Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action. After several days of soaking wet, windy weather, there is some sunny spells to come out and shine down from the sky. Therefore, I took this chance at going out and capture some film. Here at Northallerton railway station on the East Coast Mainline, not a single raindrop came down and watching the intercity express units speeding through. Unfortunately, no freight services came through during my ninety minutes time there apart from the locomotive at this film’s end. Furthermore, while I was there and you folks will overhear the announcements that some of the services from London were way behind schedule due to fatally further down the line, sad it is to even think how it happened. Hopefully you all enjoy this film and please, always remain safe on the railways.
Trains include: LNER Azuma’s & 225 sets, CrossCountry Voyagers, Transpennine Express 185’s & ‘Nova 1’ 802’s, Grand Central 180 and Volker Rail DR77801 rail unit

Why does Britain still have so many diesel trains?
Some areas don't have electrification. However, there are projects going on to electrify routes.
The problem is affordability. Finding money is a huge problem. Then there's the problem of planning these works. The list is endless. So don't expect electrification to happen any time in this century.
There's now other options, including hydrogen and stuff like that.
What camera is that? Wonderful footage!
Great video. What camera did you use?
Do these trains travel at 240 kmph +?
If I bought a ticket on the day to travel north from London then how much does it cost, I'm self employed so need to travel where the work is on that day?
Is it cheaper to use my car instead?
No, they travel at 125 mph or 200 km/h
No freight...again
What was the train at 12:11?
DR77801 is a Matisa R24 'ballast regulator' vehicle operated by VolkerRail-UK. It's an engineering vehicle that keeps the gravel on the track beds even so that the rail sleepers don't shift.
Really don’t get why they ordered 5 car trains just to run them doubled up as 10 car trains. Why not just order 10 car trains?
Lack of foresight and cost.
Flexibility. Many 10-car trains will run for example to Leeds but often only 5 cars will detach and go further to Harrogate for example - this is because beyond Leeds diesel power must be used and fuel costs / emissions are higher and can be reduced by operating 5 cars when demand is lower.
The main InterCity routes to Edinburgh and Leeds are almost always operated by 9- or 10-car trains.
You can massively increase the quality of your videos by buying a tripod! Really helps with the shake from the chubby arms! Always notice that from videos of british trains compared to videos in Japan or France, really proves that the railway were born in those countries.
born in the UK or the other countries?
