Blame our drug problem on China is just shifting responsibility in a cowardly way. Need to address the reason why there is this insatiable demand of drug use here first. Blaming China for all our problems does not solve them.

By the way if China is just a problem of producing the ingredient for pharmacy use and that causes drug problem in the USA. With that logic China should have more drug problems than the USA since it's at home turf but the irony is there's no "drug problem" there. This is simply US blame game and incompetency of first taking of that issue and second its people welll being just look at the major cities of the USA you see homeless everywhere. By the way they should blame that on China too LOL

China has a saying: 听其言 观其行 (Listen to what you say and watch what you do) So if you say you want to have good relations with China, but at the same time you interfere in China's Taiwan affairs, instigate HK protests ,& riots , send warships to S China Sea and form anti-China groups like AUKUS etc as well as the imposition of trade tariffs to cause trouble to China. How can you expect China to co-operate with you or improve relations? The US must understand and accept the fact that China under President Xi Jinping has achieved the greatest success in every field of human endeavour! And the Chinese people are the safest and most contented people in the world today! Any honest observer would tell you that China is a better and greater country than America today!

I agree with Burns that we don’t have the people to people contact at the official level. But did he explain what caused that? Is it because of the tiredness meddling in China’s internal affairs (ie paying people to riots is Hong Kong and Xin Jiang and many more) and telling lies about them? Is it because of the endless list of trading constraint in the name of national security? Or is it because of trying to kill Haiwei, a mere phone company, to promote unfair competition just like what they did to Toshiba? Please Mr. Burns, answer that!

It's smart for China to invite 50,000 young people to visit China and join their study exchange program. it's all good to engage and connect, but the US must take responsibilities for its own governance. China doesn't make Fentanyl for exportation to the US, the US gov in escaping its own responsibilities, constantly blame it on China. Now US gov is again playing the game as if China is responsible for the drug abuse in the United States.
China doesn't have a drug abuse problem, most Chinese never heard of Fentanyl. China exports a legal chemical used as precursor in producing a legal painkiller to verified buyers.
The US must take responsibilities to deal with 1. its border; 2. drug smuggling; 3. illegal prescriptions; 4. drug abuse; 5 rehabilitation of your own ppl.
Even if China, out of good heart, help the US in banning export of the legal precursor, those can be bought from other countries, the US has the same problems.
Pointing fingers and political posturing can't help your country and ppl. No amount of pretending, finger pointing, blaming or shirking responsibilities can help your ppl.
When political elites have no vision for your country and people, both parties bash CN in unison, hoping to gain votes. That's the doom of the US, which used to be a great country 30 years ago.
Shirking responsibilities instead of actually working out a solution is the demise of your great country.

China has a billion people to feed it doesn't want more people to feed. What it does need is support from the world. The US should help feed its own people by having a good relationship with China. China provides a lot of rice to the US. It is now providing fish to the US. If it wasn't for China, we would not even have a back scratcher. Tiawan, China and the US should work out their differences.

Listening to what Mr.Bern was saying, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Doesn't he really understand that we Asians feel the United States' insincerity towards China? The United States incites fellow Chinese people in Taiwan to hate China. The United States sincerely does not respect the one-China policy. The United States has tried to use ambiguity and rhetoric about the One China policy. Asians' trust in the United States has plummeted.

Before we even begin to make any request between 2 countries...Both countries do not have a great relationship. The Business and Technology competition or rivalry does not need to be ugly. If we look at 100 to 200 years from now, if humanity survives...We probably will be living in a more sophisticated technologies like in the star trek era. There are a lot of areas and grounds to cover. Both counties need a great relationship and agreements...1 country creates or manufactures or research on area A to M and the other Party creates N to Z. Double or triple the speed to resolve world issues.

WWII had devastated Europe and Asia whereas the land of the US was not affected; as the result, the US could be the only one then. However, the structure of power has changed in the 21st century, the notion of 'only one' is not possible in maintaining global stability.@@TacticalMayo
