CHECK OUT OUR UPDATE VIDEO HERE: • How To Add Bungee Rete...
We're big fans of kydex based magazine retention from companies like Esstac. At the same time, for airborne or maritime operations, bungee retention is required. There are also a number of law enforcement agencies and units that require over the top magazine retention.
There are also other situations where bungee retention is advisable or preferable, such as patrolling in jungle or densely wooded environments.
Many mag pouches and placards do not include built in loops or points to secure bungee retainers, so we created Bungee Retention Adapters.
There are several design features that make our adapters unique:
    • They work inside of pouches, like Esstac KYWIs that do not have hook/loop interfaces on both sides
    • By passing underneath the insert, they provide superior retention to solutions that just mount to the sides of the pouch.
    • They work with any pouch that has hook or loop on the inside regardless of insert type (kydex, thermoplastic, elastic, etc). These have been used across many brands including Haley Strategic, Esstac, Spiritus Systems, Ferro Concepts, Shaw Concepts, and more.

Dude... of all the times I've struggled with getting velcro into other places containing velcro, I can't believe I never thought of something as simple as folding up paper cards to create a barrier. Sick tip. Great product by the way. Ya'll should have a bundle option to buy 3 😃

Glad that little tip could help! It's something we try to put out periodically because it saves so much time. And we've thought about adding a bundle option, but we get so many variations of Bungee Retention Adapter orders it's easier just to set it the way we have it. Thank you for the support!

Thank God. I love my KYWIs but sometimes I get paranoid and continuously push down on my mags to make sure they're still tight. Usually they are. USUALLY

Would you recommend using a hair dryer to loosen the retention on the insert before installing the adaptors?

It depends on the type of mag you're using and how much retention you want. For glock mags I'll loosen them with a hair dryer. For sig, I actually find the tighter tolerance with the Bungee Retention Adapter works perfectly.

What's the pouch you're using to hold your multitool. Is it also from esstac?

Yessir, it's one of their lidded pistol pouches. Absolutely my favorite multitool pouch because the kywi insert + top flap provides double retention.

I have the Esstac Kywi handcuff pouch, would rifle mag pouch adapter work?

    • @forge_concepts

As long as the insert has hook/loop the same as their other inserts they would work just fine!
