I think a lot guys forget a sound bar in a compromise. You don't have all the mess like wires and boxes every where. I would imagine the Senn.... given the right room would be very impressive. I can tell it gives a quality sound.

Thanks for the review! Did you redo the calibration after putting the Ambeo on the box? Wonder if that may have had a impact on some of your findings. While at home my LINN 5.1 setup is amazing for my small condo this would be perfect!

Great review. I think i'll keep my Teufel Ultima 40 5.1 Set an maybe upgrade with dolby Atmos speakers later. Here in germany we only have a couple of good movies available with atmos anyway.

Does it have to be at ear level? That will be hard for most people that don't wall mount.

Had to use some saved up BestBuy points to get this but boy does it work good! Surprising how well it does overhead and "rear" sound.

2500 is a lot of money for a soundbar but if you buy a high end 5.1 or 7.1 setup it will cost you more. Hell my amp alone was that price. A soundbar is a good solution for some people good video 👍

How does this soundbar compare to the Nakamichi Shockwave Ultra 9.2.4 SSE Soundbar?
Would have a question about this soundbar! This has at the back of the connections to connect TV and soundbar via HDMI, this: eARC! My TV, the Panasonic GZ2000, only has ARC connection at the back. The operating instructions for the soundbar include the following: TV sets with "ARC" output (not "eARC") can only transmit surround formats to a limited extent. What does that mean? So my question: can I still connect my TV to this soundbar using an HDMI cable? When Sennheiser writes: Can only transmit surround formats to a limited extent, does that mean that when I watch films in Netflix or Apple TV that are in Dolby Atmos, because the TV does not have an eARC connection, then they cannot be played in Dolby Atmos on the soundbar? Would be very grateful for information!

Thanks for the video on the soundbar. I think it's good if you're not going to go and get a 5.1 surround or be on. Although I would say get the amplifier in the 5.1 or 7.1 you probably don't need Beyond would not be necessary but a 10 inch subwoofer would be recommended,
If you like base i hate base too ghetto sound for me everybody's different I'll take the power Just the Way It Is more than enough Base for me.
The surround and height effects of samsung Q90R are much better since it has dedicated rear speakers with height channels.
Best review of this soundbar I have seen. I have wanted this soundbar from the day it became available. I would have purchased it already but I can't find a TV stand long enough to support it. I would have also upgraded my TV by now but once again I am limited by the TV stands available. Wall mounting is not an option for me.
I remember when flat screens just started to become common in every home. I was a very early adopter. The industry took a few years before the standard entertainment center caught up. The industry was still making entertainment centers for CRT TVs long after the last analog tv ceased production. Back then a 37 inch flat screen was considered big. Nowadays 65 inch is standard. Yet, I can find no entertainment centers that will support a 65 inch TV.
Right now I am using my TV stand/table made for a 45 inch tv but my TV is 55 inch. Ya, it works but I don't like the look. I'll upgrade to this soundbar and a 65 inch TV when a "QUALITY" stand/table is made available to support the devices and a few stereo components as well. I've considered a custom built stand but were talking $2k just for an experienced carpenter to put you on his waiting list. I'm not rich by any means but home entertainment is my weakness. I'll spend what I can afford for the best but I have my limits.

Still love it has worked very well.

This is just a soundbar you have to keep in mind.but it gets better when you put a subwoofer on the side of it..This is a system for people who will not have to use a lot of speakers and wires in the room you have to keep in mind.I have bought this soundbar myself and am very happy..Great sound in Atmos.And its play very good with my B&W asw610xp :)

I just bought this soundbar today. I have hooked it up with my LG CX using eARC but I'm not sure if I'm getting the best out of it. I have calibrated the soundbar using the microphone and tried playing 6 Underground on Netlfix using LG's Netflix app. I got 'Dobly Vision' pop-up on TV screen but no 'Dolby Atmos', which makes sense as it is passing through Dolby Atmos to the soundbar to process it. Sounbar shows HDMI TV + ATMOS on its small LED screen when playing the movie. I have also tried few Disney+ shows that support Atmos. I'm not sure if need to change any setting in Sennheiser app to enhance the experience. App shows 'Dobly Atmos' code with channels set to 'objects'. In Dobly DRC settings I have turned it Off and Dolby Virtualizer is off as well. Should 'Dolby Virtualizer' be on?
Can you please make a detailed video on setting you use for Dobly Atmos content? Sennheiser is not so great with providing that information through the app. Can you please help me out?

Good review man. Most of the comments on here are negative Nancy's. Nobody shopping for a soundbar cares how much better 7 separate speakers, an amplifier, wires etc is. Also, this isn't a review on the cheapest soundbar, it's expensive - so what, sometimes it's worth it. To me that's the real question is, is it worth the extra money that it costs?
I do have to laugh that you tested it on the cardboard box it came in. Priceless. But it was a solid review and I know you weren't keeping it, just reviewing it so you aren't going to custom setup your pad just for that soundbar.
Inherited one - just got it from my uncle, hardly used. Have set it up but doubt will keep it, would not get much use and my TV is only around £300 quid.
So keep an eye on on ebay.

The Klipsch bars I’ve heard were kinda forward sounding. Maybe the new one will be different. The Sennheiser is gonna be tough to beat though.

Different experience. This is more movie surround centric the LS50’s are musical.

I have the sony ht-z9f soundbar with the optional rear speakers and it's awesome! It Supports atmos and dts-X....and does nueral X mix for other audio content. It's got arc and 4k hdr passthrough! Had it for like 1 year now. Never a single issue.
There's no overhead sound on that bar. I used to have it.

Good morning I recently bought 1 sennheiser ambeo soundbar which I am really happy with. I would like to add 1 subw model svs sb4000 or svs pb4000 for more bass. I would like to ask you if by inserting one of these two models I can improve the bass sound more or given the high costs of the models described above, I only keep the soundbar? we are talking about € 2399 and € 2899. for this reason I ask you if by adding 1 subw I really gain from listening to both music and movies. That soundbar looks like a beast. You shouldn't need a sub woofer to get those lows. Often times its the disc that don't produce sound it should.
Godzilla has very low lfe on the disc my svs sb2000 rumbles my whole room with super deep 20hz bass when he walks..

Very true indeed my friend! You know you could get with your $2,500 instead of this overpriced soundbar? A PB16-Ultra from SVS......... Although I suppose these 2 things are polar opposites in "footprint" except I'm the opinion I want to see my badass home-theater that I spent tons of money on and am passionate about! Not hide it...
If your OCD about big speakers then why waste your money from the start. Because no matter what you do that's exactly what it is, a big waste! It will never sound anything like a real home theater. Just go to your local cinema on the weekend and be done with it.
You got a point but these virtual soundbars come in handy when someone lives in a small apartment, condo that can't have too much going on.
@@testing448 Oh i completely agree with that sentiment. But in that case get a $200-$300 soundbar and it will get the job done. An example is my old Vizio with rear surrounds I have in my guest bedroom which works great for what it is. it's just when your getting into these absurd $2500+ price ranges, which at the end of the day is just a soundbar. I think your losing perspective on what's really going to be accomplished with that massive investment. But indeed there are some cheap and relatively efficient soundbar solutions which are perfect for things like apartments, and really that's what they were designed for the begin with. A CHEAP(keyword) small footprint item to improve your terrible TV sound. Above average performance, low prices, ez to install, small space requirements for installation, and then you can just forget about it. And when your ready for a REAL sound system in an appropriate space, you have only spent a few hundred dollars! Instead of wasting your hard earned money on sub par nonsense.
I guess If I was to make an comparison, you wouldn't buy a Ferrari to haul rocks and construction equipment back and forth everyday. I mean, sure you COULD but maybe you should have just gotten a cheap pickup instead ya know? The right tool for the right job.......

Matt Gade well Matt, I do agree with you, but $2500 on a sub without any surround setup is great but when you add speakers and a receiver it’ll be double that depending on what you go with. Don’t forget you can add a subwoofer to this soundbar.
I have a 5.1.4 Klipsch setup with a SVS sub and the power is incredible and I would take it any day over this soundbar. However I am curious how this soundbar would be with a dedicated sub attached. Pretty cool really.
@@GoogleUsedToLetThisNameBeLong I used to be all about av i stop caring for them right around the Dolby true hd and dts master audio era. I used to be the guy that had Dolby logos and dts printed logos in my setup. That every receiver I owned must have THX certification. From expensive speaker wires, monster power centers etc etc I use to be all that. I've owned plenty of speakers in my life from phase technology, axiom, def tech, hsu, jbl, Klipsch, Yamaha, Boston acoustic, jamo, b&w, fluance, swans, legacy audio too many to lists. I use to be all about calibration, making sure everything is in sync with the distance. now all these setups were done through a receiver and never through a dedicated true amp or tube amplification a lot of the stuff I had were bought used. Couldn't afford to pay retail for the speakers but most of my recievers were bought brand new. I miss the days now it's hard to keep up with all these new formats like Atmos. I loved the good old dlp rear projection TV's while it's not as bright or colorful I still stand in how natural the picture is gives it more of a cinema feel and true blacks. Instead of all the oled and all these heavily processed pictures nowadays. Since losing my home to my ex evil wife. I now live in a small comfortable condo and I live a simple life with a simple Polk magnifi mini which is actually a very good soundbar. Good highs, okay mids, legendary Polk SDA technology built in but it's dsp based. The sub on it plays deep enough and has a good fast transient response didn't expect it from a 6.5 inch driver it's like a little machine that could. My dream is to owned some Martin Logan's, Vienna acoustics, sonus Faber one day for 2 channel listening and they can get pretty expensive even in the used market. Ok I'll shut up now
I have the Q90 and the K950. Both systems give you top tier Atmos sound that can only be surpassed by much more expensive separates. With that said, I haven’t heard the AMBEO and wish I did. My main issue is the price. It has no subwoofer and no rear surround channels. For $2500, that’s unacceptable. I think if they drop the price by around 50%, they would have a formidable competitor.
No offense but your comment is stupid it have no subwoofer because it's built in that's what you're paying for it don't comment about it if you never heard it this thing is a beast people that said you need a subwoofer with this thing I guess a deaf just because you can't afford it Shouldn't Judge it or comment about it especially if you never heard it laugh at these people that say it should need a subwoofer they have to say something bad about it because of the price
I had both of the soundbars too.
The ambeo is expensive.
And no rears, they are hard to simulate.
@@richardcerritelli9657 Having heard it by itself and then with a subwoofer, this sound bar most definitely benefits from the latter option. Also, I heard it with a $600 Sennheiser subwoofer; then with a $1,200 REL subwoofer. This last setup was the winner, no contest. Without a sub, the experience watching an action-filled movie was just not as good. Is even this second setup pricey? Not compared to the Nakamichi Dragon sound bar, which is $3,500.
Hello, can you talk about the sound quality when it compare to the lsx?
LSX doesn't give you a surround effect just stereo. LSX for music and the Sennheiser for movies.
@@therealshanelee I'm struggling to get one of these, mainly for music but can be great if movie still sounds acceptably good. The ratio is around 70% and 30%. What do u think for the choice? I got a sub(svb) so bass should be fine. My room is not a small room so I feel like either lsx and ambeo can not fill my room with bass anyway..
The KEF is better in a smaller room. Won’t be so great in a large space. Go for the LS50 wireless if your room is that big.

Agreed Charlie, I'd never buy that for $2.500 no matter what size they made the damn thing........ Course I'm also not currently some poor sob getting chewed out by his OCD wife claiming his "ugly boxes" are ruining her Feng Shui.....

Yeah I went with reference for the same price...actually a little less because Klipsch sales are so damn good. I did get a SVS subwoofer and that alone will keep me from buying a soundbar for a theater system. Sound bars are great to make a room look tidier, mostly for a family room..not theater room. This is a good alternative however.
Forgot to mention, this soundbar only goes to 30hz. I mean my Klipsch reference sub, when I had it, went to 29hz and it was $300. Don’t know who seinehisser is trying to fool
Sure thing! You can explain that to my mother when she will see me getting home with 10-12 boxes for the new "TV stereo setup" hahaha. At this point I can say that looking at the performance is better spend 1000$ on a desktop rather than a laptop...

Sounds good, but does the "Ambeo" soundbar light dim? Feels like a Buick headlight coming at me when I watch TV. Had to cover it with some black electrical tape it is so annoying, why do have to see the Ambeo light on the right lower side so bright?

Companies are starting to make passive soundbars. So I think if anyone absolutely wants a soundbar. I'd recommend looking into getting one passive. That way you can have an actual reciever. You can buy what ever satellite speakers for your rears or heights. And buy whatever subwoofer you want. you'll be getting alot more for your money If you buy the equipment yourself and do the right research. You can even find a company to do the installation for you, for about the price you'd spend on the Sennheiser. So this is cool, but in my opinion, not really worth it.
@FOMO on tech I understand that, I love simplicity and I'm not against soundbars. But dude, for 2500 bucks? There are so many other options. The klipsch Bar 48 makes the most sense in my opinion. It's not Atmos, but it decodes lossy and lossless Dolby and DTS formats. its a whole 5.1 soundbar package for literally 748.00. yes the soundbar, sub, and rears in one package. Not "virtual" 5 channels. And if you want, you can replace the included 8" sub with a more beefy klipsch sub of your choice. Which is a fair price in my opinion. Or even a Vizio Atmos soundbar. One model has a 10" subwoofer and rear channels for an actual 5.1.4 setup. Probably won't sound better than the klipsch but still is a better deal than a 2.5k virtual surround soundbar. Hell, for that amount id just buy in wall speakers and have some guys professionally install the whole system
@@gabe6959 well you need to understand that people who buy this soundbar dont save money- they just have in account, then they look for best option, its like you when buy clothes you put to sort from low price to high, and there are people who do other way round, looking from high to low, in your option klipsch - then go for it, let others do own opinion ;) for some 2500 is years wage, some earns in hour and everyone want treats.

i thought i was buying a great soundbar but i keep getting strange noises from the speakers and the agent has had it twice and still very poor. 4 weeks the first time and so far 3-4 weeks and still not returned. Get and B&O so much more reliable and it’s about the same price.
