on some peyote when they wrote and recorded that song. And it does sound awesome if you listen to it while tripping on mescaline. At least that's what I've been told anyway 😆 Love some ZZ Top. Even their different sounding tunes like this one. Y'all should listen to their song "Breakaway". It's from their 11th album called Antenna that came out in 1994.
Singers Scat when they write new music before they come up with the lyrics. I think they just recorded him scattin' and put it out. That guitar was a custom job. It had no body, it just looked like a long neck. The effects were built into it. He donated that guitar for auction.
This was another transitional album for ZZ, this time between the funky Blues of "Deguello" and the made for MTV "Eliminator"... Not their best album, but to each their own. I prefer their first five (especially "Fandango!"), but that's just me.
This is the kind of "filler material", if you will, is on their albums. Sorry if you love this song but they can't all be hits. I love ZZ Top but I won't pretend to love it all equally.
I am NOT (as the ridiculous, inept, saying, now, goes 🙄🤦) "trying to hate on" this song, in particular [and NEVER 'on' ZZ Top!!!!!🤘🤘] ...but, almost without argument: this is the weakest, most lackluster period of the band's history! WAY too many folks ignore the "post-synth-pop influenced" period (brought about by Billy Gibbons and Martin Gore (of depeche mode) becoming friends!) of the band [and, not to "miss" something, here: there is, still, plenty, from their earlier work you have never listened to (at least not "publicly"!). ...but: Deguello is, still, their end-to-end, masterwork !]. The period which begins with their 'return to form' album: Rhythmeen (and continues from there!). Try checking out a few "newer-era chunk-exploders" such as: "She's Just Killing Me" or "Stackin' Paper" or "Poke-Chop Sandwich": (NOT a typo: they use "Poke," not "Pork" Yes.!) (...there are numerous others!!)

Love ZZ but never heard this before. GREAT!

I bought this album when it was released, and I don't even remember this song. Thanks for reminding me!
Guys, try out Heaven, Hell or Houston. Another funky vibe.
Keep up the great work my friends. Excellent reaction fellas 👌
I love this album and yeah, it's a strange song. Right on, it's good to see more ZZ Top on the channel.

Thank you.

Clutch has always reminded me of ZZ Top.

“Did you ever…. Hear the story…. That happened not long ago…?”
Billy Gibbons just happened to be in class with Charlie Brown and you can hear on this how his musical style was heavily influenced from that era

Recommend 12BARS FROM MARS by Lenny White’s Streamline album! 3 minutes of flame!
Good call! I’ve been thinking about LadyMadonna feat. Chaka Khan from that same album

Try Yes “South Side of the Sky”
They sound weird? Imagine 50 years ago! lol
Love the rhythm of the song, but I can't understand a word he is saying. Lol
I'm a HUGE ZZ Top fan... But this song is a throw away. Not on any of ny playlists...
This song should be in the dictionary under “filler”…lots of good songs on this album, but this one…probably took them 20 minutes 😸
This is the kind of "filler material", if you will, is on their albums. Sorry if you love this song but they can't all be hits. I love ZZ Top but I won't pretend to love it all equally.
Big Top fan, but not my favorite. Keep looking guys.
This song doesn't really have lyrics, it's just mumbling..................leave it to ZZ
This is another guitarist that Jimi Hendricks said was better than him.
OG mumble rap?

He wasn't singing nothing guys. I'm sixty years old and been listening to them guys since 78. You guys should listen to the song TV Dinners.
