Dr. Howard Tigelaar, author of How Transistor Area Shrank by 1 Million Fold, discusses the amazing story of the development of Integrated Circuits. Howard Tigelaar earned a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Illinois and was employed at Texas Instruments as a thin film deposition and etch engineer. After transitioning into process integration, he led groups of engineers and technicians that developed manufacturing flows for next generation integrated circuit chips. Howard is also coauthor on a number of published articles and patents.
