Tolkien's creation was ruined on purpose in ROP. Anything Nordic is not allowed to be good any longer. It was de-Nordified while having all originality turned into bland garbage. Lest we forget, JRR Tolkien was a professor of Anglo Saxon.
Which is why i hope they never do any shownor movienon the first age i believe no one would ever do his work justice and i would hate to see that ruined
@@Flameofthewest1025 Good point. The problem with ROP was the overall motive. The writing reflected that. And the bad acting helped to forward it, as well. The motive was a not so subtle attempt to destroy JRRT's legacy moving forward into the 21st Century, IMHO.

@Flameofthewest1025 I just don't understand why they even chose to go with this version of the story. Gladrielle was amazing without being a girl boss warrior. Trained by a Melian a maia in magic. An original nordor. She has nothing to do with this storyline. There was plenty of amazing stories to be told that they could have done.

What can we do :( Still, I have some defending thoughts I hope they will use :D 1) king Durin attacking Balrog made a rock slide, so the Balrog is imprisoned again. Only one who saw that is Durin and his wife, he has the ring of power... The dwarfs may not trust him something is down there. And they can dig him up again later on. 2) Unfortunately I think it will be Saruman, I also cry for the blue wizards. But maybe they will gather their strenght, get to know the real world, and than they can accomodate the blue wizards in Rhun and go fight Sauron (who becomes more and more "visible") by sailing to Gray havens (I mean their lore arrival may not be their first step in Middleearth). Also, as they are mostly wise advisors, they would fit into Numenor to oppose Sauron. ; man, Im not sure I help the series or bring more lore inconviniences xD
Huh - I wouldn't even think to start looking at it that way - appendix B, which amazon bought, offers a very clear timeline of what happens in the second age, and this show does nothing like it. The time compresion of 3000 years is like watching Oppenheimer build a bomb for Julius Caesar, I don't know what to do with that.
i understabd why people critizise that but you have to realise that this is no actual change. Because in Tolkien universe only the books are canon so even if rings of power changes something it doesnt mean anything. Although of course i also think that there are things that they could have done better but the main Problem i think is just that the caracter Adar exists which means Sauron cant just go back to Mordor like he did in the books because after Sauron and Celembribor made the nine and the seven together Sauron just went back to Mordor to make the one while Celebrimbor made three extra rings without Sauron. And in the books Sauron already has forged the one Ring before he attacks Eregion which in the series he cant do because Sauron just couldnt go into Mordor because of Adar and that kinda messes up the overall timeline.
It really bothers me that they have changed the way the Palantir works. A means of communication has become a crystal ball for divination.

Yeah the whole elven timeline is so different im very curious how they are going to go about everything
